hello, im crowmon, or yatagaromon whichever you prefer (she/her). here at my study I research many of the mysteries of the digital world unknown even to us digimon, though the main focus of my studies is on digivolution.

about me

Who am I?: as stated above I am a Crowmon (subspecies), Digimon and Digimon researcher. (btw no, I don't know anything about a "golden land" that is a myth about us as a species.)

Why do I research digivolution?: well, that has to do with a major event in my past which I will explain later down

Do I have a tamer?: no, and i'm not actively seeking one out at the moment.

Have I ever achieved stage-VI?: no, though not for lack of effort I've been trying for awhile but it just hasn't happened yet

Am I affiliated with any unions?: technically no, but tamer unions often contract me on jobs that deal with things in the region around me, most often team Nightcrow (yes, I see the irony)

what digivolution methods have I experienced: only two at the moment, regular digivolution and jogress digivolution.

how have I experienced jogress: and now we get to my past. you see many years ago there was a biyomon and hawkmon who were best friends and they looked up to the villages guardian, ravemon, as their personal heroes, sadly she would fall in the defense of their home.more attacks came on their home but the village would always fight them off, until one day when a karatenmon, corrupted by some foul computer virus attacked and destroyed most of their home. they were filled with a great rage and in the blink of an eye, I was born. this was what sparked my curiosity for digivolution, how can I go from being two entirely separate entities with their own consciousnesses into one being with only one? (btw no I do not have a double voice as is depicted often, that is actually a rare trait among jogress Digimon)

what is canon to this blog?: well, any game, movie or show is canon, BUT, only as in universe movies and shows (any game is a show for the sake of canon)

I was in a larger city nearby to stock up on supplies when I saw there was a festival on celebrating the bonds between human and digimon, so I stopped in to look around since I don't know to much about you humans and your culture. And I have to say, I am amazed by your deserts, they're nothing like what we have in the parts of the digital world I've been to. I simply must try them all

Oooo I highly recommend this thing the humans call “Cotton Candy” its like fluffy wool but you can eat it! It also comes in a lot of different flavors according to Harry.

I have to eat it fast though otherwise the warmth of my flames melts it somehow. (Still not sure how that works)

Cotton candy has been tried, along with just about everything else they had at the festival, and I have to say the "ice cream" was also pretty great. I do have a question though, should it feel like my veins are coursing with electricity?

Harry said thats normal if you eat a lot of dessert. Its called a “Sugar Rush” and it should wear off eventually.

He did say you might want to take a nap afterward though so maybe find a safe spot to nap for a bit!

I've learned that following a sugar "rush", there is also a "crash". I learned this because I apparently collapsed in the festival plaza, and a helpful elecmon had to jolt me awake. And even though I am currently sat in my study, barely awake, I can't help but want to learn more about you humans and your culture.

After a prolonged absence I am back to share more of my research into the x-antibody. And remember if any of you have questions about digimon or the digital world, I'd be happy to answer them as best I can

After I had finished with the initial tests with x-digimon I decided to run a few code scans. First of all, unlike many smaller viruses the x-antibody does not differ between. I refer to it as a virus due to its behavior and how it spreads via proximity. Additionally I found that the program is in a programming language that's rather similar to certain ancient languages found within many artifacts like the digi-spirits. While I have a few hypothesis, I am choosing to withhold them for the moment. The next step in my eyes is to visit ruins throughout the digital world and see if I can find anything relating to x-digimon.

So, it's been a few weeks, sorry about that. I've been dealing with some stuff related to my high-school graduation, and that's been eating up a lot of time, and I just never really had time to think about this blog. With that said, I'm glad to be back and posting should resume soon.

Do you remember back when the government tried to hide digimon from people? Like, we had made first contact with aliens and the aliens were cool but they just DIDNT want us to know?

Okay so I know this sounds crazy, but it is broadly true. I don't often go into politics on this blog, but this is a point in our history that shouldn't be forgotten and as someone who was alive, albeit pretty young, during the aftermath of DATS I want to make sure people understand where the current system of Unions and the Brigade came from so we never repeat those mistakes.

Let's take a trip back to 1998, when the first permanent Digital Gate opened in what is now the shared headquarters of the Night Crow and Light Fang Unions. Over night the entire world knew about Digimon. This wasn't the first time they had crossed over of course; they had actually been coming through smaller gates opened within personal computers for decades at that point and rumors had started circulating. Everyone was surprised that they were real, sure. I mean it's not everyday a rumor about friendly interdimensional aliens turns out to be true, but people are remarkably flexible when presented with irrefutable evidence. People adjusted to the idea that we aren't alone in the universe and began considering the idea of coexistence.

But unfortunately for everyone involved, some people crave control. And when faced with a variable that they could not control our world's governments pooled resources into a collaborative project, called DATS, which publicly billed itself as a liaison for the entire Digital World but in reality was meant to suppress information about Digimon and grassroots movements for Human/Digimon cooperation. Lies told by DATS included that the Digital World was uninhabitable for humans, virus type Digimon were inherently dangerous, and that high level Digimon would inevitably lose control of their powers and go on a rampage. Now, to you and I dear reader these claims are obvious nonsense but back then we simply had no idea and so DATS was allowed to continue their work unimpeded. In addition to these misinformation campaigns, DATS was also involved in a number of experiments on Digimon which I will not go into for the sake of maintaining a relatively level head about all this. Needless to say, they fucking sucked.

You're probably asking yourself, "If they basically had all the funding in the world and people's ignorance on their side, then why don't DATS still exist today?" and the answer to that is simple. They got cocky. Remember how I said that Digimon had been coming over for decades at that point? Well some of those Digimon and the humans they had managed to befriend managed to infiltrate DATS headquarters, which was conveniently located right on top of a Digital Gate big enough to let through some pretty massive Digimon. Digimon like the Royal Knights.

We're not exactly sure what happened next, but when the dust settled Omnimon made a decree: we were to either negotiate a way to live peacefully, or all Digimon were to leave Earth immediately. I won't go on about the following riots or the founding of the Union system we use now because this post is already way longer than I expected it to be but I want to leave you all with this: question the people in authority. I'm not trying to say there aren't good, honest people in the world who just have your best interest at heart, but I am saying that most likely those people aren't in your government. Compassion and community action should always take precedence over fear mongering, now and forever.

So I was finishing up some finishing up some daily chores around the lab when an stingmon came in and gave me strange object. It's a small it's a small statuette of wargreymon, he says he found it in an ancient ruin from about 2000 years ago (which for you humans in digital world timescale is comparable to bronze age ruins). that isn't what's strange about however, what is, is that it has a powerful aura about it. While I would like to study it more, I am currently in the middle of preparing for a visitor, and my x-antibody research so it will have to wait.

Sure, I actually had another similar object from on of stingmon's associates, though this one the demon lord beelzemon and they say that have evidence of at least five others, but they have not found them yet. I don't know what they are but they are powerful... whatever they do. Currently they just seem to sit there, menacingly.

As I will be having a visitor in the near future I felt like I should share my initial notes.

My early research into the x-antibody has mostly just served to confirm the findings of other research, that x-digimon have enhanced strength, speed, endurance, and other physical attributes to digimon without the x-antibody. However it has led to two new discoveries. 1) the enhancements caused by the x-antibody are not inherent to the program itself, instead it seems that it accelerates the rate at which a digimon can become stronger. And 2) not all digimon who have the x-antibody undergo the physical mutations associated with many x-digimon, but they will still exhibit the enhanced physical ability.

While I already have a few hypothesis relating to the x-antibody I will my research before sharing any of them

We’re settled in a bit now.

These days I’m sleeping in BanchoLeomon’s bed in his hut. (Surely this means nothing) I missed him a lot, so sometimes it’s nice to just… listen to him breathe.

Salt and Pepper are more than old enough to sleep in a room by themselves. I’m sure they appreciate the freedom. They’re getting along with the little kids. I think Salt prefers folks her own age, though.

So one of the asks I got a little while back (the x-antibody one) made me realize just how little both I, and a fair amount of the digital world know about what is, an incredibly common phenomenon. With this said over the next few posts I will be leaving my research into the x-antibody.

You know, I’m still not sure how I feel about humans taking up the Digimon Primary Care field… Especially having them watch large groups from hatching. No offense, but you lot seem a little underprepared to meet our cultural needs.

Hi, so sorry for the late answer, this one slipped by my notifications somehow.

And well.. I understand the concerns and yes, I alone would do... Rather poorly. But that's the key thing, I'm not. I have a lot of coworkers, Human and Digimon alike and we all help each other to make everything work out well. But I can understand if you're concerned about Humans taking care of younger Digimon, especially newly hatched ones. I hope it maybe eases your worries to know getting a job like this typically requires a lot of training, especially if you're a human. Gotta be part of a union, go to months worth of classes and tests and so on. I admittedly don't talk much about my job here... Tho maybe I should. And I know my partners definitely don't seem too fit for this work I suppose. But they do their best, usually they work sorta... Back stage i guess you could say, not directly but with stuff we'd need like supplies, equipment and stuff. Shoutmon is Rowdy yes but diligent, get him to commit to a task and he'll see it through. and Spadamon is always vigilant and has honestly an incredible memory, knows where everything is, everyone's names and so on, genuine life saver at times. But anyways rest assured at work everyone does their best to provide and make sure needs are met.

Hope all this helps out a little more faith in us. I guess I haven't talked too much about my job cause I don't quite think it's exciting or interesting? Outside of like that one accident a bit ago. But maybe I should talk about it more, I'm sure some would probably enjoy that.

I was thinking about getting involved at some point myself. This is what I used to do back home, y’see? I was one of the main caretakers in Primary Village. So I know a thing or two about kids.

I wonder if Digimon raised on Human Servers grow up differently than ones back home. And if they do, how different. There sure are a lot of folks on this website interested in the culture of my people and how we’ve changed since meeting humans, huh? I wonder if @crowmons-study has any thoughts here.

Well, I see it as almost entirely a good thing. So far it's proven to be overall beneficial to both groups, sure there will always be those who want to use digimon for bad, but there have always been digimon who use their own powers for bad too. And while I personally don't have a tamer, and am not seeking one at the moment, I can't argue that, for the kind of digimon who desire a tamer, they do a lot better than they would without.

Why were games like Digimon Story Daybreak/Moonlight made? Were they just advertisements for the Nightcrow and LightFang Unions?

Not really, those are just (from my knowledge) the largest tamer unions and so they were used. It's sort of like how humans put their own organizations into their media, at least that's how I see it.

Do you know what happens if data is removed from a digimon during evolution?

Well, we don't know. Since that is NOT an experiment that would be ethical or safe to test its just never been done. Though if I had to guess it could result in a numemon or sukamon (which if you digivolve into don't worry, it's a completely normal thing, it just happens sometimes.) However there is also the chance that it could just straight up delete the digimon.

soooo what is up with the x-antibody?? How does it really work??? Bc I don't understand how digimon like Darknightmon end up going up an entire stage with its effects while others don't. And how some digimon are just born with the antibody while others gain entirely new forms???

To put it simply the x-antibody is a program of unknown origin that causes mutations in certain digimon species and can spread via proximity to digimon who have it. However if you want more detail I know that @digimonirl has a really good post regarding it.
