“You don’t look like anything I’ve seen from the warp? Who or what are you” @crimson-templar-chapter-master
@crimson-templar-chapter-master
"Well I'm not a daemon, at the very least. At best, I may call myself a ghost. My name is Maeddrona."
She arches her brow, smiling bemused. "If you'd rather fight, then go ahead. I was acting on the idea of getting to our destination sooner rather than later." She then lifts her arm slighty, hand still on his armor, asking if she should drop the veil.
He breathes deep and sighs “you may be right, we probably shouldn’t but I’d like to see you in combat” he smiles, almost tauntingly “I’m never one to pass up a fight, especially against these particular Xenos” he says as he begins pushing her forward slightly “this ones on you, should you choose to accept”
"I have no weapons." She warns, but grins all the same. "But that is little difference." She steps forward, dropping their guise and sprinting with an inhuman velocity at the necron party, hands like knives through their being. Where she hit leaving nothing at all in their wake. She took out two with this, one separated from the body at the neck, the other cut in half at the torso.
In the mere moments she has after she grabs one of the dropped guns, disappearing from their sight as she steps through the void only a short distance away, firing upon them.
Of all the things the Emperor possessing her granted, the ability to draw upon vast amounts of strength and power was very handy.
He just stared, wide eyed as he watched the Necrons get torn apart. “that’s not going to be enough” he mumbles to himself as he sits and awaits the Necron reconstruction. But it doesn’t happen. He just stares in disbelief at the speed and ferocity of the attack. “Nice job” he laughs nervously, secretly slightly afraid “you got them all, they won’t get up from that”
She blinks, taken back by how... easy that was. The weapon drops and she walks back, noticeably slower. Eyes tired. "Good, I spent a lot pulling that off..." she huffs, laughing all the same. "On our way, then? Sorry I didn't save any for you."
He laughs slightly while regaining his composure “yes.. yes let’s” he begins to lead her to a nearby landing pad “you know you could do some real evil stuff with power like that” he says in a joking way “we’ll go to a Thunderhawk and then get to to a cruiser, they have real nice crew quarters. Or if you wouldn’t want to share with the crew there are private quarters, the captains dead so his place is free” he says this surprisingly casually
She is about to chuckle, but it catches in her throat at the casual mention of the captain being dead. "I'm fine wherever, really. Just give me a bed... and don't be alarmed when i sleep for a week."
"Or my heart stops beating."
"I'm being kept alive by the Emperor, but this body is very much temporary and doesn't work when it doesn't need to." She mentions just as casually, following along. She keeps pace, but seems to be a bit more sluggish than usual.
"I have done fairly ... bad things with this power, though I suppose that's all relative to point of view in the galaxy."
“You won’t die under my watch, I personally like to keep people alive” he says as he checks that she’s following, that is until he stops and narrows his eyes while turning to her “what bad things have you done with your power? I’m just curious”
Her steps are a bit clumsier, though she treads along easily enough. "Entire planets, population and all, gone." Maeddrona answers grimly, looking up to him with a heavy and tired gaze. As if the weight of such actions could be conveyed through just her eyes.
He looks down at her and shakes his head as he turns back around “things like that happen if you have too much power”. He kicks a corpse out of his path as he looks down at it “I’ve seen it time and time again” he looks down “let’s get moving, you’d want to get to the ship quickly”
"I did have too much power," She shrugs and picks up the pace to follow him. "I'm fairly weaker now, can only disappear a few people at a time. And anything else of the same mass."
"Funny, that The Emperor is possessing me and I am weaker than I once was." She didn't laugh, but there was a small lit of amusement to her voice as they trudged along the snow.
He looked down at her as he walked effortlessly through the snow “so you’re saying you were once more powerful than you currently are?” He said with his hand resting on his sword
“If I didn’t know better I’d call you a greater Daemon” he said with amusement in his voice, clearly trying to break any tension
She arches a brow, arms crossed as she stares in amusement. "How so? Through my loss of power or my existence through a shard of the Emperor?" Her steps are even, but even as she stares her gaze droops for a moment. Exhaustion quickly settling over her after her display of power.
“Well Maeddrona, you are technically a warp entity” he continues his walk, not noticing her exhaustion “I’d just call you a living saint, since that’s what you technically are”
Living her mind scoffed, making an effort to keep up. "I suppose. I can't do much in his name, however. He only wants me to reach Terra and die once i've delivered this shard." She gives a pessimistic shrug. "Not much of a saint, really."
“Is there really no way for you to live?” He asked in a shocked tone “that’s an extremely cruel fate!”
He finally point to a castle “we’re here” he turns to her “listen, once we get inside you’ll need to identity yourself. Be prepared to be worshipped if you choose to say the truth”
Her expression turns sour, choosing to not respond to the question as she looks to the castle. "Is there anything I could say to not be worshiped? I don't like the idea... i'd prefer a lower profile." She then looks to her form, glowing and golden. "...as unrealistic as that may be." She sighs.
Noticing her avoidance of the question, he decides to leave it “there is a possible way you could avoid it” he roots around inside a crater on the group, pulling out a wet and muddy cloak “put this on, if it’s not too much bother, you’ll blend right in” he says with a satisfied smile plastered on his face
She stares at the cloak before quickly grabbing it, pulling it around her form and covering as much glittering gold as she can, holding it close to her being. "Better than nothing, atleast." She nods, satisfied with the disguise. "Thank you."
“It’s the least I can do” he says while knocking on the gate “I hate to ask another favour but can you cover our backs while I contact the gate operator”
“He is simply a regular human and therefore needs rest so that’s what he might be doing”
She gives a knowing hum, nodding as she turns to keep an eye on the clearing. "I.. will try. I have no ranged attacks to speak of, though."
He raises an eyebrow in disbelief, obviously unnoticed under his helmet “you have the power of our Emperor within you, I’m sure you’ll think of something”
As the gate begins to open he turns to Maeddrona “I must warn you that, in the event that we do come into danger at any point, I will have to be... overzealous, in your protection. I swore an oath to The Emperor many years back and I intend to keep it”
She lets out a soft sigh, not about to go into why she is not fully blessed with power, or how much she exhausted herself. "You need not go overboard. I have survived Millennia in the warp. But I appreciate it, I will be unused to... any reactions people will have to my identity."
He shakes his head slightly, laughing quietly. “I cannot promise anything, if you contain even a fragment of The Emperor I must protect it!” He decides against going into detail about what was technically indoctrination
“You know, you could technically rule the Imperium. You are quite literally a goddess. The Emperor himself said that he wasn’t a god and look at the glorious empire he created! Imagine what you could do”
he lowers his voice and looks around “some would call what I say heresy, but I need not worry, what will an inquisitor do against a Watcher of The Throne”
Her sigh is soft- she is not one fit for ruling, she never has been. And she knows what awaits her future, she will likely detach from the shard and fade. "Ruling truly isn't my forte," she confesses. "I'm simply trying to make my way to Terra."
He nods understandingly “you will reach Terra, you can be sure of that” he promises her “at least I hope”
“You previously mentioned that you’ll die if The Emperor is restored, how will that happen?”
