Formal Funk Dana Bratz Doll 2004
Formal Funk is one of my favourite lines, I love a doll that has some frou frou to it it just reminds me of a cliche Doll with a capital D.
These Dana dolls came seperately, I first received the doll wearing the Champagne two piece, she came with her first full outfit shoes and some accessories like her earrings bag and little makeup pieces. Her bangs were cut shorter, which if you know they should seperate at the part and be tied back like the doll’s in the green dress. But I actually really like the bangs being in a single swoop, so thank you to whoever cut this dolls hair.
Again line My formal funk Sasha, I handmade her shawl and gloves in complimentary fabrics which I took some creative liberties with as they stray slightly from the original. And her crown, which isn’t her but suits nicely is from a woman I befriended on eBay, she was selling a listing of small accessories which included the crown so I messaged to ask about separating. She responded saying yes and then one thing lead to another and we got to talking, she offered to keep an eye out for accessorise pieces for me on her travels and just send them to me, which has actually been the sweetest thing I’ve encountered on eBay. Cheers to Denise 🥂
The second doll and most recent is wearing the green second look from the set, it’s kinda interesting how different their screens are, but I think somehow they both work with their outfits. This doll came with everything except her gloves which again I made for her in complimentary colour mesh. This Dana also came with a haircut, this time it was her ponytail. Originally I was a little disappointed, but once the doll started to come together after the restoration I think the shorter ponytail actually suits this shorter dress and rather complements the design.
I always love having two dolls to display complete outfits, and I one day plan to do this with each of the dolls in this line. Again, I love frou frou dolls.
