ok this is my take on @fundipflip ‘s “what sign would be: villains vs heroes” and my reasoning for each.
heroes: leo, cancer, pisces, taurus, aquarius, virgo
villains: aries, gemini, libra, capricorn, scorpio, and sagittarius (i guess)
and if youd like to read me trying to do my best to explain why:
leo: leos love attention as far as i know. they like to share about themselves all the time whether its about their images or things they like, but regardless its not exactly the kind of thing you do as a villain. and while leos do love drama, they dont exactly want to be a wanted criminal across 48 states so instead theyd much rather opt to be a hero and bare that weight rather than keeping it all to themselves. not only that, but leos seem to be very self-righteous, which fits in perfectly with the golden-esque hero you usually see. (side note that i think leos also tend to keep secrets well, especially ones of great importance bc they know its something that greatly affects their rep. theyre social butterflies: they know when to dial down)
cancer: i think cancers are definitely one of the more passionate signs, and a lot more impulse-based than others. they tend to make decisions on how theyre feeling at the time, and for a lot of people it would be hard to keep doing this in a villainous aspect. yeah, they may make a wrong move after being taunted by a criminal or something, but i dont think they could really go through with anything long-term with out genuinely believing its the right thing to do. i think most of them would become heroes because of this, since justice is a very prevailing feeling in most people.
pisces: like cancers, i think pisces are very feelings-based, but less of their own feelings and more of others. they are very empathetic and dont believe much in being merciless- it tends to hit a road block in their morals, even if they believe in the cause. because of this, they too would need a strong belief in what they are doing in order to be a villain rather than a hero, cause of how influenced they tend to be by other people and their causes. they are much better for support rather than drive, and do their best with a group of strong-beliefed people. (not saying they dont lead. in fact i think in a united group they may be one of the strongest leaders out of the signs because of how connected they are with their group; by the people, for the people etc)
taurus: taurus, being an earth sign, has a very stable look out on their beliefs. they know what they want and how to get it. it sounds like it leans towards “villain” but consider this- a taurus is based around stability. having the chaos of constantly trying to get around things to get to a goal that will- most likely- mean MORE instability seems very counter-intuitive. heck, why not get it through society’s means instead? they can work hard. they know what to expect. its much easier for them to do that than go rampant doing who-knows what for some cheap reward they couldve gotten themselves the easy way. being the first earth sign i cover, i do want to say i think they are flexible in this regard. its more of “how they like to work” that i think sways them to either one rather than justice-related means or cause- they care more about the end product than the process, in this case.
aquarius: aquarius people tend to be “people persons.” i think they tend to pick up and understand social norms quickly, and are able to apply it to their personality and get a kick out of talking or entertaining people. because of this i think some people think they are “fooling around” all the time and only act dense because, well, they are- but it couldnt be further from the truth. the whole reason they know how to do this is because they were able to pick it apart in the first place, and will apply this skill to almost anything. but being a very people-pleaser kind of personality, being a villain just a.) usually doesnt have their best interests about them and b.) has a tendancy to sway in disconnecting from a general opinion. and dont get me wrong, they can do that- almost easily, in fact- but theyd rather fight against what they find wrong rather than for something they usually arent sure is correct (as in, most of the time, there is no right answer and theyve learned that from other peoples opinions and perspectives on things, they can usually see the value in each one. but a lot of the time, there is a wrong thing to do, and it feels much clearer to fight against that instead)
virgo: of what i know, they are very critical of the things around them to the point of over-analysing. not in a bad way, either- they are able to pick things down to the bone until there is nothing left but a clear answer. because of ther analytical nature, though, they tend to lean towards the majority- counting the majority doesnt mean doing something incredibly stupid. being so clear cut, their morals tend to allign with the “basic human rights” air with fact, and wont take it out of consideration that this should be fair and equal game for everyone. (they like to help people etc etc, and dont exactly have a goal in mind when doing so. they dont think people should have to pay for something you want, you go out and find a way to get it yourself bc theres a way to do it w/o resorting to crime,etc)
aries: fire signs tend to lean heavily towards whatever they believe in, and i think for aries it has to do with their beliefs. they think what they think and dont have much outside influence when it comes to their opinion, which is usually very backed up, anyways. because of this, things that strongly oppose their opinions on things are usually met with brute force. they are “the change they want to see in the world.” unfortuneatly, the disconnect between society’s opinion and an aries’ might end up with the aries being backed up into a corner and having no where to go. they are loud and outspoken but no one will listen to them. they have a million reasons why their idea could help tons of people, but no one turns a blind eye. its easy to resort to dirty tactics, especially when itll get people to pay attention to the big picture. (i also think that aries fight for the underdog a lot, too. its a part of their rising nature, which is why more of them sway towards villainery than herosim.)
gemini: no, they are not just here bc i dont like them. i dont like them bc they are here >:(. anyways, geminis are not exactly the most active of signs. theyre clever signs and dont typically have a problem with people- but they dont exactly have a goal in mind when it comes to their over all plan. and its not like they want to put in the work to do it either. they are self-orientated signs and think for themselves, not everybody else. that being said, theyll use whatever skills they have in order to get what they want, without much concern for the other person. bored? get someone to entertain you. poor? i dunno bussy, scam someone. cant do anything? fuckin… infiltrate a corperation or some shit. in the long run, it wont be the actual task for them thats hard, but sticking to it, because their moods are always changing. and if theyre not in the mood for whatever they were working for, theyll immediately become bored of it and move on to try something else without a second thought. while technically not villainous, gemini really doesnt seem to fit inside the (generous) heroic agenda of “protect the people” to me.
libra: libras have got to be the GRAYEST out of all the villainous signs because they.. well, they balance. i could easily switch libra and taurus, but i think tarus is more stable (where they like to be) in the heroism department, while libras have more of a chaotic air about them. they are constantly evolving in their personality to match whoever they meet and whenever they meet. and while most of the time it goes over well, it does tend the screw them over quite a lot. being so adaptable to people not only makes them a good- LONGLASTING- villain, but one with societal motives as well. and unlike gemini, they tend to have their stability in their outlooks. another thing libras would have to fuel this is a flair for the dramatic. they love seeing the scale thrown off balance so they have something to fix- getting it to right itself is one of their favourite hobbies and is very self fufilling. less of a maniacal villain and more of one that just wants to have fun.
capricorn: capricorns are the most stubborn out of the earth signs, so most of the time, trouble will be the ones coming to them. maybe they have a viewpoint they share outwardly that attracts opposite opinions, or maybe the world keeps turning when they dont- doesnt matter, its there. and itll stay there until the other side backs down or the cap thinks itll be insensible to keep going- either way, its not like they lost anything. and while i cant really say much on what they strive for, i do know this- they wont stop until they get it. they do things for a reason, and they know everyone of them. so dont come running to them about how what theyre doing is wrong and how theyre unagreeable- theyve thought this through and through, and this is the best choice, similar to aries. the same reasons would make capricorns less heroic than villainous to me. (even better, theyll set in stone most of their plans. youre more likely to be in their way rather than them being in yours.”
scorpio: (ya dip ill try not to give you a beating. trust me im think of Scorpio™ more than im thinking of you for this smh.) scorpios are active signs. they dont exactly stick up for their opinions that much- they just dont deem it necessary. but theyre strong people, and those opinions are strong to. they seem more revenge driven if anything. because they tend to hold long-time friends in an important place in their life, it affects them the most if one of those people end up having malicious intent without them knowing, and theyre completely ok taking whatever the fuck they want back, almost violently. i mean, come on, you did this to yourself, bud. better yet, they wont back down- the secretive but honest way they rule themselves strikes well with people, especially if youre trying to bargain for something you want. i think theyd be the most likely sign to be able to get into a place of power, but theyd need a strong motive first. (to clarify: they dont get hurt easily, but when they do it lingers and they have the energy and the motive to get back at you if they want) (and theyre horkies. dont make the rule smh :/)
sagittarius: (now im going off of whatever damn astrology site i can find so. here we go.) sagittarius is a free roaming sign and values it highly. and while theyre not trying to look for trouble, it often comes to them because of that nature. they like change, and if they dont have the freedom to go somewhere else, theyll just create the chaos here until they can- that simple. they dont really see rules as boundaries, but more of something optional, and trying to enforce them of a sagi will probably only make it worse. being a villain has that thrill, change, and lack of expectations that a sagittarius would love. a philosophical part of a sagittarius could easily make them question why something is even there in the first place- “i mean, does it REALLY matter if someone isnt safe? it was just chance, its not like im targeting them or anything. unlucky them i guess- thats just the way life goes.” and with this kind of thinking, itd be really easy to go off the rails with their motives. keep in mind, this lack of chains they put on themselves can also be their downfall, too- getting caught up in the heat of the moment they can easily let something slip and lose something they were working for. less of a villain with a cause, more like a discord/mad scientist kinda guy. “its not whether we should do it, it about whether we can! bitch”
