I feel so bad for millie bobby brown, she gave up her whloe childhood for this show and then in the last season she was sidelined and got one of the worst endings possible for her character
She didn't get to do any of the lasts with the crew because she wasn't even apart of any of it. If the rumours are true and she didn't go to the finale party or watch thing I completely understand why
That poor girl has been ruthlessly bullied by the Internet her entire career and now the show she gave her childhood to gave the character she loved so much such a horrible ending
I also feel bad for Noah because of the amount of homophobia surrounding his character and storyline by the fans and even the duffers.
The stranger things cast deserved a better written ending than one written by the duffers whose egos are too high to realise they didn't make a masterpiece of a ending/season
“I mean what did you think, really? That a show about nerds and outcasts was gonna have a well-written queer romance? That, in the end, queer love could help save the world?”
Yeah I guess I did. I really did.
absolutely flabbergasted that i’ve seen NO ONE bring up the most important callback of the season
THE ENIGMA?? ALAN TURING???
oh my god i just know she made will feel so safe with that one line like. comparing will to a gay historial hero that he made a whole presentation about 🥺
that’s the subtle importance of queer community right there
Caleb McLaughlin the man that you are. My guy is just out here sayin “yeah stranger things was never meant to be mainstream or for a general audience and it’s always been about the weirdos freaks and outcasts” “yeah no mike and el just felt pressured to be together because everyone around them romanticized them” like I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s roaming around here on tumblr with us. He’s out here spittin his shit🗣️🗣️
my foolproof rule for befriending straight boys is that they simply have to be more muppet than they are man. it has not failed me yet
call me a stickler for the rules but Stormfly and Windshear are technically wyverns

EPIC MICKEY THOUGHTS
HTTYD LA Problems
Honestly, I thought the cinematography was beautifully done and the fact that it was a 1-1 remake of the original was awesome.
My major issue comes in with the og gang characters, none of them felt fleshed out. This of course isn't a harsh critique of the actors/actresses, mostly issues with rushing and the script.
la Hiccup fell short because he wasn't as sarcastic. His jokes didn't hit the same and were delivered in a more monotone way and came off as more genuine self-deprecation at times VS the og who started the sassy man apocalypse.
la Astrid (despite Nico being the best of the group by far) fell short because she wasn't mean enough. The whole point of her development/coming around to toothless and hiccup was that in the beginning she was tough, strong willed, and MEAN. In the la they erased this and made her attach like a lover to hiccups side immediately after the romantic flight (Ex; getting her involved in the arena fight) and completely softened everything that made her character interesting for the sake of her being a "palatable" romantic interest. The la version didnt feel harsh enough. Where is her rage????? Let Astrid suck!
The la twins were nothing. They barely had enough lines to make us pay attention to them, let alone keep us interested in them. The og twins had so much personality and their jokes MADE the animated movies/shows it was really disappointing to see them be reduced to singular 1 off lines (that weren't delivered in a funny way)
la Fishlegs was fine, but instead of the nerd charm that the original had this one was just kind of there. Just like the twins, if he was given more lines and had more time to flesh out the basis of the character it would have been easier to actually pay attention every time he said something (also might be influenced by the fact that ive seen Julian in Deadpool, sorry king im sure your lovely IRL but that character was SO ANNOYING)
la Snotlout was everything I loved from the TV series. The wet cat energy was peak but the main issue was that everything special that came from that character was from the TV show. If the directors focused more on fleshing out the character with things from the og movies and less on bringing in concepts from the TV series (even though it was a nice nod to fans who have seen everything) other characters may have been given the chance to shine in the same way.
All this to say I still think it was a really fun movie! I thoroughly enjoyed it but just as a die hard fan who grew up with the characters I thought some things were missing. Everyone still did a great job and dont worry guys the nostalgia of it all punched me in the fqace and I defiantly cried in theater
In every multiverse, every universe, every reiteration of their souls and every new turn of their lives Link and Zelda will find eachother
and Zelda will always be taller than Link

This recent trend in media I love is starting to become uncanny
Portal and Feminism
okay because it was 12 years of portal 2 yesterday I thought my first official post should be my thoughts on feminism in the saga
the main problem is that a lot of the times in the media violence against women is used as a plot device to make a character stronger. it’s not empowering to be a sexually assaulted and/or abused but the media often makes these themes a “phoenix” moment for women.
and while it is satisfying to see women stick it to their abusers, This portrayal often boils women down to their only defining trait being their sexuality and the only real “motivation” for women to be powerful is having that sexuality threatened.
This abuse also enforces the point that you have to become more masculine and drop feminine traits in order to become stronger and more powerful.
women do not need to go through abuse in order to be considered powerful, being a woman is powerful enough. being feminine is being strong
This is where portal comes into play. I’ll start with what i’m sure you all guessed i was going to bring up first but in the actual games and mods every main playable character is a female (portal 1& 2 and portal mel stories) or doesn’t have a specific gender to interpret( portal 2 multi player & portal reloaded).
in addition to this one of the main “villains” is also a woman. in the first game she is given no redeeming qualities but gets “redeemed” anyways showing fleshed out characters with interesting character development and even though this development get erased (sry caroline) it’s GLaDOS’s choice and not somebody else taking it away or making that choice for her
most importantly the women in this game are influential. The classic comparison of “can this character be replaced by a lampshade” doesn’t apply to the game. whether she’s a villain or a playable character everything is biased off the decisions women make and their influence.
and while there are male side characters(the cores) the portal women are never shown to be dependent on them for coming up with solutions to problems or saving them. In fact the cores are very rarely shown to do anything that isn’t driven by what the portal women do.
the fact the chell isn’t pointed out to be a woman, she is mainly a blank slate except from the player views her through portals, is also a prime example of this feminism because it isn’t calling attention to the different ways that men and women act it forces you to focus on not the gender of the character but of the actual gameplay
now i know nothing about game development and in the mod mel stories it may have been simpler to keep the main character a female when designing. but the choice to keep mel as an olympian and how they chose to portray female olympian instead of a male shows the dedication to having powerful woman “outside” the game and inside the game meaning that she was already strong but was made even stronger by what she went through in aperture.
and yes, they do go through hardships and are exposed to many challenges yet they are never shown to be abused or sexually assaulted. they have their “phoenix” moments anyway
anyways thanks for reading and another great example of this is Ashoka Tano and her journey!
