Grace’s Alternate Reality Redux 1.3: The husband’s secret
Jesse likes living with her parents still, even though she already has a baby. Ordell and Olivia certainly provide a certain amount of financial security she wouldn’t have without them.
Landyn and Jesse get married in a private ceremony outside their house. No guests.
Suki likes living with her extended family. She’s never bored and uncle Ira is really nice to her.
Suki also gets a cousin in the form of Alexia. Dajota doesn’t mind living in an incredibly sterile environment, but it definitely isn’t what she envisioned for herself.
Soon, Jesse and Landyn welcome baby # 2. Welcome, little Aiko!
After a few days, Landyn asks Jesse if they can speak privately.
Since they live with his in-laws, the only real private place is the patio.
“There’s something I have to tell you and it’s kind of serious. So, you know how you fell pregnant kind of accidentally? Before you, I was seeing... someone else. It was pretty serious but I totally fell in love with you.”
“...Okay? I don’t really care about your previous relationships.”
“I know. The thing is, she was a bit older than me...”
“Yeah?”
“She fell pregnant too. I guess I have super sperm or something. She only told me a few months ago...”
“Months ago?! And you didn’t tell me?!”
“Well, I’m telling you now. And...”
“Why?!”
“Well, because she’s old. Kerry may have to come live with us.”
“Wait, you are telling me that the only reason I know you have an illegitimate son - that Suki and Aiko have brothers? - is because he may have to come live with us?”
“Well, I wouldn’t put it that way, but...”
“Stop talking. Just stop. I’m, going to go hang out with my children.”
“Hey, Suki. You notice mom has been a bit weird lately?”
“Yeah, she’s been going to the bathroom and puking a lot. She did say she had a stomach bug.”
“I know, but she’s also gotten... fat?”
“Don’t say anything to her.”
“I won’t, don’t worry. I told Grandpa Ordell and he told me to be quiet and come play chess with you.”
“Good. You should listen to him. He’s smart.”
Jesse is having a terrible year. She’s pregnant - AGAIN - and Ordell and Olivia die within months of each other.
Will next year be any better?
Grace’s Alternate Reality Redux 1.2
Before long, the girls grow up into adults. Baby Ira becomes a teenager himself.
Dakota decides to shave her head.
Then runs into this guy, who she kind of obsessively pursues until he’s like “oh btw I’m married.”
It makes Dakota way sad.
Little Jesse goes out to explore the town, but all she finds is her coworker Landyn.
Jesse gets abducted.
A few years later, after Jesse has had some promotions at work and stuff, Landyn proposes.
Jesse says yes, but she is a career woman and expects to have a long engagement. However. Landyn moves in straight away. Ordell is not super impressed...
Landyn makes a huge effort to get to know his future wife’s family. He gets along especially well with Ira.
Meanwhile, Dakota works super hard at her every day businesswoman job, though she feels like she should be a mode.
There she meets this guy. Who she quickly moves in with. Like, really quiickly. And then she realizes that he’s in alien once he changes his appearance because he doesn’t think he’s “conventionally attractive enough”
Dakota thinks he’s cute enough in his original form, but he just ain’t about that life.
In the meantime, Jesse has fallen pregnant. She is kind of happy?
The house is getting a bit small. There’s Ordell, matriarch Olivia, Amity, Jesse, Ira, Jesse’s soon-to-be husband Landyn and then the child that would arrive soon.
Ira was so young, though. Was it fair to ask him to leave?
Now that Suki is here, it’s really important that someone leaves. Landyn and Jesse discuss buying a new house, but Ordell and Olivia convince them to stay. They are both struggling artists and they can use the financial help.
Plus, things work out... Amity finally marries her fiance and moves in with her.
The triplets are all in serious relationships now and their parents are over the moon. But what they don’t know is that Amity and her wife have been also planning on become parents for a while now...
Welcome to the family, little Jay!
Grace’s Alternate Reality Redux 1.1
Pretty much the day after Ira is born, the triplets grow to be teenagers.
They need more space.
Luckily, they can help look after the baby. Looking after Ira is a lot easier than looking after the girls.
Dakota is the oldest one by a few minutes. She’s full of confidence and good.
Amity is the middle child. She’s a loner but she wants to be popular. Alright, Amity.
And then there’s Jessie. When she is not painting, which she only does for the extra cash, she is talking about food.
Or eating the food.
Dakota is by far the most helpful with the baby. Amity is too focused on her studies and Jessie is doing... well, mostly she’s playing games on her phone and hanging out with her dad.
Finally, Ira ages up.
Now that Ira is a child and the girls are teenagers, the family takes what little money they have saved up and gotten a house that has enough rooms for everyone.
While the children entertain themselves, Ordell and Olivia finally have a little time for each other. But not for long. Having a busy household means there’s always something to clean, some homework to help with, some activity to go to.
So the couple cherishes the little time they get to spend together.
Having opposite schedules definitely doesn’t help.
At the end of the day, before having to go to work, Olive spends a little time with the kids. Later, it’s Ordell’s turn.
Jesse doesn’t mind having a big family. She likes hanging out with everyone. Her problem is the hand-me-downs, the endlessly shared clothes, the fact that if she wanted to buy an armoir (and she does) her sisters and brothers would have to get one. Most of the money they have goes on bills since they upgraded the house and her parents still want to paint it, but haven’t been able to.
Jesse decides to talk to her sisters.
“Guys, what if we all get jobs?”
Amity isn’t on board. She barely has enough time to study as it is.
Dakota is more amenable to the idea, but she tells Jesse she has to ask their mother.
Jesse takes it to her mother, who talks it through with her and ends up forbidding her from getting a job, telling her that her education is most important.
Jesse argues that the triplets are some of the best students at school and her mother says that that’s probably ‘cause they don’t have a job.
The conversation gets awkward, but the parents have made a decision and Jesse knows she isn’t allowed to go against it.
“For a second, I was worried mom would say yes!”
Ordell was not consulted and is blissfully unaware.
The girls get to spend the weekend relaxing with her friends.
Ira, on the other hand, spends it bonding with dad.
The triplets birthday is approaching soon and the house is going to change, so the Harrisons are trying hard to hold on to their youngest and most adorable child.
Grace’s Alternate Reality Redux 1.0
I lost all my saves files and my back-ups so I had to restart the alternate reality challenge. Here’s what’s happened in it so far.
Ordell’s face is an accurate representation of my reaction.
Ordell 2.0 decides to become a doctor. Although he likes the job and he has many female friends, he is still unlucky in love.
Until he decides to ask out his old friend Olive McLeod. He assumes she’s pretty behind that cap and those yellow glasses.
Things move fast.
So fast that Olive basically moves in with Ordell immediately.
She gets a makeover and starts exercising but overeating isn’t the reason she is gaining so much weight...
Ordell 2.0 is going to be a father!
Olive is unemployed and Ordell is a mere orderly. He is excited but scared. Also, they live in his tiny studio...
Olive gives birth to triplets. Dakota, Amity and Jesse...
Once they turn into children, the house expands to become a modest 2/2 home.
Ordell quite likes being a father. Olive, unfortunately, has to work whenever the girls are home nowadays. Feeding 3 kids is a lot expensive than the one they had planned for!
This is Jesse. The youngest, she’s fun and creative.
This is Amity. She also enjoys being creative but she likes playing chess just as much.
The oldest one is Dakota. The sweetest one of all, she prefers to dance the day away and spends the majority of her time in front of the computer or near the radio.
The girls share a small bare bedroom right next to the kitchen.
Which is where disasters tend to happen.
Luckily their father is there, even when it means he gets hurt himself.
“So, dad, what happened?”
“Is that a serious question?”
Ordell celebrates his birthday by himself, after the girls have gone to school and his wife is still in bed sleeping.
After a bit of a mid-life crisis, Ordell decides to quit his now relatively important job at the hospital and join an entry level job at the space agency. That way, he gets to spend more time with his family.
His daughters are really pleased.
Olive also feels the effects of this change.
“Maybe we’ll have boy triplets this time!”
Ordell stuffs food in his mouth.
Ordell 2.0 and Olive welcome the newest member of the family, little Ira!
Aside: Guys, store your game files in the cloud. You never know when it’s every hard drive at home exodus week.
Alternate Reality Challenge: Ordell 1.6
Aria has to be away from the house a lot. After her mother died and her father grew old, he decided that he would quit his respected job as a nurse and work on his dream of being a world renown chef. Which really screwed the girls over.
She meets Ian at the park. He’s sweet and very into her. Like Aria, he’s a slob. He’s also active and jealous.
He’s pretty cute, so Aria loses no time and asks him to move in with them.
Ordell is a little suspicious at first. After Ian assures him that he’s very serious about his daughter and gets a job to contribute to the household, they become tentative friends.
Unlike Aria, Ansel chooses to not get a regular job. She spends her time tending to the garden and playing the violin.
As for Aria, when she isn’t working at the office, she’s painting. Ansel doesn’t know, but Aria has a plan...
Ian is hopelessly in love. He pops the question. Aria Harrison is now engaged!
Ansel is a little bit older than her boyfriend, but once he ages up, she invites him over. He’s into her but they decide to take things slow.
No matter how much Aria tried, her boss told her that she had to wear this suit. She tries to put on a smile.
Aria’s life is really hectic. When she’s not at work or working at home, she is painting. But no one will buy her paintings and she doesn’t understand why. She’s pretty good. Every day, when she gets home, she pours herself a drink and sighs while she drinks it.
The drinks every afternoon lead to either fun or fights with Ian. Mostly fun.
Aria falls pregnant!
Ordell and Ansel spend a lot of time together. While Ordell rises up in the ranks to become the Head Dishwasher, Ansel is allowed to keep living at home free of charge as long as she takes care of the cleaning, the crops and any random repairs. She’s just as busy as her sister.
Ordell narrowly misses his first grandchild’s birth!
Aria and Ansel are devastated.
A day later, Aria has to go to the hospital
It is not an easy birth.
Aria Harrison and Ian Clevenger are delighted to welcome little Dakota Harrison into the world!
Alternate Reality Challenge: Ordell 1.5
At first, Alayna’s plan works.
Being able to fish more means that they have more money. Their crops get better as she takes the time to fertilize them. But Alayna is older than Ordell and her birthday just happens.
That means that she can’t spend as much time fishing and tending the garden as she did when she was younger.
Aria and Ansel are both teenagers now, thankfully.
Ansel takes after her dad.
The sisters spend quite a bit of time together.
Ansel likes it more, in general.
One night, when they are in bed, Ordell watches the love of his life fall to her death. She’s old and it’s expected, but it still breaks his heart.
Ordell goes a bit crazy with grief. He starts watering the garden with his tears...
And basically ignores his daughters, as he spends the rest of his time crying in bed.
Ansel and Aria cope by painting and spending a lot of time together, since talking to their father is extremely difficult.
Finally, Ordell sits the girls down for a talk
He speaks to them separately. Each one speaks to him about their feelings and everything seems a little better afterwards.
He tells them that he needs them to start contributing towards the household. Since Aria is older and will be able to get a job soon, Ansel has to look after the garden when Ordell is off to work.
She quite likes the idea.
Plus she loves being outside, because then she can invite her friend over without having to introduce him to Ordell. And she REALLY likes him, despite the awful hair.
They start going steady.
In the meantime, Aria ages to adulthood. She actually does seem excited this time.
Alternate Reality Challenge: Ordell 1.4
ia doesn’t get much attention now that Ansel has been born.
But Ansel doesn’t seem particularly pleased.
She entertains herself by playing with her toys. Finally, Ordell gets a little while to himself.
Freedom!
Alayna does not appreciate being woken up from her slumber.
“I have an idea. Why don’t we go to our friends’ house and have a birthday party for me? We can leave Ansel with a babysitter. It’s a win for everyone!”
“Wow, dad. This was an excellent idea.”
His birthday goes off pretty well. With his old age being closer than ever, Ordell decides to start working on his childhood dream of being a doctor.
Ansel ages up and she looks lots like her dad.
Along with THAT face.
Ordell didn’t realize that being an Orde-lly (as he refers to it to his wife and children incessantly) involved this much contact with people. He thought it was going to be a lot more cleaning up mess. Every day, he is an uncomfortable ball of nerves and gets home super tense.
At least the family is getting along.
They are always kissing. If uncomfortable had a face...
“This is A-Okay. This is A-Okay.”
Alayna takes care of the crops, but they are still not bringing in as much money as they should. Ordell is not doing that well in his job either. He didn’t know orderlies get paid commiserate with performance instead of hours but apparently that’s a thing.
As if Ordell didn’t have enough things to worry about, the poor guy gets abducted. Thankfully, he didn’t fall pregnant.
One late night, Alayna keeps him up for an important conversation.
“Sweetheart, we should move.”
“What, why? We can’t afford to move. We can barely afford to live here. Our electricity has been cut off nearly every single time we’ve gotten a bill, Alayna.”
“It’s my fault. I thought I’d be bringing in enough with my fishing business but with the location of our home, it’s really hard to go out and fish. If we can live near a river - not even like next to it, just near it - I promise that our crops will get better and I will start bringing in more money.”
“I don’t get it. Why don’t you just get a job?”
“This is my job! I’m getting up in age and the girls won’t have me around forever. Ordell, listen to me. If you want this family to thrive, we need to move.”
“Let me... just give me a little time, okay?”
With that, nothing is resolved.
Worried, Ordell basically ignores all his needs until the hospital gives him a promotion. Maybe now they’ll be able to afford it.
In the meantime, Alayna has become an elder and Aria has become a teenager.
After an intense weight-loss regime, Aria gets a makeover.
She’s, uh, impressed?
Alternate Reality Challenge: Ordell 1.3
Things are going well in the marriage.
Due to how well things are going, Alayna gets knocked up pretty quickly.
It’s not an easy pregnancy. She’s miserable 90 % of the time and Ordell has no idea how to console her.
He is not having an easy time himself.
After much waiting, little Aria is born.
Despite his new fatherhood status, Ordell still goes out every day. He tells Alayna he needs some time to himself, only to get mobbed by some random people he barely knows. But at least they are quieter than an infant.
But time goes quickly.
Though Aria inherits both her mother’s eye and hair colour, you can definitely see a bit of Ordell in there.
Aria spends most of her time cloudgazing or doing mac and cheese paintings.
She also spends a bit of time with this douchebag. She loves having him over despite the fact that he ends up insulting her like 50 % of the time.
While Aria does basically whatever she wants as long as she can keep her marks up, the family has decided to expand again, despite the fact that they barely have any money now.
Alayna is just not having a good time with the pregnancies. She has to go fishing and do upkeep on the garden a lot more now since she still won’t get a proper job and Ordell is struggling to get promoted. So...
She pees herself while fishing. And makes this face.
And then goes home and hugs her daughter. At least Aria still loves her.
They opt for a home birth this time.
The entire family in one room. This is how they are going to end up if Ordell doesn’t get a promotion or their crops don’t get better.
Alternate Reality Challenge: Ordell 1.2
So things are moving pretty fast for Alayna and Ordell. Reluctantly, he asks her if she wants to move in with him.
“Sure,” she says. She brings nothing with her, not a penny. Just the clothes on her back
Despite the fact that Alayna is a lot older than Ordell and has quit her job almost immediately upon moving in, they get on like a house on fire.
She’s happy to give him his alone time while she goes out fishing. She sells the fish for a little bit of cash which she assures him is plenty and totally as much as they would get if she had a job.
She convinces him easily enough. He takes her out to a museum and pulls out a huge diamond in the middle of the night.
She said yes!
Ordell is unable to contain his excitement.
There is no time to lose. After a few days of planning, Ordell and Alayna are finally ready to get married. Oh dear, Alayna is already not super impressed with Ordell’s friends.
No matter. Ordell is in love. The happy couple have become husband and wife!
Alayna’s super secret pro and con list:
Pros:
Great eyes
Driven
Interesting
Adorably shy
Always nice to me
Cons:
Terrible friends
Absolutely TERRIBLE friends
Bad organizational skills (who hires a caterer that doesn’t even bake cake during a wedding?)
Of course, Ordell decides to find a book instead of socializing with his guests during the wedding.
How did Ordell get so lucky?
Alternate Reality Challenge: Ordell 1.1
Ordell has moved into his nice new house. The walls are still bare, but he will be able to take care of that eventually. For now, he is going to the park.
Where he has met a bunch of women. Ordell is shy by nature and he is not enjoying this AT ALL. Luckily, he has managed to divert the attention from himself to other conversation topics, like clouds...
Or chess.
Ordell loves chess and doesn’t look uncomfortable at all.
This is the woman he gets on the most with. They don’t really get on THAT well.
For the first time after what feels like days, Orell gets a little bit of time by himself. He decides to cook himself a salad.
He does not enjoy this salad. But at least he’s enjoying time by himself. Between his job as a wanna-be astronaut and being out all the time, he barely gets any time to be by himself.
But his alone time barely lasts. Ordell needs to find a wife. It’s fine being by himself but who is going to clean and stuff? Here is a prime candidate. She is not moved by his charm.
Luckily, the fisherwoman he meant wants to know if she can come over to visit. Ordell is proud of his house so he’s like ‘hell yeah!’
And then things... well, they kind of just happen. Aww, our little Ordell has a girlfriend!
And it’s the morning after. He doesn’t even make her breakfast. Stare-off time for computer use.
Fae’s relaxation time
Fae had the house all to herself. It happened sometimes when she got up early enough after Jameson and the girls had gone off to fulfill their daily responsabilities. She cherished the little time she had of peace and quiet, knowing that the soon to come little one would put a stop to that quickly enough.
She kind of hoped it was a boy. She had already had to girls – one popular and sporty, one arty one – and now she wanted to raise a little boy. She wondered what he would be like. She even had her name picked out for him. But she would find out soon enough. In the meantime, she chilled in her house wearing nothing but a pink towel and listening to classical music. Choosing to seize the opportunity, she whipped herself up a face mask and a milk, oat and honey bath. If she was going to relax, she was going to do it right
“Mom, we are home!” “GET STARTED ON YOUR CHORES!” She shouted back, hoping not to be interrupted. After only an hour, the girls were sitting down with their mother, eating the food she had prepared for them in the morning. One last blissful day before the new arrival.
Gaia watched her mother. She was heavily pregnant now and her new maternity work uniform already barely fit.
“But why would you have another one?” she asked her spoon.
Fae looked at her and decided not to answer the question. It had been a spur of the moment decision. An accident, really. Not that her and Jameson couldn’t afford it – their careers were right on track and everything was going well. But they already had two teenage daughters. A late addition to the family was sure to only add complications. As it was, she barely spent any time with him. Her work as a mixologist was grueling and her night shifts weren’t exactly great for family live.
Yes, she earned good money. But what was the use of that when she could hardly see the people that mattered the most to her?
That was another reason she didn’t want to spell out for her eldest daughter.
We wanted a third child so we could reconnect.
Instead, she talked about the weather.
“Don’t you have homework?” Her father intervened.
Fae glanced at him gratefully. “Where’s your sister?”
“I don’t know. In her room, I guess. Playing that stupid guitar.”
“Can you call her for me, sweetheart?”
“GALA!!”
“If I wanted a shout, I could have done that myself.”
“Whatever,” Gaia said and went downstairs.
Gala, her younger sister, was practicing inside her bedroom. Determined to embarrass her, Gaia went inside and sat on her bed while she did her homework.
Finally, it was time for school.
Genetics. After Alicia is born to Eli, he has six other children: Gaia, Nickolas, Janelle, Ruby, Roman and Ashley (he’s a man)
Out of those, Ruby, Roman, and Ashley have children as well as Alicia.
Alicia has five children. Only one of them has had children so far, heir and first born Marc.
He has the world’s most adorable twins: Alicia, named after his mother, and Lucia, the unexpected, not planned for child.
Also, his wife is his second cousin.
She thinks people don’t know but everyone knows.
Keep it up guys, I’m sure nobody can tell. Nobody...
So Amy lived a happy life and had many children. And that children had more children.
This is her heir. His name is Eli. He looks nothing like her. With some luck, he finds a redhead for a wife.
But his mother never leaves. She’s always there. She never moves out and she doesn’t do anything.
Actually, she does voodoo. But only on her second born because screw that boy.
It’s not all bad. At least now he feels... flirty?
Yeah... maybe Aimee isn't such a traditional girl after all.
My dash is hella empty & it sucks
All the way. ♥
