This is an independent blog for Lauren Constance Colby, a canon character from ABC’s hit primetime drama, Dynasty. Lauren is the daughter of Jeff Colby and Fallon Carrington, and she currently serves as COO of her family’s main company, Denver Carrington. She’s also a former Fashion Fury model.

Sam made a show of raising his eyebrows in "surprise". "Oh wow. Y'know, I hadn't thought of that!" he lied, like a liar. "But I think that is a great idea. Hey guys--" He called out to the rest of her office, though he doubted most of them knew what they were talking about. "--isn't that a great idea?" Because they liked him so much, however, they decide to agree, just for the fun of taking sides with him against Lauren. "Everyone thinks it's a great idea. No wonder they pay you the big bucks."

He grinned, then nodded to the box. "So you wanna do it now? I can sit right here and wait. I'm sure everyone else would love a look, too."

An incoherent mumble could be heard under Lauren's breath, head shaking at the sheer amount of trouble Sam seemed to take serious pleasure in causing. It was something she would never understand, yet he still intrigued her in a way no one else could. Not wanting to reward him with any further reaction, she purposely ignored his mini conversation with her staff and returned her attention to the gift still sitting in its box on her desk.

"You know what? I think I've changed my mind, actually." It was a woman's prerogative, after all. "Don't get me wrong. I'm definitely keeping the gift. I think I'll wait until a very, very special occasion comes around to try it on and show it off, though."

Yeah, as if that wasn't ultimately her plan all along.

the plot: your character hates Sam the way only someone who's really, really into him can hate him. Naturally, he takes advantage of this at every opportunity. Here, he arrives at your character's job (where, naturally, everyone loves him), with a gift in hand.

Sam sat on the nearest flat surface and set the rectangular box down in front of him. "I was just out and about, helping old ladies with their groceries, saving kittens from trees, teaching blind dogs how to read--y'know, just, typical nice guy stuff I always do, when I thought, y'know who I haven't seen in a while?" (Even though it hasn't been that long.) "So I figured I'd just drop by, bring you a small gift, just something I picked up on the way, to let you know I was thinking of you."

That thing he picked up, sitting there in its shiny, satin bow, just happened to be a rather expensive (and gorgeous, if he said so himself) lingerie set--a rather expensive lingerie set that just so happened to perfectly compliment their skin tone and fit. A totally small, totally casual gift. "There's no need to thank me... but you shouldn't let that stop you." He grinned.

A roll of the eyes met Sam's detailed list of his various activities of the day. While it was quite obvious that none of the actions were actually true, there was a part of the brunette that couldn't help but find herself attracted to his cocky, confident opinion of himself. It definitely wasn't something she was willing to admit out loud, though, hence the unimpressed expression currently clouding the soft features of her face. God, was he ever going to shut that gorgeous mouth and give her a chance to respond?

"Let's see what it is first," Lauren finally quipped, tone steady and void of any true emotion. Dainty, slender fingers undid the bow and popped the top off to reveal a sexy yet classy lingerie set inside. There was no denying the amused grin that now lined her lips as she once again found Sam just as predictable as usual. In a way, though, it was somewhat comforting to see that certain things truly never changed between the two of them.

"Let me guess. The ultimate thank you would be for me to try it on and give you a little sneak peek, hm?" Given her history as a model, one thing she certainly knew how to do well was put on a show and keep all eyes on her.
