It's not his hair I'm worried about, he doesn't need a shave, a trim at worst. Hair isn't alive, there isn't any blood flow. Horns have blood flow in them.
Tubbo walked in looking disheveled and there was something on his horns and in his hair that seemed unnatural (probably something lizzie will have a fit over). He however had a big smile as he ran and hugged joel. It wasn't an often occurance that the little guy hugged joel.

Joel stumbled back a bit before enveloping Tubbo in a tight hug, clinging to him as if he couldn't believe his boy was back. "Tubbo..." he mumbled before pulling back, looking the kid up and down. He raised an eyebrow.
"What happened to..." he trailed off before sighing. He pulled a towel out of his pocket and tried to clean Tubbo up. "Are you okay? Me and your mother have been worried sick."
"Don't need all what?" he echoed, raising an eyebrow as he dared Tubbo to continue his sentence. When there was no add-on, Joel just sighed. He narrowed his eyes at the sculk, placing his head on the back of the boy's head as he pulled him closer.
"That looks like it's stuck on good. I don't even know what it is." Joel quickly tried scrubbing it off again to no avail, only further staining his own hands. He wiped it off on his apron before turning towards the stairs.
"Lizzie! I need you for something!" Joel called for his wife, regardless of what Tubbo might have to say about it. He was certain she'd know whatever that weird substance was.
"That's definitely not glitter," he says from where he's standing beside the two. He stepped out of the way when Lizzie barged in and ran over to Tubbo. Joel picked at the gunk on his hands, raising an eyebrow at the odd texture.
"Wh- What!?" Joel shook his head quickly, glancing between the two. "Now that's just not- Just not true! Don't drag me into this, young man. I know you're trying to turn the blame on me so we move past what you did."
"Um well.. you know mum. Sometimes when you go for a walk to tommys... you get kidnapped by a mysterious bear-vex man covered in goop with a serious grudge against our good family friend grian. Who just happened to show me footage of when I was trapped as a kid. And you know sometimes we escape on our own." His voice was very squeaky at the end.
"And now all this stuff is in my horns and i can feel it wriggling and it's really icky. But like none of this is a huge deal."
Joel looked at his now clean hands, letting out a long sigh of relief. He didn't like how the goop had felt on his skin. He mumbled a quick "thank you" before placing his hands on his hips. At the sound of Tubbo's rambling, Joel turned to face him.
"I'm sorry. What?" Joel was appalled by what he was hearing. Tubbo was kidnapped? "Hold on. You were kidnapped? Tubbo. What... You can't just skip past that. What do you mean you were kidnapped?"
Tubbo walked in looking disheveled and there was something on his horns and in his hair that seemed unnatural (probably something lizzie will have a fit over). He however had a big smile as he ran and hugged joel. It wasn't an often occurance that the little guy hugged joel.

-Although she hated to be seeing her in almost the same way as the first time they’d properly met, Pearl knew this was for the best. When she went to the cafe she had *tried* to talk herself out of it, but Joel insisted she would be fine if she talked to Lizzie. So here she was, knocking on her door again.-
-Pearlo
Lizzie was doing.... Something on her computer. Honestly she wasn't even sure what, the city had sent her paperwork to finally get the iron fire escape replaced, but it felt impossible to parse through all the human legalese.
She needed a break. When she heard an unannounced knock on the door she sighed in relief despite the interaction meaning she needed to shift more human again as she walked to open the door.
"Oh, Pearl right? what are you doing here again so soon?" She tried not to sound too accusatory.
-Even though she knocked on the door expecting an answer it still startled her slightly when it opened, she was always way too jumpy about these things. She smiled awkwardly as she answered Lizzie.-
Sorry I know, it’s only been a few days..I just um, you’re one of the few people I know who seems like they would know something about this problem I’ve been having so I figured I could come ask about it.
If you’re not too busy of course, it’s not that big of a deal…
Lizzie paused for a moment when Pearl flinched, not sure if she should worry or not.
"No, I've just been trying to understand some city contracts, so I'm not too busy," Lizzie pulled the door open and gestured to the same couch as the last time Pearl had visited (though a bit cleaner than before).
-Pearl entered, going to sit on the couch that Lizzie had gestured to. She was still a bit weary to be in Lizzie’s space and at the idea of talking about her issue again, but she knew this was the best thing for her to do at the moment.-
Ah..I assume that’s fun. I hate all the paperwork myself.
"I'm not sure it's even worth it honestly, I've been trying to get the city to have," she gestures vaguely at her computer, "this taken care of for years now, and no matter how many forms I fill out it's like the conjure up new ones!"
-She could see how the situation was a bit frustrating for Lizzie, having sympathy at her dealing with that. When she reminds me I had something to ask her I’m quiet for a few moments as I figure out how to word this, hoping to explain myself in a more effective way than last time.-
Well..I wanted to know if you’ve ever had any experience or know of any condition where you would see or feel something that isn’t there.
Lizzie tensed breifly and felt her wings twitch beneath their blanket of glamour. She didn't breathe for a few seconds, before shaking her head slightly and refocusing.
"Is this a mental health thing or a... Magical thing?" Lizzie whispers the word magical, nervous about speaking it out loud with an almost-stranger even in her own home.
I-I don’t know…it wouldn’t be the first magical thing to happen with me, but I don’t really know much about that stuff…
-She was slightly cautious seeing how nervous Lizzie felt about such a subject, not knowing if it was somehow bad or not. But maybe she could be right..? Pearl wasn’t one to judge someone by appearances, but Lizzie was definitely a lot more mystical than most..just her aura alone giving that off.-
"The Sight," Lizzie's face makes a strange expression, "is an ability that some humans have that lets them see things... Hidden from them by powerful beings, like fae or gods."
-Pearl thought about this idea of “seeing things hidden”. Although it didn’t really seem like the answer to her visions, she still was curious about this ability.-
-She doesn’t particularly understand the instructions, but nevertheless she goes to focus on Lizzie intently. Pearl doesn’t know what she’s looking for particularly…but it couldn’t be that hard.-
What’s missing..how..how do I know if it was missing in the first place, should something appear?
-Pearl focuses harder, looking for any sort of non-human signs that could appear. As she went through different things in her mind that she’d seen on other faes. Eventually she could vaguely make out some outlines of features, it surprising her.-
So..your ears were hidden, and I think I can make out wings behind you. I don’t know it’s still a bit fuzzy, but I think I see it…
"That's right. There's a few other things, but those are the biggest." Lizzie lets her glamour drop, though she doesn't shift any closer to her true form.
Long antenna tipped with the same green as her wings perk up from her hair, and her insect-like wings shift behind her.
"Being able to see through it at all without me letting you is The Sight. I'm not totally sure if it's what your problem is but... It might be connected!"
Well..whether it’s connected or not it’s really cool that I have that at least, I honestly don’t think I ever would’ve questioned it before…
-Her mood was lifted slightly from when she’d first arrived, her smile finally returning fully as she thought about this gift. She had to try not to let her gaze linger on Lizzie’s antenna or wings too much once she dropped the glamour, not because she found them weird but more since she was fascinated by them.-
I understand, not personally, but many of my closer friends are hybrids so I know it can be difficult for you living in a place like this…
-Pearl sighs as she looks down at her hands, fidgeting with them slightly as she thinks about this. It was true..although the hybrids could live freely it wasn’t always easy, on the legal side or with the public. It reminds her a bit of herself, though she of course appeared fully human most of the time.-
I may not know what it’s like being a fae, or being able to control magic, but I used to be..less human I suppose. It can be difficult being different.
"Well of course I could! High fae have much better noses than any hybrid or lower fae," Lizzie pauses and hums in thought, "You know, you do smell similar to a friend of mine. One of the ones who was here the other day."
Lizzie tilts her head to the side and looks at Pearl, "Did you have wings at some point?"
-Although she hated to be seeing her in almost the same way as the first time they’d properly met, Pearl knew this was for the best.
