Hold your Tongue
pxtterisms:
Harry’s eyes brightened. “Oh, now I remember…” he said. “You were with your mum last year, when I wasn’t sure how to get to the platform…” He was nervous during his time at the platform, not sure why there was a need to run towards the wall but seeing as how Fred and George did it without a scratch, Harry was glad he too was able to get there in time.
Harry wasn’t sure what to comment about the “blood traitor” bit, considering he stood up for Ron whenever Malfoy attempted to get him riled up. At first he wasn’t certain what the term meant but overtime, he found out that it was pretty much a slur.
“You’re not. Your family is great.” he said, looking into the fire. He hoped Ginny wasn’t going to suffer as much, although Harry have to admit. Slytherin or not. Being liked or not. He was completely happy being here at Hogwarts. it felt more like home to him that Privet Drive and he wanted to make the most out of it.
Ginny’s lip twitch became a full on smile as she started to remember the boys face. He was right she had been there last year with her mum and brothers. She vaguely remembered a boy her brother Ron’s age asking for help getting onto the platform. “Yeah,” She said softly, remembering it as if it happened a million years ago. “I remember that. Just be glad you didn’t ask Fred and George, They probably would have put a charm on your trolley to make it so the thing could go through the barrier.” She said with a slight chuckle. Her brother’s weren’t bad people they just enough laughing at things like that. Life should be amusing is something they always said to her.
“I definitely like them.” she said wistfully, growing bored of sitting here and talking even if this boy was as nice as she could expect in this house. Life should be amusing, repeated in her head over and over again. She turned a 180 on the couch to face the boy head on, his eyes on the fire as if he were expecting it to come alive. “Do you want to get out of here. these people are annoying and you seem half decent. I could really go for some pudding.”
