truthfully, it’s taken and will continue to take a few weeks to ever grow accustomed to this new place. even with the presence of most of her teammates, this could never become a home. despite having traveled to beacon from patch and finding a second home there, this place… ruby’s not sure what to make of it. people seemed friendly at first but… it just, everything was too different for her liking. confusion is all that muddles her mind, and she’s not doubt not the ONLY one.
in the cookie isle of one of the local mini marts, ruby rose was trying her best to make a grim situation better. and what else better to replace a miserable longing to see her friends again and continue on their arduous mission to atlas? nothing, it had to be cookies. chewy, chunky, fudge and chocolate chip – her body sways just thinking about the flavors and textures in her mouth. she almost wanted to rip open the packages to eat them right here and right now. but a huntress had to learn to control herself; she should save it for when the crumbs could fall onto a safe cape on her lap – when she was in the comfort of her new room.
with the most innocent grin plastered on her features, she almost doesn’t recognize the person down the isle. a tall blonde donning his favorite pumpkin pete hoodie! ❛ jaune! jaune !! ❜ shifting the boxes upon boxes of cookies into one arm, she waves vigorously at the other. perhaps her yelling wasn’t loud enough or something, but – eyeing the shopping cart in front of her, she quickly dumps all the boxes inside. oh no.. oh yes! cold hands grip tightly on the handle of the cart as a boot pulls backwards, revving up the temporary vehicle. a smirk flashes before she kicks off, hopping onto the bottom ledge of the cart, sending her soaring full speed towards the other.

Despite being, well, for lack of a better word, trapped in a strange city, things honestly don’t seem all that bad. Sure, the circumstances aren’t amazing, but things can certainly be much worse. After all, it seems as though more and more of his friends are showing up, even Pyrrha. And then there are people he’s not so excited to see either. But, in spite of everything, at least he’s given free shelter and has easy access to anything he needs to live a...normal life, or as normal as it can get in a place like this. Though a normal life isn’t really something’s he’s ever experienced for himself.
His stomach rumbles rather loudly as he quickly finds himself in the closest mini mart he can get to. I guess it has been a while since I’ve eaten, may as well try and pick something up. He knows that he should probably try and eat something healthy, and he does intend to, but his train of thought is interrupted when he finds the aisle packed with sweets as far as the eye can see. It’s so incredibly tempting... Chocolate, gummies, cookies, licorice, pretty much any kind of thing he can think of, it’s here.
“Maybe just one little chocolate bar...” he quietly says to himself as he’s about to reach for the chocolate bar. However, before he does, he finds himself interrupted once more, this time by a voice he’s honestly been hoping to hear again. He lifts his head as his eyes glimmer with warmness at the sight of his friend. On one hand, it’s sad that she’s stuck here too, but on another, he’s overjoyed to see one of his closest friends.
“R-Ruby? Hey! I’m really glad to see--” he shouts at her, immediately becoming aware of his friend coming at him with such intense speed, mounted on a shopping cart. His eyes grow wide with terror as adrenaline immediately takes over his body, letting him just barely get out of the way of the speeding metal death cart.
Huffing and puffing for a moment, he dusts himself off for a moment before collecting himself and quickly rising to his feet. “I really wanna say that I’m shocked you nearly ran me over with a shopping cart, but I’d be lying if I did. Just uh, try not to kill me again, please?” he pleads teasingly before walking up to the red hooded girl before pulling her in for a hug. “I’m really happy you’re here.”
