Do you ever get the feeling that you shouldn't turn around? That you shouldn't look in the mirror? That you shouldn't whisper "hello?" aloud in your dark bedroom?

Do you ever just feel like something deep inside you is screaming at you "DON'T!"?

I do.

I feel it right now, my face lathered with soap, dripping into the bathroom sink. I ignore it and rinse my face with water.

Don't look up.

Don't look into the mirror.

A chill runs down my spine. I push it aside. I reach blindly for the towel beside the sink and dry my face.

DON'T LOOK IN THE MIRROR!!

I open my eyes. I look in the mirror. Nothing. I sigh, relieved.

Then the shower curtain behind me ruffles and a figure moves slowly into view.
