she comes in unannounced, barging in, and after nearly thirteen years of not seeing that sissy of hers, she should be explaining herself. and yet, the Russian acrobatist, Ivan comes in lugging a trunk of gifts for her– “So I read on twitter my favorite little sissy is throwing a movie marathon and forgot to invite me.” she purses her lips, “I expected this behavior from Josie, but I’ll let it slide this one time.” she waves her finger, and flourishes it with a point to the trunk, which, Ivan’s opened before he exists the apartment briskly. “So I’ve brought Kill Bill Volumes 1 & 2, to watch, just as we always used to.” she takes a seat, of course, in one of the pink couch cushions of the apartment. “I’ll braid your hair like we used to–– how grandma Pattie taught us, if you tell me about the boys you’ve been torturing.” she’s always had a suspicion Dollie, however, played for her team– perhaps she’ll find out more over the course of the night. “And don’t ask how I know where you live, Lottie always knows.”
— Dollie had just finished picking bottles and jars from the assortment of skincare products set out in front of her when Lottie made her grand entrance into the apartment. Assuming it had just been Rosie coming in after a long day, Dollie hadn’t thought to look up to see who’d let themselves in until she’d heard her older sisters voice for the first time in years. It all turns into a blur when it really settles in, one moment she’d been sitting on the floor, the next she was throwing herself into her big sisters arms and burying her face into the crook of Lottie’s neck, just as she had when she was a little girl. She’d barely even noticed the Russian man carrying the luggage, and the tears are already spilling down her cheeks before she can even process any of what Lottie had been saying.
“I can’t believe you’re, like, here?!” she exclaims, hugging her sister tighter, “This doesn’t even feel real...” Another sniffle escapes the youngest Alimjan, and as she pulls back she realizes that facemask she’d put on previously was getting all over Lottie's hair. “Oh god, I’m getting this all over you-...I mean, it’s like, all natural, so maybe we can just pretend it doubles as a hair mask?” A tiny giggle escapes her before she pulls her sister back in one more time, her voice coming out softer and quieter than before, just barely above a whisper.
“I really missed you..”
