Fiction and art are important because they offer us space to think about things we are “not supposed” to think about. They allow us to form honest, well thought out opinions of things we are not always free to publicly mention being curious or unsure about.

That is why I think “art,” DEFINED BROADLY TO INCLUDE POP CULTURE AND FANWORK ALIKE, is important to humans as a species and as a group with culture.

It’s just so unexpected that this man is good with children, that he’d even smile at one.

Like idk how this scenario would work but I like to picture him in a situation where a child can approach him and the parents are around like nononono don’t talk to that guy he’s Important and could have us killed. But they’re too close and he’s already noticed the kid. And the kid like. Hands him an empty cup and says “I made you some tea” and without hesitation he pretends to drink it and thanks her.
