shopping tips from the shopping queen herself + analysis on my own purchases.ೃ࿔*:・🍨🎀
as a professional shopaholic i've mastered the art of shopping. i think i shop very smart, i absolutely LOVE my style and im pretty self aware when i shop too, with the end goal of curating a closet that i LOVE...💬🎀
DON'T BUY KNOCK-OFFS, THATS FAUX FABULOUS ;
ladies if you've been eyeing a designer item for quite some time, i highly HIGHLY advise u to just save up and buy the real thing. knockoffs are faux fabulous and nothing is cheaper than a fake label. u dont need a fake chanel, u need the confidence and cute taste to be glamorous without it until u get the real thing.
DON'T FOLLOW QUICK TRENDS ; (shop for what u really like and for your actual style as opposed to shopping for trends)
trends come and go and nothing is worse then spending a bunch of money on trends that dont even speak to you, when u could be spending that money on clothes that are authentic, good quality and so perfectly you!
choose pieces that u actually want, not just what u see everyone on tiktok wearing. theres nothing wrong with following a trend or two, but when u follow every trend u see you'll end up losing ur unique style. remember back in 2020 when cow print and retro colors were all the rage and everyone was a SHEIN warrior? now imagine looking back on 2025 and theres a whole new trend and u have a closet filled with pieces that mean nothing to u except a fleeting tiktok trend.
ALWAYS READ THE REVIEWS ;
reviews are every online shopping girlie's best friend. before i purchase a piece im DIVING into those reviews. i wanna know everything, the quality, the way it fits, i love when reviews include pictures bcuz im a very visual person.
when skimming through the reviews make sure to note the sizing, the material, how long it took to arrive, if the color is the same irl then it is on the website etc. reviews have saved my ass SO many times, especially when im shopping sites like aliexpress or anything similar.
HOW TO TELL IF A PIECE IS QUALITY/IF ITS NOT ;
now if ur in person shopping and want to curate a closet that will LAST and thats high quality make sure that ur touching the fabric and paying attention to the stitching. u can tell if a piece is quality or not by the weight, lining, and stitching of the piece. and also price doesn't always equal quality! a lot of expensive brands r trying to rip u off, BUTTT cheap, fast fashion is 99.99% of the time very easy to clock. if ur unsure, go for these fabrics
✧ good fabrics ✧
cotton - breathable, soft, and lasts FOREVER
linen - perfect for the summer, very chic
silk - luxury
wool - warm, durable, high end (esp merino or cashmere)
tencel/lyocell - environment friendly and feels silky
modal - holds color well, perfect texture for ur basics
viscose - a big maybe, if u buy it check for thickness and lining
✧ tragically cheap ✧
100% polyester - plasticky, not breathable
acrylic - pills fast
unlined rayon - easily wrinkles and is flimsy
nylon blends - the only nylon blend pieces u should get is activewear, other then that its a no
cheap faux leather - SMELLS SO WEIRD, cracks and doesn't age well
shopping is a sport and im a gold medalist 🛍️ every piece in ur closet should make u feel like that girl. don’t let trends or fake labels trick u into settling for anything less than fabulous. stay picky, stay pretty, and remember: nothing is cuter than a closet that feels like you. 🎀🛒💖
