i’m sorry but the idea of dream not being able to decide whether he wants cdnf or xdnf to be canon is so funny. like i imagine him looking at piles of art for both ships deliberating over which one he likes better. he’s pacing around his office letting out frustrated sighs as he floats with indecision

the idea of c!dream running to the forest after he ditched c!sapnap bc it felt like the safest place to stay hidden in and he sees c!george amongst mushrooms and moss and vines and he’s sleeping and c!sapnap was lying slightly bc c!george just disappears sometimes and because he does come back every once in a while he thinks he’ll just let him do his own thing but c!dream thought he’d be in kinoko and seeing c!george stuns him so much he can’t move and he kind of just drops to his knees and stares at him not knowing if he should wake him or not… and then he feels this blinding energy and a familiar god who he saw in his dark days is floating over c!george protectively

the DreamXD lore the way the server is encompassed in DreamXD who is influenced by Dream which makes him partial to george which keeps george sleeping and protected and safe and chasing after a different Dream, a Dream that DreamXD mimics but cannot become, who learned love from observation only. and to george DreamXD is just an echo of someone he loved in his past and to DreamXD george is one of the first humans he ever saw. he was the first human receive the words "i love you" + hes one of his only friends. can you hear me

ohhh my god the way dreamxd saw dream and wanted the one thing he couldn’t have as a god — love — and when dream couldn’t be there for george dreamxd stepped in because something inside of him calls out to protect george from harm and he can’t understand why george is so hesitant to trust him and let him close - he even looks like george’s old companion, wears his face, has part of his essence running through godly veins - so what’s the problem?

Okay and what if cdream is causing all this pain and terror in an attempt to keep XD entertained. All the elaborate schemes and plots and double crossing and always needing to be one step ahead is all just to guarantee someone else is faultering. Maybe XD pressured him to, or maybe cdream just knows what will happen if he falls bored. XD is a GOD he can wipe the server, take everyone's lives and start over without a second thought and maybe it's easier to hurt a few people in the long run than to risk the entire world. We all know cdream only sees his conflict as a means to an end. And wether he's conscious of it or not cdream got corrupted and caught up in his role and instead of being a player like everyone else he sees himself as nothing but an extension of that godhood.
