                   They certainly wouldn't stand up and fight like he's decided to.

                   ❛ ... I just can't stop thinking— if I hadn't left him there, in that place, all alone... this wouldn't be happening. None of this would be happening. ❜

                   Two— he refuses to call him 'Vecna', he's his brother, stop treating him like a damn comic book nemesis— could have had a life had Henry not been ruled by his own selfish desire to break free. If he'd have turned around when making his escape, if he'd have considered just how much his siblings deserved to be free too, things wouldn't have turned out this way.

                   And yet he can't see the flaws in his own thinking— can't see the fact that he'd been an abused, defenceless boy with a suicide attempt under his belt when he was just eleven years old. Can't see that he'd been a child too, because it had never mattered to the people around him. He never should have had to account for the safety of his siblings; should never have had to burden the terrible guilt that came with their suffering. This was never his problem to fix.

I'm not gonna lie, dudes, I'm reeeeally considering remaking but I'm not yet sure. It's gonna mark some changes, such as unaffiliating with the ST RPC (ST blogs are still more than welcome to interact and follow, just my canon stands across my blog and I also don't have to engage with the petty bs this space is known for any more) and just generally cleaning up after all the fuckery my friends and I have been through the past few months.

I even have a new url (ripcreel, which sounds awesome and kinda further symbolises the way I've plucked him from his own shitty canon narrative!) saved because I've been considering it for a while. My only thought is- I've built so much up here? And I'd hate to lose all of the work I've put into things? Because it's a lot. I work so hard with Hen.

I just love him so very dearly and kind of want a clean slate, but I don't know if it's worth all of the growing pains associated with making a new blog/making people follow a new blog when I'm essentially writing all the same stuff? IDK, I'm turning it over in my head; this is a remake of the blog in and of itself, but I've been writing this guy so long that that was 9 months ago. Maybe I need to fresh start.

With a blink of an eye he did it. “ I will do it now.” Caspian whispered.

He was not a werewolf , but that monster from his dreams . The once human was now a monster. It was indeed a stretch , Caspian roared to life . He screeched with claws unsheathed. His clothes were already scraps that fell from his body. His vision — now red was picking up heat signals from the human bellow. Henry.

Caspian croaks. He definitely had a growth spurt. His reddish skin , looked shiny too the touch. He didn’t have fur nor scales. It was just human like skin. Caspian looked down upon his friend. He let out a small croak. He dropped down on all fours — lowering his head . He didn’t want to hurt Henry when in this form. He didn’t hurt anyone. Caspian made a small gurgle .

He looked at his friend. He can see but his eyes seem to be nonexistent when in this form. Caspian lowered his head. His flower shaped head was closed. He didn’t have ‘eyes’ but he can sense who this human was.

⸸ ⸻ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐘 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐑. While he'd expected teeth, claws the likes of which no human has ever seen, he didn't expect to recognise the beast he turned into.

                   It isn't quite horror he looks at him with— rather stupefaction, blue eyes wide with rampant curiosity and mounting realisation alike. He doesn't look like a carbon copy of the demodog, rather a distant relative, but it's so uncanny to see one of these things standing before him once more that it really doesn't matter.

                   ❛ Holy crap... ❜ In this moment, it feels as if only Dustin's choice of words will do. He sinks to a crouch before him, fighting back the urge to send him careening into the dirt with a powerful psychic blast; reminding himself that this is Caspian, you saw it with your own eyes, so don't go doing anything foolish. ❛ Please tell me it isn't you who's been causing trouble around these parts all these years... ❜

                   Henry doubts it, but he's spent so long cleaning up this town that he can't help but ask. God knows how he's going to handle it is Caspian admits to any degree of carnage; he may feel bitter towards this place, may wish most of the people here a very tough future, but he's been protecting them for too long to just let this go.

                  It's punctuated by him arranging his guitar on his lap, a look of intense focus on his face as he surveys the papers scattered around him.

                  ❛ He's a fool through-and-through, but he's handed me a golden opportunity. ❜ He's of course talking about Mr. Dawson. While he openly shows distaste for some of the selected works in the class, Henry wouldn't say that he's purposefully disruptive. In fact, he keeps to himself, talking to no one and keeping his head down; the problem stems from the fact that he's not in tears over Shakespeare's stupid sonnets. He's never seen a snob take someone else's disinterest in their chosen field so personally before. ❛ I mean, daring me to write a song to see how it compares to his precious classics? He's pretty much just handed me an A+. ❜

                  Henry's cool disposition had lent itself well to his professor's attempt to embarrass him during their previous lecture. Though he won't pretend he didn't feel slightly hot under the collar when hundreds of eyes had swivelled to look at him, his calm demeanour had contrasted the unfair outrage of his teacher in only the most satisfying of ways. While he was red-faced and antagonistic, Henry was collected and ever so slightly confused.

                  This amount of ire over his taste in poetry... the man clearly has other things going on in his life.

                  ❛ This isn't my fault. I haven't done anything. ❜ And what a rare observation for him to make, for he's always quick to blame himself. ❛ I'll make him see it; that it's him and not me. It's not me. ❜

Hey dudes, just a tiny thing below the cut if you care to read it:

I just wanna apologise for being a little slow the past few days. I know nobody expects me to be here, and I don't 'owe' anyone anything. This isn't my job, and I don't make it a habit of treating it like one— but I do like spending time with y'all and talking to y'all. Truth is, I'm just going through a really rough patch with existential depression atm, and it's hard to sit up and do stuff for longer than a couple of hours before getting overwhelmed and needing to lay down. Rest assured though, Henry is one of my only lights— alongside writing in general, of course— and he won't be going anywhere. I may just be a tad slower while I'm riding out this dreadful decline in mental health. It's entirely IRL-based. I also just wanted to be transparent in that, if you've messaged me lately and I've been slow/haven't replied, this is probably why. I feel like I can never talk about this kind of thing with anyone because tbh? It doesn't make me feel better? Like, it just feels cyclical and like I'm saying the same thing over and over. I don't want to burden others with repetition, and I also just don't have the energy to keep saying the same thing over and over. It's just something I've got to gradually plough through, I guess.

TL;DR: I'm just going through it depression-wise and I'm really thankful for your patience. I'm doing my best to deal with it and come back in tip-top shape, and whenever I do have the energy to be here I grab it and run. Thank you so much for continuing to support and follow me. It really does mean the most, and I'll be back properly before you know it.

                  He can't really help it— the way his shoulders rise, cheeks gaining a hint of colour. Embarrassed, yet he's touched too.

                  ❛ You mean it? ❜ Henry asks. When he'd brought up the possibility of going to study horology and opening his own store in the future, he hadn't expected Issac to be so on board. It just isn't what most parents seem to want their children to say; not even Papa had been content with him being anything other than a soldier. ❛ So, it's not a terrible idea...? ❜

                  It's second nature to doubt himself, but this goes beyond that. Like people who wish to pursue art as a career, the future for a dream like that is particularly nebulous and hard to gauge. He might be putting himself in financial duress simply by entertaining the idea of following this particular passion. He's read up on business studies to prepare for such an exploit, but knowledge won't make people respect art more. That's something he has no control over.
