Got some mixing done today! Not enough brainpower to tackle new attempts at Donna and Jody and Mary, but I did get some good work done on my Billie mix after remixing my ADVs (even though they're still WIPs, too), Claire and Kaia.

I luuurrrrve my DHD drip tips.
Here is my STLTH. I’ve been putting it through its paces over the last month or so. (And that link is a referral for 15% off, in case you were wondering...)
At first, I wanted to know so many pod systems were popping up. Then, when my city decided to quietly pass a by-law to make it a fineable offense to vape on sidewalks, I thought a stealthy vape system would be good to have on hand.
I will never stop rebuilding and dripping. I lurve RDA’s too much. But. This little guy rocks. Little to no leaking. Decent flavour. On a big inhale, I can get enough vapour that I’m satisfied—but it can be totally stealthy, too. The price did not break the bank. They’re Canadian (at least in part). And they’re going to be adding pods with brand name e-juice (I think the Naked and the Sorbae nic salts lines).
I’ve been through two packs of pods already. It’s my go-to vape when I’m stuck in the office after hours. It’s what I reach for when I only need a quick hit of nicotine.
I wish they could make an empty refillable pod, but apart from that I am happy with it. I can’t wait until the new pods are released. For now, I’m enjoying Tundra Berry :)
And I think I may have successfully refilled my STLTH pod. Probably can't do it more than once, but if I can replicate it, that means I'd get a bit more life out of my pods.
If I can replicate it, I'll try to do a process post.
It's been a while. I've been trying to mix. I've also been buying a lot of gear. Here's a hand check from this week. Craving Vapor's HexOhm v3, the Recoil Rebel, and a drip tip from Double Helix Designs. This may be my new fave set-up. (The fact that it matches my ace rings is a happy accident.)
Halifax Regional Council has voted in favour of new bylaws regulating smoking in public areas, and they're not just for cannabis.
+ Follow-up article
In anticipation of cannabis legalisation, my city’s crackpot team of councillors decided to further the municipal smoking ban by declaring that smoking (tobacco and pot) and vaping (liquid nicotine, no tobacco) in public areas that are not designated for such activities will result in fines.
This infuriates me. First, vaping isn’t a combustible activity. The fact that the government (in general) continues to punish vapers makes me crazy. It’s not the same thing! I do understand that non-vapers don’t want “sick clouds, bro” blown in their faces—I try to use lower-wattage devices so I don’t cause a nuisance on the street—but it’s not the same thing. There’s little-to-no second-hand vape effect. It is 95% safer than smoking. Not the same thing!
But, beyond that, I’m worried and bothered. The news articles claim that there will be “smoking permitted” signs in areas around the city. If the council wanted to be more evil than they already are, they could assign a minimal amount of areas, in inconvenient locations. There’s no way to guarantee that they’ll be placed in safe, well-lit areas, either. Smokers and vapers who work full-time are going to have a hard time trekking to designated zones. Smokers and vapers out at night could be risking their personal safety.
And now, back to vaping. I switched to vaping for harm reduction, as did many other vapers. With these bylaws, now I have to cram myself into a space that is populated with smokers. Unless I’m out with friends who smoke, I don’t hang around people while they smoke. If I’m outside vaping and someone stops near me and lights up, I inch away. If I’m outside vaping and someone is smoking pot, I move faster. Not because I hate pot—I don’t—but because if I’m outside while downtown, it’s usually because I’m taking a break from work and I really don’t want to smell like pot when I come back to the office. With these bylaws, assuming I can get to a designated area in enough time, I won’t be able to avoid those irritations and problems.
I haven’t even hit on topics like what will happen to non-property owners who smoke or vape, or the fact that the government is punishing and profiting at the same time. Or the fact that this city has serious problems and THIS is what they choose to focus on. I am so steamed about this council decision, I don’t know what part makes me madder.
In related news, I set up my BB clone with a tight MTL build and nic salts. And I ordered a STLTH. Stealth vaping might have to become my new normal---which sucks, because a couple weeks ago I ordered a HexOhm and new attys and I was reeeeally looking forward to using that gear (in public).

I am trying to talk myself out of buying authentic, pricy gear. I have a dotMod Petri v2 clone from way back that I pulled out of retirement and I forgot how much I lurve it. I’m using my Tesla Invader 3, because I equally lurve how simple and solid it is. Today, I’m thinking a HexOhm 3 and a real Petri would be perfect splurges. These low-budget items are some of my fave gear, and wouldn’t it be great (since clearly I’m not going to stop vaping any time soon) to have real hardware? The idea of spending 100$ for an RDA is holding me back on that, but the HexOhm… it’s hard to deny.
I splurged on the Petri. Found a Canadian vendor still selling what colour option I want. Higher price beats potentially getting hit with customs fees every time. Free shipping sealed the deal. I could not resist. Got the black v2 and the Tiffany Blue conversion cap for when I’m feeling extra spiffy.
And I haven’t splurged on the HexOhm yet. I sent them an e-mail asking where the extra engravings end up being placed… because I want to be sure before I buy. I am more wary about this purchase. Because there will be customs charges. But. It may be worth it to have a solid, reliable mod in the style I like.
Aaaaand I ordered the HexOhm. Fuck. I am weak.
But I cannot wait for it to arrive, either.
No more vape purchases until 2019. *resolveface*

A few weeks ago, I mixed some recipes. This process, while I love it, has been so frustrating and so... fruitless. I am not intuitive at all when it comes to flavouring percentages. I have a bunch of recipes that are 85% of the way there, but I always end up screwing up and getting discouraged. So. I was a bit wary of tasting these new ones. I set them aside, and I forgot about them.
I needed something to vape today. Feeling nostalgic for my old faves, I put my Petri on my Tesla Invader 3. And then, I decided to give one of them a try.
The recipe I’ve called Jack is supposed to be a light lemon-and-nougat cream. The first time I attempted it, the nougat (FA Torrone) was waaaaaaay too strong. This (second) time? It might be perfect. I have been vaping it for a few hours now, and I don’t want to stop.
The only thing I might do is add a bit more lemon.
Drugstores around here have been experiencing a shortage of USP-grade glycerin. It’s not something I usually order online, because I don’t make enough e-juice at any given time to buy a quantity that would make the shipping worth it. (Also, I like knowing it’s USP-grade, for sure.)
Today, I went to four drugstores in the same chain. Every time, I went to the pharmacist and asked if it was something they weren’t carrying anymore. Three times, the pharmacist said they were still carrying it but it was just a shortage---and that they should have it soon. The last and fourth time, the pharmacist said “But we can order it for you, it’ll only take two days to get here.”
That store gets my money. I have no idea why no one else mentioned this. *shakes fists*
Experimenting with labels, while doing another tweak to my recipes. (Also, as soon as I figure out a flavour profile for Alex, she's getting bottled up, too.)
Mix, mix, mixin’.
New flavourings came in today, so I think I have everything I need to make updated versions of Claire, Donna, Jody, Patience, Kaia, Sam, Dean, Cas, and Gabriel.
Man, it took forever to find everything I need. I have to find a better storage option for my flavourings. The boxes aren’t cutting it.
Do you have the E-juice recipe for Jody available?
Soon! it’s not 100% nailed down yet, so I haven’t posted it, but when it is I’ll put it on ELR and post it here, too. I’m slow. But, I have hope this is nearly done, if it isn’t already. I’m doing another tasting tomorrow. If there’s something you want me to tag it with so you can find it, let me know :)
Taste testing tonight! Mirkwood is the tastiest it’s ever been. Smaug is 85% done (I’m trying to clone my ADV and it’s close). And Jody? Jody is EFFING DELICIOUS. I finally got the coffee-to-doughnut ratio nailed, and there’s a hint of bourbon and I haven’t stopped vaping it since I cracked it open to test.
It might take me a long time to get anywhere with this diy stuff, but I am still enjoying the journey.
