Hereās an example of my writing style if anyone wants to request something for me to write!
Thunder boomed outside causing Wally to make a noise of fear. He was hiding underneath a blanket fort that he and his darling neighbor made earlier that day. It wasnāt finished because once they had heard the raindrops hit Homeās windows, they bid him farewell and rushed home. No one was expecting a thunderstorm though, and certainly not Wally. Heād never experienced something like this before, it was terrifying.
He was tempted to call Barnaby or Eve, but it was too late in the night, theyād be asleep. Then he thought of you. He remembered that you tended to stay up late. Without thinking, he picked up the phone and called you. Wally was shaking now, his eyes were tightly shut. You had picked up, confused about why Wally was up so late.
Your voice was drowsy, but you werenāt tired. You
hear shaky breathing from the other side of the line.
-āH-Helloā¦neighbor..ā
You sat up quickly. Wally sounded terrified. Before you could ask what was wrong, thunder roared across the sky and you could hear a frightened cry come from Wally over the phone. It was quiet for a few seconds, the only sound being Wallyās quiet sniffing from the line. You broke the silence.
-āIām coming over.ā
It was all you said before hanging up. You quickly got out of your bed, tripping over your duvet. You hurriedly put on a jacket and shoes before rushing out of the house towards Home. Once the house saw you, it opened the door once you got close enough. You stepped inside, the door shutting behind you. Your jacket was drenched, and so were your shoes and hair.
-āWally? Where are you?ā
You called out as you hung your jacket on the coat rack. You headed for the stairs, thinking he was probably upstairs until thunder shook the house and you heard a yelp from underneath the blanket fort you both had built earlier that day. You made your way over to the fort, crouching down at the entrance. You started to reach out to look inside but hesitated, hearing the silent crying coming from inside.
-āWally..?ā Your voice was gentle, to not startle him. āMay I come in?ā
Instead of getting a response, thunder boomed once more, and Wally leaped through the entrance and landed on you. You fell back at the force, but you protectively wrapped your arms around Wallyās small frame. You opened your eyes and looked down at him; he was clutching your semi-soaked shirt for dear life, and even though his messy hair was covering most of his face, you could somewhat see that he was still crying. You unwrapped your arms from around him and cupped his face with both your hands, the size of your hands also covering his ears. You turned and lifted his head to look at you, he was a mess, he looked like heād been crying for hours. You smiled sadly at him and placed a kiss on his forehead. Your thumbs wiping away his tears and he took deep breaths to calm himself, only faintly hearing the thunder since your hands were covering his ears. No words were said, you both just sat in comfortable silence as you waited for the thunder to stop. After a couple of minutes, you noticed that Wally went limp in your grasp, looking back at him, you noticed he was now asleep and you smiled. You carefully picked him up and grabbed a blanket off the fort. Walking over to the couch you laid him down and covered him with the blanket before turning to leave, but before you could even reach for the knob, you heard Wallyās sleepy voice from behind you.
-āNoā¦ā His voice was just above a whisper, his eyes not even open but feeling your presence disappear. āStay..? Pleaseā¦ā
He mumbled drowsily, an arm lazily reaching out for you. Seeing him in this state pulled at your heartstrings and you gave in. Slipping off your now-damp shoes and socks, you made your way back over to the couch. Picking him up once more, you laid on the couch and placed him on your chest, which he gladly accepted, pressing his ear to your chest to listen to your heartbeat. You began running your fingers through his loose messy hair, softly scratching his scalp causing Wally to make a pleased sound at the back of his throat. You both fell asleep like that, comfortable and safe in each other's embrace, sleeping peacefully. No one else existed but you two in your own little world, full of love for eachother.
The next morning, you both were attached at the hip, Wally still recovering from the night before as loud sudden sounds scared him all day. Eve, Sally, and Julie had been poking fun at you both all day, giggling to each other and singing, āY/N and Wally sittinā in a tree! K-I-S-ā They never finished it though because either you or Barnaby shooed them away. But you knew they were just trying to cheer Wally up. And they did, so did you. Having you by his side is all he could ever ask for.
