nyc nightlife style guide

FINALLY! This was LONG AWAITED. I get so many questions about what to wear out in New York City/how I dress to go out clubbing, etc. I’m linking below a few general ideas of what to wear, obviously all of these things can be styled however (usually with HEELS) and mixed and matched, etc. I’ve seen such an eclectic mix of styles and outfits from club to club, season to season and person to person. I’m a fairly simple person so these ideas are the most basic versions of what you can wear out in NYC. Note: these outfits apply mostly to clubbing in New York as opposed to bars, other. Another note: I am keeping this on the more inexpensive side because when I shop for club clothes I normally don’t like to spend a lot because I know the clothes may get dirty/ruined - if you have any follow up questions feel free to let me know! xx, -Steph 

Bodysuits: my going out go-to. they’re easy, comfortable and usually inexpensive lace up one two three halter one two three sheer/lace one two three

Dresses/Skirts: these are going to be extremely basic staples since there are so many types of dresses and styles out there LBD one two (you get the idea on this) mini pencil skirt one

Tops: crop tops/off the shoulder tops (obviously there are a lot of options) one two three 

Pants: to keep it safe with denim I would keep it on the darker side just to appeal to all dress codes  black denim one two ripped denim one two

Shoes: i’m going to list some basic staple shoes that i own/i think everyone should have in their nightlife selection (do not wear suede *or really any shoe* to the club unless you don’t care about them getting dirty/ruined!) one strap heel one two three lace up heel one two patent (easy to clean!) one two

Jackets: free coat check? yes please!! I hardly ever wear an actual winter coat to the club (even in bad weather) but here are some options to keep you semi-warm while outside at the door (also plz for the love of god do not leave your jacket in the seat storage someone will steal your shit) leather jackets one two three bomber jackets one two
