The semester looms in front of Chris, long and a whole lot lonely. He’s never started a semester dreading it. College, in general, has exceeded every expectation that he’s had. From the first semester of feeling like he was stepping into a new skin, to falling in love for the first time and deciding what he wanted to do with his life, every semester until now has felt like some new kind of adventure.

This time it just feels like school. Like a schedule and classes to go to and work to be done and almost like it’s just a filler, though he’s not sure what he’s really filling the time for. Not Darren to come back - well, yes, that, but at the same time not really. He wants something else, something more.

He’s gotten used to forward momentum and he’s not ready to plateau yet.

It’s not really about the movie, it’s more about the relaxing, about the being quietly together, and Chris can feel his eyelids getting heavier.

But he can also feel something hard in Darren’s pants.

“Seriously, Darren?” Chris throws a half-amused, half-annoyed look over his shoulder. He was seriously looking forward to a nap. Darren furrows his eyebrows, and, damn, actually does a really good job of looking confused.

Darren is practically vibrating with energy and need by the time they get back to the apartment. He tosses a wad of bills at the driver, not caring for his change as he tugs his arm where Chris is still holding on, pulling him along. “I want— need—” he starts but Chris just cuts him off with a searing kiss.

Getting inside is a little bit more problematic. Chris might have sobered up a little in the drive home but kissing Darren is still intoxicating, and neither of them want to let go long enough to get anything done.

Let's Have A Ball

I originally started writing this for Becca, who wanted a CrissColfer fic based on this video. But it also fit today’s theme for CC Week (First Meeting AU), so I decided to finally finish it.

Chris has never seen anything like it before.

Well, that’s not entirely true—he was a little kid, once, and generic birthday parties and McDonalds just weren’t the same without ball pits. But it’s been a decent amount of years since he’s seen one, and he’s certainly never seen one set up on Venice Boulevard (in fact, it shouldn’t be weird, because it’s in Venice and Chris has certainly seen stranger).

“Take a seat and make a friend,” Ashley reads out loud from the banner stretched above it. “Huh.”

“Who would do that?” Chris asks, because it’s absolutely empty right now. “Can you imagine how many people have sat in there? Or slept in there?”

“Well. This is Venice,” Ashley agrees, and both of them watch as a shirtless man covered in silver paint skates by blowing bubbles. “Or maybe everyone thinks the same thing as you, and so no one’s even touched it.”

“Didn’t they get rid of ball pits because they were like incredibly unsanitary?”

“Probably, and Chuck E. Cheese never suffered a greater loss. Seriously, when was the last time you were in a ball pit?”

“I can’t even remember, it’s been that long.”

“Shut it, baby, you’re making me feel old.”
