Raiden's current loadout is vastly different from the one he utilizes in canon.
Maverick Security's loadout usually follows a standard outfit of a couple select types of grenades, five units of repair paste and two units of electrolytes. Everything else is either acquired on the battlefield, or is given for a specific purpose.
Desperado's loadout is much more offensive, and personalized to its user. This allows Raiden to approach any objective from multiple angles--outfitted with two swords, with the second option usually falling between a tanto or a wakizashi. His sword is interchangeable between the standard HF Machete, HF Longsword, and Samuel's Sword, which is his main preference. He can either wield a firearm, or some form of secondary weapon which usually mimics one of his comrade's weapons.
Sam's sword is Raiden's main weapon, and for good reason--it uses its own pool of electrolytes, allowing prolonged use on the battlefield. The sword's attacks completely depend on Raiden's will; he simply needs to channel varying amounts of energy into the sword, for the desired effect, which can either be quick and effecient cuts, or wide, sweeping arcs of energy that melt through whatever they touch.
Both Tanto and Wakizashi are a crude copy of Sam's sword, but they both serve their purpose just fine, either as a main weapon or a fall-back weapon.
His choice in firearms widely varies, but it's rare that his hands ever come to rest upon a gun... When he can help it, that is. Comfort zones usually fall within the nine-millimeter to forty-five ACP, but he's shown proficiency in all forms of firearms.
Raiden's recruitment into Desperado wasn't standard, by any means. Prior to the events of 2018, Raiden encountered Mistral--his current supervisor and self-appointed personal antagonist--and after a heated battle, was defeated. Broken, bloody and bruised, he was forced to thank her for not leaving him there to die, and instead was dragged back to World Marshal roughly around the same time as Sam's recruitment.
There wasn't enough room for two new additions to the Winds, so to solve this issue, both Sam and Raiden were pit against each other in a Fight to the Death. Winner gets to stay alive, and claim the empty space in the Winds of Destruction.
Raiden wasn't going to let himself die after his most recent brush with death, even if it meant dispatching someone who's only mistake was being in the--relatively--same circumstances as him.
And it wasn't easy, by any means.
Sam made sure of that, and when all was said and done, left Raiden with a reminder of his undeserved accomplishment... His sword.

DESPERADOㅤRAIDEN
The man is strange--he's unlike anyone that the Ripper has met since he was deployed into this strange environment. Simple 'scouting mission' they said... What he failed to realize is that he was being thrown into the front door of hell, and the door was locked behind him shortly after. The single red eye slowly shifts, technology that's visible beneath the iris twisting and adjusting to bring the man into focus--analyzing the details of his facial structure and storing them for easy identification from a distance, should he need it.
"...Are you a Desperado Associate?" Spoken, as he adjusts the right sleeve of his trench coat, which gradients to a crimson red near the bottom of both sleeves and the coat itself.
Analysis of data was her secondary expertise, utilized heavily in the hive like nest of World Marshal. She was the spider, lurking until specific threads were tugged, her crawling ascent marked with the sharp clicks of steel heels. Her stilettos send the more mouse like employees skittering, the flanking of only two gekkos furthering the radius that the staff give her. The elevator vacates the moment she interest in entering, the beeping communication and the tapping of synthetic digits the only noise in the shaft, the gekkos sent on their way at a middle level as she continues to ascend.
The notification of the Liberian’s arrival was noted immediately, no pause taken in queuing her work to greet him. His missions were supervised by the youngest Wind, though information still remained classified until Monsoon relented to her presence again. That was a temporary set back, easily bridged as she waits for the floors to fly away. The softest caress to her bosom leaves a man staring as the doors part, his eyes following till her knife flashes behind her posterior, the flutter of his heartbeat bringing a frigid smile to cocoa features.
He was a chilling thing, but not in the sense of cold. The skin that lacks pigments like her own is glanced upon, the gauze that is somehow paler noted as well. Every step she takes brings a rock of gracious hips, her proximity growing as teal clashes with maroon, dark lashes fluttering at his greeting. “Jack" His informal greeting is returned with the same grace, a bloody hand lifting in turn. She comes close- only to pass- her stride not slaking in a bit. "Your mission report has not been submitted yet." Digits clench about carmine, smoothing the garish hue in comforting black as she continues on, rich eyes glancing behind her to monitor his movements. "Tell me, how did you get that bande on your head?"
Every movement is taken into account, during her steady approach. The cyborg continues to stand motionless, single eye tracking her with a sweeping motion just before she passes out of his field of view. The subtle rocking motion of her hips was distracting to many, but he seems to maintain a cold, dead lock upon her face for as long as he can see her. "There is a thing called patience." Straight forward. Just like most of his answers to any question he's received.
However, his callousness is not just directed towards her--everyone else receives the same treatment, position all but ignored. "If you really want to nose around in my statistics, just wait until the Field Tech submits my data..." There's probably no variation to the data, but it's always worth marveling over. No survivors, no collateral damage. Not a scratch to mar the red and black color scheme of his body.
A clawed hand rises to sweep snow white hair to the left--over the bandage, clearing the vision of his right eye. The technology within twists, and the image of his world sharpens a small, yet noticeable degree...
His head turns, and gazes lock. "I got careless. Why so curious?"

The first step off the helicopter is taken with a small amount of relief. Air travel is still one of his least preferred methods, uncaring of the fact that it's 'the most efficient manner of transporting units'. The visor shifts back with a loud click, revealing pale face and glowing red eye. The cloth wrapped around his head hides an ugly wound, but it's nothing new. The whistling and whipping winds tug at the tails of his trench coat, as he slowly walks across the catwalk that leads inside, into the internals of the military section of World Marshal.
The medium-sized crowd of soldiers and workers parts for the newest Wind without hesitance--something that he doesn't complain about. It's easy to navigate the halls, and it's rare enough to where it does not bother him. The crowd is already thinning out--apparently a very specific series of tests is taking place, requiring only a small amount of people in one place to run efficiently.
It's only when he's alone, that he hears the soft clicking of heels upon the metal floor...
Raiden shifts the sheath that contains Muramasa to his back, angled just over the left shoulder for easy access, and so that it remains out of the way. It's only a brief instant, before the woman rounds the corner--bright pink hair, dark skin, and the distinct absence of any Gekko arms.
"Mistral." Spoken without hostility, but lacking any sort of positive emotions.
