I understand the answer is absolutely, "Your country committed unspeakable crimes to achieve such a broad level of assimilation" but sometimes I still can't believe countries like New Zealand or Japan can have such drastically different accents, dialects, and cultures when they're so geographically small. How can two locations share a time zone but one end can't understand the other? How?

nobody draws fanart of peoples ocs anymore they just steal the designs, why is trying to take ownership and profit off of other peoples work so common nowadays? I remember a time, maybe a decade ago, when oc fanart was the norm and people got and drew fanart all the time, now its more often that me and my friends characters get stolen uncredited than receive any fanart of them.

You guys know you can do anything you want with my characters as long as I'm credited/you don't make profit off it right? Do you really have to claim ownership over my work to enjoy engaging with my characters? I'm literally so lax about this stuff you can even write AUs, ship or mess with the characters designs... I understand by posting my ocs online I run the risk of character theft, but why is everyones first thought to steal the character and claim it as their own instead of literally anything else?

one day I met someone online who for some reason seemed to just love Adonis, my Imperial thief oc who operated alongside his adopted older / younger Altmer sister Silrie. And they made art of Silrie and Adonis. I was baffled. I still intend to write shorts explicitly for this person - I've just struggled to do so. It has been like a year or two and I still have a project I work on periodically specifically and exclusively for this person who decided to draw the OCS I made when I was 11
