sileon is a country based off of korea’s silla & joseon dynasty, hence the name. much of it’s culture is based off the two dynasties, though much more progressive. some basic facts i’ve decided on below.

the ruling emperor is actually an empress.

the language & the writing remains the same as the korean language in the joseon dynasty; read right to left, up then down, if i remember correctly.

the food is just korean food today it’s just the same ( dont quote me on this )

there is a huge emphasis on the arts; theatre, art, literature, etc, etc.

while there is an empress, her officials consist of both noble born & elected representatives.

major korean historical monuments ( i.e. cheomseongdae, korea’s oldest astronomy tower ) or important moments in history ( i.e. king sejeong’s creation of the korean language ) exist or have something that alludes to them.

mercedes is an extremely affectionate person! she gives all her friends hugs, but close friends get special perks tm ( read: blue lions + special others ) in which. she goes ham. im talking cuddles, heads on shoulders, hand holding, she has such love for those closest to her! she restrains herself when asked to, though.

in terms of smooches, uh. ya. all out again. her close friends always get like. cheek kisses, forehead kisses ( if she can reach them / pulls them down ), etc. her s/o gets the specialty of hand smooches & actual kisses.

it ’ s so rare for them to be out like this ; where they shed their duties in favor of playful escapades . a village basked in vivid sunset ; stalls lined with goods from far & wide . like a near revival of their time in the academy , mercedes feels nostalgia creeps in her mind & soft smile blooms as she recounts their adventures .

“ … do you remember the flower that only bloomed at night ? ” the name of it eludes her , sadly , but she still turns to look up at him with a smile . “ we made tea out of it , too . ”

eyes drift off him & to food , a hum as she recognizes some & not others . sweet pancakes & honey cookies ; she barely looks them over before handing gold over to buy some .

& as she does , “ they were delightful . you don ’ t know how much it surprised me when you gave me a box of it so many years later . ” & it delighted her , too !

smile turns sweet as she hands him one of the cookies , almost a peace offering between two warring territories . she can forget that for now ; it ’ s just her & claude . “ it ’ s only fair i offer you something in return . ”
