Dinner Date || Charles
Youâre important to me.
It sounded awfully familiar, and yet it was so distant that he could barely remember. And then, memories surfaced- no, not memories. More like sensations. Warmth. Comfort.Â
Home. He felt at home, for the first time in 2 years. In front of 221B Baker Street, nonetheless, and Charles finally knew it to be true: Home is where the heart is.Â
He didnât know how long they stayed like that, but it was incredibly difficult to pull away. And when he looked up at Erin, he was alright again.Â
âWe could still go dancing.âÂ
As she felt Charles relaxing in her arms, Erin let out a relieved sigh. He was feeling better. Good.Â
She looked into his eyes when he pulled back, smiling softly. âAre you sure?â she said, tilting her head to one side as she cupped his cheek. âWell, do you really want to go dancing right now?â she asked, a little concerned still. âI mean, we can go if you want, but you might need to rest a bit.âÂ
He leaned into her hand, lips pressed to her palm but not exactly kissing. Suddenly his lips quivered in thought and he shook his head slightly. "Not where it's noisy, anyways," he added.Â
He was quiet for a long time, thinking of something deep. "Erin," he whispered, after a while, voice nearly inaudible. "Thank you."
