“If you’ve let my club run into the ground you know I’m going to kill you right?” Alecto mused, a little smirk on her lips as she looked at her older brother. Technically Amycus was only older than he by a few minutes, but it did make him older. Alecto felt a lot more human now that she’d had a decent shower, and actually had something she considered clothes on. And there was also the fact that she aws miles away from Bellatrix Lestrange. If she didn’t have to see that blasted woman again, it would be too soon. She didn’t think she would ever forgive her for throwing her name in the mix when she hadn’t actually been involved. Alecto had indeed done a lot of bad things during the war, but attacking the Longbottoms was not one of them.
“I guess though that I still can’t really go there. Not unless I want to be caught. It’s where they’ll expect me to go.” @crownedcarrow

“Please, as if I don’t know better than that.” Amycus replied with a chuckle. Words couldn’t describe how relieved he was that Alecto was out of Azkaban and was safe. Though his anger about her being imprisoned in the first place hadn’t wavered any. He wanted to burn the place to the ground for allowing her to be put behind bars. But that wouldn’t solve anything. He had enough sense to know that him raging would only make things worse. So the best thing he could do was make sure that she stayed out of that place and that she stayed safe. He would raise hell if they tried to lock her up again.
“They probably expect you to be here as well. But we can figure something out.”
Amycus has always been a very well put together person. All of his lessons as a child stuck in his mind and so to others he was always a polite and well behaved boy who never put a toe out of line. But to those who knew him his temper shined through. He had a short fuse that he tried his best to conceal but now and again he can’t control it. He is very distant from everyone that isn’t his sister and he is quite happy with it being that way. He lets very few people get close to him. And he can tolerate the company of even less. The only time he tries to get along with anyone is while he's trying to achieve his own goals. He will use people and then toss them to the side as if they meant nothing. Which, to him, they usually did.
Growing up:
Right from a young age Amycus knew how easy he had it in life. And it was very clear that he was his parents favourite, though that didn’t really matter to him. But he couldn’t deny that it came with perks. He often got away with things that his sister couldn’t. But he knew better than to push his luck. He still had a role to play. And it was one he did perfectly. There was no doubting he was a picture perfect heir.
At school is when he realised he was a little different than the others in his year. And it was when his sadistic side really started to show through. He found himself enjoying whenever he got into a fight. And he enjoyed them even more when it was him that came out on top. Inflicting pain was one of the only things that made him feel anything. And so it was no surprise when he found himself being drawn to the group of kids that were whispering about a Dark Lord. Blood purity never truly meant anything to him. He thought he was better than others because of his upbringing. He had money, a better education than most, and the reputation that came along with it. Blood had nothing against hard work. Yet here was a reason to indulge in his guilty pleasures. And so he clung to the excuse of blood purity. And it helped that most on the side against him were far inferior to him for more than one reason.
During the war:
During the war Amycus put all his effort into helping out the Dark Lords cause. And the praise that he got from it was what he strived on. He quickly became one of the higher ranks and he enjoyed it. He enjoyed watching the world be in chaos and he enjoyed being the one to cause it. It gave him a drive in his life that he never truly had before. And he wouldn’t change any of it now that things are different.
When Voldemort fell, however, he was also one of the quickest to plead ignorance. He claimed that he was manipulated, that he was used, and he managed to convince those that doubted him that he was never on their side. It helped that he had taken up a position in the Obliviator department. His skills came in very handy when he tried to cover up what he had done. But he still knows he needs to play it safe. As much as he was a dedicated follower he refuses to go down for it. He’s much smarter than that.
The present:
As soon as Alecto was arrested and put into Azkaban Amycus knew he could no longer work for the Ministry. It was the one time in his life his parents have been disappointed in him but he truly didn’t care. He couldn’t work for a place that would not listen to reason. And he couldn’t see the people that had taken her away almost everyday and did not want to hurt him. So he quit his job as an Obliviator and instead went to take care of Alecto’s bar, waiting for her return. He hates it. Bar work is not what he was supposed to do with his life. But he will do it for her. And it’s an easy way to lay low for a while. He hates what the Ministry has become. And he hates who is in charge now. But he is prepared to just weather the storm until something better comes round.
However his skills as an Obliviator still come in handy now and again. Just because the Death Eaters aren’t around anymore doesn’t mean that he can’t still have his own kind of fun.
