I was thinking about the iconicity of gracyn's fuckass bob, because it's not like she's the only compdance kid to have one. there was a whole generation of molly's monsters who all had fuckass bobs. but i don't know if it's the hair thickness or the specific bowl cut she has or maybe just the insane amount of time she had a bob for or what. i just truly don't think there has ever been a bob as fuckass as gracyn's

this is the finals comp for soloists
the top 3 are invited to recompete their solo during the challenge
winner announced at the gala
ALL STAR
the is the ovation title
25% solo and 75% audition
top 20 are announced, and top 6/7/8 move on to improv
top 3 recompete their solo
dancers are ranked as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and announced at the gala
PROTEGE
this is the radix title
solo is 25% and multi-genre audition is 75%
at the challenge, the top 30 are announced
the top 20 learn a combo and perform it live on stage
from there, 8 dancers move on to the final cut for the individual interview and improv
the 4 protege winners are announced at the gala, and are based on the following criteria: 10% solo score, 10% final cut score, 40% multi genre audition, 40% challenge score
Now that nattys season has begun, here are a few reminders:
- These are all kids so be kind!
- Itās not a good look for us full grown adults to be raging about how kids we donāt even know performed
- donāt post anything negative on social media, most dancers are on TikTok and instagram (& their parent could be here on tumblr) and can see it
- Nationals is super scary, so mistakes happen, weāre all human
- these kids have a ton of pressure on them already, so be mindful of what you post (even if ur trying to be nice, saying something like āif you donāt win im quittingā could make someone feel pressured)
- if you think someone else shouldāve won, thatās fine but you really donāt need to say it publicly
- so much more than just the dance offs are considered in nationals so just because you think some people shouldāve placed higher in the dance offs, doesnāt mean thereās some sort of bias
- you can lift someone up without tearing someone else down
- everyone has worked the butts off the entire season for this so no matter who wins, they truly deserve it
- be ready for the crazy dance mom posts hehe
