kaede: ye must travel the countryside with inuyasha, collect the jewel shards, and save the world
kagome: what? no. i can't.
kaede: why child?
kagome: well for starters, i'm a cat person
inuyasha when naraku shows up: LETS KICK HIS ASS !!!!!!! !!!!!! !!!
inuyasha when sesshoumaru shows up:
I love how much respect InuYasha has for girls and how he tries to protect them. Like how he always bashes Miroku for womanizing, yells at Naraku not to put his dirty hands on Kikyo, and gets pissed tf off at Koga for humilating and trying to claim Kagome.
How he protected Sango from a Lord who thought he could just take her by force (season 2, episode 41). How he transformed (out of disgust) when he witnessed Gatenmaru, the moth demon, treat the village women terribly (Season 2, Episode 50 & 51). The insane strength he has when Kagome or his mother is involved. The empathetic softness he had towards Shiori (season 3, episode 73 & 74). His subtle concern for Kaede. He’s nice to Kagome’s mom. His actual sense of camaraderie with Kirara. I know she’s not a human girl but he still values her and treats her with the utmost respect.

Having ur main emotional response be crying is so embarrassing like ill be trying to explain why im mad or ill try having a serious convo abt smthn that upsets me and ill start crying like a baby and i have to like turn around and go “i am not crying 4 pity or to emotionally manipulate u im crying cuz im a little bitch, give me a sec”
I have this problem. A lot. And it used to suck to have people (my family especially) always use my crying against me in an argument-my dad would say I'm emotionally manipulative or that I'm throwing a tantrum and minimize my genuine arguments. But you know what helped?
Don't acknowledge it.
Just. I know you can't stop yourself from crying and your voice from cracking and your hands from shaking. If you're with someone you trust, I'd suggest asking for a break- tears mean you're reaching a breaking point, it means your body is trying to relieve the immense pressure.
But if you're not just... Don't acknowledge your own crying. Treat it like a sneeze or a cough. Keep talking through your tears, maintain eye contact. If your voice cracks, clear your throat, say "excuse me" and move on. Take deep breaths. Try and consciously relax your muscles one by one.
The worst part of crying during an argument is the feeling of being invalidated because of it and for me, specifically, it has helped so much to just not give the other person the chance to even bring it up. If they say "you're crying" I say "yes. Anyway" and keep talking about my main argument. I don't acknowledge them. We move on.
Ideally you don't have to protect yourself like that (crying shouldn't feel like a mistake, or like it makes you small and worthless), but honestly... Sometimes it's better than the alternative
This is excellent. I need to add something though: If you're crying in front of an autistic person, or any kind of neurodivergent person who can't read social cues, it might help to address it and explain it.
I was arguing with a friend, who got very distressed when I cried. I'm a big cryer, it's nothing for me. It even helps. My friend was feeling very guilty, though, when it was completely unrelated to our argument.
So I told them: "I cry because I am feeling an intense emotion. This is not your fault, this is not something bad, and I will feel better in five minutes. I love you, you're still my friend. You got this?"
And then we got back to the argument.
(We made up, by the way.)

Full offence but countries like America, Australia, the UK, etc, should all be -- not only accepting as many refugees from Afghanistan as need be, but helping refugees get the fuck out of Afghanistan.
We're the ones who spent twenty years fucking up their country and murdering their civilians "for fun." And then we just collectively drop everything and say "the Taliban can have you."
Fuck that noise. It's disgusting. There are untold numbers of people fleeing the Taliban right now, across the whole country, with all of them -- but especially women and anyone who might be accused of helping the old government/foreign armies -- fearing for their lives.
The Western countries that have spent two decades fucking up Afghanistan have a duty of fucking care to the civilians left behind.
Breaking news as of 16 August 2021 is that the Afghan president and all other government officials have fled Kabul. The "last stronghold" that was predicted to "hold out against the Taliban for three months" has fallen within a week, and most civilians in that city and others that have been overrun are now fearing for their lives.
We have a basic moral obligation to help them in any way possible. That includes taking unreserved numbers of refugees that are refugees in large part due to the actions of the "heroic west."
Late night thoughts
Another strange one.
I was trying something different here… again.
Sigh. I should stop saying that since I do something" different" so often.
I think it’s just some insecurity trying to cover up what I don’t see as being my" best"
weird how that works

being non-binary is sooooo exhausting... everyone wants a piece of you, you’re hot, you’re funny, you’re cooler than ice cold, you dress impeccably... smash that reblog button if you too think non-binary people deserve to be given 1000000 dollars in cash.
concept: Donald Trump is sacrificed to the gods. in return, they save the bees, the refugees, and trans kids from any and all harm. gun violence no longer exists. Democrats control congress again. all the shelter animals get a permanent home. the minimum wage is a living wage. my girlfriend and i rescue a cat for christmas. Bernie Sanders is president.
You had me at “Donald Trump is sacrificed to the gods.”
