For today's lesson I got to pick out two pieces of paper from plastic raffle bags. These two pieces of paper were picked at random and had what I would have to be inspired by for my future illustrations of a practical yet funky and unique uniform for makeup artists. When I pulled out two pieces of paper from the bags I got the artist movement Fauvism and Ariana Grande's Viva Glam campaign. I was instructed to firstly do 9 mood boards about the topics: M.A.C.A cosmetics, Viva Glam, Diversity (Age, Size, Gender, Race, Disabilities), my chosen at random art movement and of course my chosen at random iconic campaign. I made each of my mood boards look unique and specific whilst keeping a similar theme. In the future, I will then use these mood boards and pieces of information to complete 8 design looks supported with samples and spec drawings.
What is M.A.C cosmetics?
M.A.C cosmetics is a very well known and global brand known for it's range of products for all races.
In 1984 M.A.C cosmetics was established in Toronto Canada by Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo.
M.A.C cosmetics is aimed at every- inclusivity is involved and diversity is supported.
"All Ages, All Races, All Genders" is their famous headline.
Viva Glam and What is it?
Viva Glam is a charitable campaign which came about 1994.
It supports the rights of women, girls and the LGTBQIA+ communities as well as supporting the fight against AIDS AND HIV.
Viva Glam has collaborated with many celebrities, designers and ultimate legendary icons.

Art Movement: Fauvism. What is it?
Fauvism is an art movement which flourished and was brought up in France.
From 1905 to 1910 so it was very short lived and definitely didn't last long.
Fauvism comes from the french term "les fauves" which translates to the wild beasts. You can tell this by the wild and expressive artwork Fauvism shows.

Ariana Grande's Viva Glam Campaign
Ariana Grande is an American singer, songwriter and actress who is mostly known for her high vocal range and famous whistle note. She primarily became famous from the past show on Victorious in 2010 to 2013.
In 2015 (late October) Ariana Grande and M.A.C cosmetics announced their first collection with her which launched in 2016.
This collection promoted a matte plum lipstick and a baby pink lip gloss which took inspiration from 'naughty sides' and 'good sides'.
At this time Ariana Grande was only 22!
All funds from this campaign went to charity to support men, women and children with AIDS/HIV.
Ariana Grande is the latest celebrity to be named a Viva Glam ambassador and given her own makeup collection.
I believe that these upcoming weeks with this project given to me will be very fun and incredible to do as it really involves artistry, diversity and inclusivity! I will also be able to learn and practice my skills for future upcoming exams! Doing these mood boards will also help me understand M.A.C cosmetics as a client, help me understand their ethos and better yet, make me an improved designer! This will overall, help me gain more knowledge for me in the fashion industry and the future of fashion.
