Am I allowed to make an alternate version of one of your characters (specifically Matrix) for a concept I’m working with? I want to make them into an Acolyte (MA-D2b/Wubbox infected with MA-D2a’s blood), and it involves heavy body-horror themes and I wanna know if you’re okay with that.

well, it’s been a while, I haven’t gone ahead with actually draiwng their design yet, but I have made a rough sketch of what D2b specimen ‘Lab-rat’ looks like!

Their mutation looks more ‘refined’ than all other D2b/Acolyte specimens, since they willingly injected themselves with D2a’s blood. The only part of their mutation that really stands out is their face. Their jaw is left hanging open after a failed attempt at using their own version of atomic fire, and since they can’t use said jaw to eat anymore, a secondary set of human jaws generated right infront of their throat. They don’t make much sound outside of their constant, raspy mouth-breathing, that is often heard before they’re spotted. Like all other ‘Overgrowns’ (the rarest and most advanced type of Acolyte), their eyes are glazed over to an off-white lavender-ish color, signifying a point of no return. However, also like the other overgrowns, they are sensitive to bright lights and loud sounds, so the best way to deal with them is to use a flashbang them. Their extra set of arms have strengthened ridiculously due to the added organic muscle, now able to support their weight on their own, and can easily constrict victims, suffocating them quickly.

do we still fw infection aus in 2026. well whatever ive been working on this for a while with no sign of stopping lmao, kinda wanted to wait until i had more polished stuff to share but whateverrrrrr i wanna post shit. nobody can stop me

heres some character sketches i made for the msm infection au i've been working on, Etherealpocalypse (or ethereal infection ig). the gist of it is that it takes place in the mirror timeline, where the cataclysm never happened but other bad stuff definitely has. five diseases tied to the five ethereal elements have begun to spread, throwing the natural islands into chaos.

Dr. Cal Sollura (Earth Epic Wubbox) is a travelling physician, part of a team attempting to study the diseases and find any sort of cures.

Ashe Grennivan (Plant Epic Wubbox), a Plant Island native, is a single parent just trying to stay sane and keep its kids safe. it becomes a close friend of Cal, joining its team on their travels in an attempt to stay safe.

Thistle & Lief Grennivan (Plant Epic Wubblets, aged 4-5ish) are Ashe's twin children, who are blissfully unaware about the full extent of the whole infection thing, only that everyone around them seems to be getting sick all of a sudden...

the air wub (Zeffaras) family are side characters with their own subplot, their paths cross with Cal and the other protags a few times.

Subsaanik Vynell (Rare Wubbox) was a close friend of the Zeffaras family; after both parents passed away, it was left with the responsibility of taking care of the kids.

Rotor Zeffaras (age 7; far left side of sketch) is the middle child of the three, curious by nature but kept sheltered by its caretaker and older sibling for its own good.

Cayley Zeffaras (age 12; right side of sketch) is the eldest, painfully aware of the spreading infections after watching its own parent die as a result of one. it's severely depressed and struggling with this baggage, but tries to stay strong for its younger sibs.

Whirle Zeffaras (age 2; bottom right of sketch) is the baby of the family, mostly cared for by Cayley. it has no idea what's going on, but misses its parents a lot.

if anyone remembers, I first introduced this fella back in october 2024- this is Zephyr, they're a human AU version of Zyphur! it's been a while since i posted that first design and A Lot has changed lmao. in late 2024 i joined a zombie apocalypse roleplay on ashes town (rip </3) hosted by a friend on discord and decided to play as zephie, and over the course of the past year theyve risen to "favorite/main oc" status. i've developed them a ton both in rp and out of it and had a hell of a lot of fun doing so :]

hes specifically an ethereal epic (i hc that if there were more than one ethereal epic wub theyd have different parts due to them all being prototype versions) and floette is a "primordial" whisp, aka an ancestor of the modern day whisp species. she only speaks an ancient, long-dead dialect of monstrous, and nobody can understand what she says save for AZ

*rises from my grave with a whole new hyperfixation to subject you all to* hi everyone. can i interest you all in a freakishly tall depressed monster man

so anyways. here's an au idea i've been rotating in my mind for the past few weeks. essentially, in addition to the extra long lifespan and eternity of suffering brought on by the ultimate weapon, AZ was also cursed to become a true monster. it's a sort of lycanthropy/"weremon" situation; every few months or so, he's forced to transform into a warped, beastly version of himself, sporting features that mimic both a (shiny) Yveltal and his own beloved Floette. this curse, combined with his already fearsome reputation, earned him the title of "AZ, Beast-King of Kalos".

the "symptoms" start out subtle, but distinct enough for the people who know him to recognize, despite his efforts to hide them. in the days leading up to the curse taking over, AZ gets noticeably itchy/visibly uncomfortable due to the sudden increase in hair growth on his chest and arms, and may develop some discoloration around his eyes and nose as his beastly markings begin to form. the transformation itself is quite rapid, though he has enough time beforehand to lock himself away from the rest of the world so nobody else is subjected to it.

the self-isolation isn't only out of shame, but for protection; freshly transformed beast!AZ starts off in a sort of feral, "frenzy" state, barely in control of himself. thankfully, it's only temporary, rarely lasting more than an hour or so before he comes back to a more lucid state. before settling down at Hotel Z, he'd often find himself coming to in the middle of the woods or crammed into the nearest cave, but nowadays tends to just curl up in his bathtub and stay there until he can think clearly again.

weakened by his transformation, AZ typically calls on Floette to help him get dressed again. despite being ashamed of his beastly appearance, she holds no judgement against him, instead being happy to comfort him, cuddle him, and comb his fur. his hotel staff have gotten used to this cycle as well, and will visit him once Floette tells them he's awake and okay, bringing food and clean clothes for him.

reverting back to his normal form takes a while, and he'll typically stay as a monster for a few hours afterwards, only changing back when he falls asleep. in most cases, he'll wake up with a few remnants of his beast form still present, which are essentially the same as the "symptoms" leading up to his transformation, though these fade away much more quickly than they first appear.

does any of this make sense? idk! it's really just a super self indulgent thing for me bc yall probably know i cant resist a good beauty and the beast type situation LMAO

surprise! double creature feature for today!

pictured here is Monstracantus fulcursor (roughly translated to "lightning runner" or "zap-runner"), also known as a Synthax. they're the closest known evolutionary relative/ancestor to the modern-day Wubbox (M. electricor) and share some defining features, but are also quite different;

chest + vocal cavity ("echo chamber") is much smaller than a wubbox's, giving them much less powerful vocalization capabilities. their voices were less deep and bassy, instead being higher-pitched with more of a "buzzy" quality to them, similar to 80s-style synth instruments (hence the name!)

alongside being smaller and less bulky overall, their armor is sparser and not quite as strong as that of the modern variant; rather than strength and size, they relied more on speed and agility to survive against potential enemies

synthax never quite reached full sapience, and died out alongside several other "lost" monster species during the Cataclysm. unlike the wubbox, synthax eggs weren't capable of staying dormant for long periods of time, so no viable, hatchable eggs remained at the time of the species' rediscovery

the antenna-like whiskers on their heads allowed them to "hear" each other from long distances despite their relatively quieter calls; this trait did not pass on to the modern wubbox species, but in the modern age, some rares may augment themselves to give themselves the trait through artificial means (typically just for aesthetic purposes, as they aren't really needed anymore)

not necessarily an in-universe fact, but their colors are based on the og wubbox concept design :]

here's the first synthax concepts i drew! probably like... 2 years old now?? sheeeesh alkddsgjsd........... they stayed kind of the same, mainly in the face, but i changed up the bodyplan to be more raptor-like + lessened the scale distribution

super sloppy concept design for organic au prototype/ethereal epic wub- instead of being a modern-day wubbox, i think it'd work well as a synthax! it was created by scientists attempting to revive the species, but it's far from perfect; they used modern wubbox DNA to fill in the gaps, meaning some bits turned out "wrong". still working on the actual design so i havent exactly decided which parts weren't up to par lmao, i do want it to have a prosthetic forelimb due to a birth defect + possibly damaged antennae/whiskers? the colors are artificial, maybe it was used as a tester for future rare wubbox gene editing methods, i dunnoooo

havent had much drawing motivation lately so *throws pile of old AU scribbles i made months ago and never shared directly at you*

basically the result of a random scenario i came up with ages ago that spiraled out of control juuuust a little

introducinggggg. Splice! (it/its) the... i guess you could say love/hate child of Matrix and Alva my favorite toxic yuri/yaoi/whatever the fuck you call it when theyre both nb.

the first and only instance of a common/rare "hybrid", informally dubbed an "uncommon" wubbox. neither alva nor matrix have any idea how they managed to bring splice into existence.

despite its parents' strained and conflicted relationship, splice is well loved and taken care of- spoiled, even. alva is very protective of it, and despite letting matrix visit every now and then, never lets splice out of its sight.

believe it or not matrix is actually a decent parent! a little dumb and irresponsible sometimes but loves their kiddo very much. splice is one of very few beings in matrix's life that they truly, genuinely care about (not enough to stop their horrid experiments, though...)

somehow managed to inherit one of matrix's robot arms in place of its right arm, resulting in splice having to deal with a disproportionately long and hard to control limb from birth. it's lightweight enough to move, and its hand functions just fine, just very unwieldy overall; splice (at least when it's a kid) seldom uses it properly, mostly just letting its arm drag on the floor or keeping it in its mouth.

more grown up splice! had a silly idea where it retains its arm-chewing habit from when it was a baby throughout its life

i <3 making aus of aus. heres organic au splicey and a peek at human au splice (aka Spencer; haven't really drawn them much yet)

organic!splice is missing an arm, but its prehensile tri-tipped tail makes up for that- manipulation wise, anyways. it prefers to walk on two legs rather than on all fours (or. all threes). as a common/rare hybrid of sorts i guess it'd be the monster equivalent of intersex? inter-rarity? just generally an oddity

spencer was also born missing an arm, so maddox made them some sort of experimental prosthetic (hence the robot arm. it probably looks more normal canonically I just like drawing it as the noodle version). but, no matter how many times maddox (sometimes Alva too) tries to fix or upgrade it, it’s pretty uncomfortable/doesn’t work all the time and spencer doesn’t like it very much. it's kinda just dead weight to them

anyways. came up with this semi humanoid wubbox design a while ago bc i thought itd be a fun concept. instead of the usual hollow body they have a defined two-part torso, with a hip and chest segment connected via a spine and translucent stomach area. as you can see here instead of proper organs they have Goop. slime even. which serves as their digestive system, dissolving and absorbing anything they consume near-instantly. the membrane is somewhat thick and resilient, something between skin and rubber or vinyl. wounds like this will heal relatively quickly if treated properly (literally just tape/bind it shut as efficiently as you can)
