“Brisa and Gabriella Get Their Nails Done,” rejected anthology submission
I think everyone lost their voices shouting over the music at SDZF this weekend (why was it so loud?), but it was fun and it’s a relief to be able to table at a local event and not have to worry about whether I’ll be able to fit all my wares in a suitcase. Nice to see lots of familiar and new faces! Thanks to everyone who came out. Hope to see y’all at next year’s fest.
I’ll be at San Diego Zine Fest next month.
Here’s an event flyer I made for the heck of it.

a little study in movement
from a wonderful sequence in Farz, a Hindi spy thriller, which i haven’t actually seen (yet?), but i’m pretty obsessed with the song right now.
i love the framing in this sequence, the cuts and sweeping camera movements, and how that all interplays with the way the actors fill up the on-screen space. it’s great, so alive and gestural. very comics.
i’d really like to draw parts where the actors are dancing together and hope to find time to do more of these studies in general!
(click thru for full size, it looks bad on the site due to a combination of me being bad at sizing files and also i blame tumblr)
