How about we kick off the return with a bang? I was working on this design before the hard drive started failing and finished it up by the time I got everything working.
Like I’ve said, I love Meld and the sheer amount of potential it has.

I like this. Did you intend for Gisa’s Procession to cast Geralf’s Synthesis from the graveyard with its discounted cost? Because right now the Procession would cost 6BB to get the Synthesis out of the graveyard.
It’s something that, thus far, most Meld cards do. Like how Bruna brings back Gisela, they have the means to bring the other card needed or are difficult to kill so they survive, in the case of Hanweir Battlements. However, the abilities are loose enough that they have uses other than the Meld.
I meant more that Procession cares about converted mana cost, while Synthesis has a cost discount ability that won’t matter for Procession. I would have expected something like Procession letting you cast a zombie card from your graveyard for X, or some wording that allows the discount to take effect. I do like the card designs though!
Oh, that’s mainly to ensure they can’t get a 9/9 trampler for super cheap, while still having the Synthesis be strong and evoke similar flavor to previous Blue zombies.
Hello, would you mind if I add some criticism to your zombie meld cards you made? I love the idea and would love to see them be more playable.
Absolutely, I would love to hear thoughts on them. (Although if you saw it before I went and changed the text, the Ghouliath now says “Exile another Zombie creature you control“, so I already took care of that.)

Back from hiatus
Apologies about the unannounced hiatus. Between my original hard drive dying (Got a new one) and college work, I wasn’t able to post anything.
Thankfully, those issues have been dealt with and I’ll be posting again.
Been a while since I’ve posted an Overlay card, so let’s fix that.
Non-avatar was purely for flavor, as the Overlay creatures share the avatar typing.

I love the horror type and seeing how it can apply to various types, like plants. I’m also trying out the new wording for making (or should I say creating) tokens.
So far, I’m really, really liking the new wording.

Working with more Devoid, this time based slightly on Contaminated Ground, like how other Eldrazi cards are based on past Zendikar block cards.

A semi-silly top-down hatebear design.
Seems pretty strong, purely because of it having flash. I think that having it be WW could fix this though.
I do like the whole “Creatures can’t fight” though.
What I wish Westvale Abbey was. I understand that having “commander” on cards in standard sets doesn’t work, but that doesn’t make it less sad.
I’m not entirely sure how commander tax works with lands, but I assumed it didn’t.

I’m sure this is hella old or something because I’ve been scrolling through your blog for a while
However
A friend of mine and I were discussing this in regards to house rules around Westvale Abbey as a commander and what we settled on was replacing the commander tax rule with something like “If your commander would be played from the command zone, you may pay [2] for each time it has previously been played from the command zone. If you don’t, your commander is put into the command zone instead of anywhere else.”
It’s really clunky and awkward, but still allows Daretti and Command Beacon to work as intended
Yeah, that seems like it would work. I’m thinking of remaking this with such a rule in mind.

As the rules are now, the commander tax would be irrelevant because you never cast it. I imagine there would be an update for this though
I figured that’s how it would go. Hopefully a rule change that will happen eventually.
Something that would give Dash quite a boost, I would think. Sadly couldn’t find art of a Goblin Shaman that resembled the goblins of Tarkir.

I have been on an unforeseen hiatus from Tumblr for some time now and feel as if I have missed so much, but I guess that’s what Life will do to you, sometimes.
In any case, I haven’t been idle and I hope all is well for everyone out there.
The glaring problem with phyrexian mana is that it totally disregarded the color pie. Even though it meant you had to pay two life per colored mana and not one. This card puts that on steroids; you get entire cards “for free” with no regard for color pie. Biggest problem of all here is that it means, for standard alone, you have to avoid any cards that would allow a net gain in life by casting them.
In the current standard that would mean things like Blessed Alliance, Chaplain’s Blessing, maybe Cleric of the Forward Order, Dazzling Reflection, maybe Foul-Tongue Invocation, Foul-Tongue Shriek, Healing Hands, and the list goes on, couldn’t be printed. It also brings anything with lifelink and even life gain effects not equal to the card’s CMC under much greater scrutiny as it effectively means getting a Courier Griffin by paying 2 life.
That’s I believe two years where you’d have to all but remove life gain from Magic in order to print this card. The ability is novel and interesting, but X should at least be double.
Maybe if it could only be used to pay for generic mana?
I really liked how this kind of thing was done with dragons in Dragons of Tarkir and somewhat in the Lorwyn block.
So, I tried it with a different kind of revealed card.

Some more Intensify, this time going with something a bit different. I think the cost is enough for the variability of getting between zero and five creatures returned for the normal casting.

Cool card, but isn’t this just overload in U/B? Or is there a difference besides the name?
The name change was suggested to make it more flavor neutral, as Overload is rooted pretty firmly in the Izzet and similar such things. Kinda like how Chroma was changed to Devotion.
Also, Intensify is for all colors.
