I redesigned Bmo the human from my Adventure Time swap AU!!!
Mostly just in the color choice and the arm. And changing the necklace of buttons to pins on his shirt (which were just gonna be the same colors as BMO's buttons but I decided to make them different stuff).
Oh also, decided to make her bigender and use he/she pronouns! IDK what I was doing before to be honest with you. I think I was leaning too heavily into the "Finn" side of the swap and just making him Finn with different clothes and hair lol
(fanart doodle of @serendipitousbugger 's LatchKeyToy. plus my sona bc i felt compelled to give Jass a small friendly wave. Jass is one of my favorite characters ever)
I do not "render." I do not "shade." I do not "paint," I do not "detail" and i do not draw "Backgrounds." I draw BLAND CHARACTERS standing in WHITE VOIDS And if it doesn't look good i GIVE UP.
working on drawing and giving a color palette to every planned war for whimsy character. 13 down, 6 to go (not coloring strongheart. using the doodle from their concept art. i just dont feel like it lol)
(to scale with one another. arranged in order of first planned major appearance)
My take on a secret boss for a Toriel's classroom dark world - meet Hatchette!
(Named after the shading technique hatching/crosshatching. Loosely inspired by Muffet, as there are several Deltarune bosses based on characters or fights from Undertale- but for Hatchette it's mostly in the way his fight plays out, most notably the purple soul mode.)
Their light world self is a pencil Kris used to use as a little kid, but lost under Toriel's classroom (either as a student there, or as that thing some teachers do where they have their kids with them while doing extra work or whatever outside school hours).
People forget pencils a lot, none more than Kris, but this is the first one to take it personally.
If people take an interest in Hatchette, I'll make some more posts on her!
Realized I posted this drawing as a reblog initially so methinks it won't show up in tag searches? Either way, posting on its own.
This is what I imagine a dark world in Toriel's classroom would be like.
I have plenty of ideas for enemies, various characters, and a secret boss, but I've yet to come up with a primary antagonist.
(to tell you the truth I keep imagining beastwhimsy's Shapes Ampersand Colours as the one for this darkworld, but I really ought to get around to making my own at some point)
(also I did not draw the great door or the fountain used in here. I just nabbed those from the game and put them in greyscale)
The original room:
I have so many thoughts about this dark world! I've already come up with a ton of items, and I'm currently working on nailing down my design for the secret boss!
Let me show you around:
The Great Door - pretty self explanatory. Originally I wanted the alphabet thingy at the top of the room to become a darkner, but I felt like it would be better to have it become some kind of thing in the sky/darkness. Obviously, this dark world is themed around schools and education, as the other school dark worlds (the closet & abandoned classroom) are based on other things.
Violet Hayfield - an overgrown farm field, a bit like an unkempt maze of purple~pink grass/wheat/corn/ambiguous crops. I don't think Toriel's classroom will show up in chapter 5, but I'm still imagining that the "harvest the wheat" egg man happens in the Violet Hayfield, if this is in chapter 5 (as a sort of misdirect since the player would *assume* that "harvest the wheat" is gonna be in Flower King). I considered putting a farm house in this area (which is why there are only 5 desk-houses instead of 6 in the village), but I wasn't sure about it. If I added the farm house, that's where I would hide the egg room.
The Village - this is where many of the darkners would live! There would be a path from the Great Door to the Violet Hayfield, which would lead up into the Village. I imagine a lot of homework-based enemies being here. This is probably also where I'd put Craym (my idea for a shopkeep(s). I plan to make a post about them.)
The Academy - I imagine that the Violet Hayfield and Village segments wouldn't be all too long, and the Academy is one of the longer sections in this dark world. I haven't quite nailed down what goes on in here, but this would be where the primary antagonist (and the secret boss, in their basement) would be. The roof is accesible, and there's even a garden up there.
The Snifkers would either be here, or in the Tower of Wisdom.
Tower of Wisdom - I haven't quite figured out how the player/fun gang gets up here, but I'm imagining they're brought to the top of the tower, and have to make their way down through various levels.
Throne of the Gods - this would be the final area. I can imagine some kind of scripted sequence/cutscene going on here. The fountain is right beside the throne, and you have to get to the top to seal the fountain.

They're basically my idea for darkners in a hypothetical dark world in Toriel's classroom! They'd take the role of guards like the Swatchlings or the Zappers. Their attacks would be themed around "drawing a sword" in a literal sense (and other art-ish drawing-themed attacks/mercy-acts). (I also have an idea for a secret boss and I think a lot of their attacks could be sort of a warm-up for that, much in the way that Jackenstein's fight was a warm-up for the titan fight).
(below: dialogue from Deltarune itself about the markers. I didn't write this lol)
I plan to sprite more of my concepts for Toriel classroom darkners in the future. The idea is one I had on my own but I then saw Crabussy's ideas for such a dark world almost immediately after, so that's the main source of inspiration for me deciding to sprite these guys.
I also decided to cobble together a scene from an interaction I keep imagining!
his name is Opter Fantelscoscten and he's 15 feet tall and he's 90 years old (though he has a really long projected lifespan so he's essentially 30) and he works in a position of great power and influence while somehow also remaining kind-hearted and he looooves cheesy fried food and he likes hanging out with his coworker Uofhnenne (his other 3 coworkers suck)
(important character from the setting of War for Whimsy, though he's never going to appear in the comic, since he lives/works thousands of miles/kilometers away and has shit to do)
also this is what Uofhnenne Escmenenn (pronounced "oof-nen esh-men-en") looks like. she's like 4 feet tall. she has two thumbs on her right hand (she was born with 3 fingers on each hand but they just keep growing in). her hair is permanently floating around like he's underwater.
she doesn't particularly care for junk food but she does enjoy hanging out with Opter and he goes down to the market for fried food basically every day. and he is a very persuasive speaker (it's his strongest skill) so she usually ends up eating a basket of chip fries (which is what they refer to chips/fries as in this setting. i might post an infodump about this at some point)
but she will NOT ask for liquid cheese poured all over the chip fries like Opter keeps wanting her to try. that is where she draws the line.
(also i forgot to say but Opter's name is pronounced "op-ter fan-tuhl-shaw-shtin" but basically everyone calls him Opter or Oppy so dw about it)

More about the other characters from this guy's world at my blog @warforwhimsycomic ^_^ I plan to upload more about Opter as well in the near future
