Commit This to Memory ll Crystal and Hannah
Ā Returning to Hogwarts had been harder than Hannah had ever dreamed it would be. Justin didnāt remember her at all and Jen had no memories of their friendship what so ever. It felt like all the most important people in her life had been ripped away yet again. George was gone, off to some place that he wouldnāt tell her, and then of course there would never be a Max or a Joey. Hannah felt more alone than ever. Even when she had been away she had felt less lonely than this. At least staying in Scotland she had her grandparents, but now being back at Hogwarts it was like coming back to a ghost town where everyone was scared and depressed and searching for something they couldnāt find. But Hannah was trying to look past it all and use what she had learned over the months of solitude to keep her head on straight and her mind in the right place. Justin hadnāt a clue who she was, but maybe she could build back the friendship they had had before everything had gone to shit. Jen didnāt remember their friendship, but Hannah was determined to get it back. As the thoughts flowed through her mind and burred her vision, she found herself tripping over her own shoes and stumbling across the floor. Her hair was masking her vision and her long limbs felt like they were pretzelled together. She heard a voice and pushed the hair out of her face, snuffing it out of her nose and spitting it out of her mouth. āYeah, uh, Iām fine." she said, brushing herself off and pulling herself back to her feet. āThe whole worldās in shambles and I canāt even walk straight." she said, rolling her eyes at herself with that Hannah smirk on her face. āI think that says quite a lot about myself." she shrugged with a little laugh.
Crystal cocked her head to the side a bit, observing the clumsy girl as she talked. The Slytherin let out a small giggle. "I can't help but say that I agree with you," she said. True, the school was crumbling and Crystal hated being here more than ever but she was coping as best as she could, trying to find the good in whatever was left. Gracefully pushing herself off of the ledge she was sitting on, Crystal bent down to pick up her book bag and dust it off a little before looking back at the blonde. "I don't think we've formally met before," she said with a small smile. "I'm Crystal, Crystal Roux." She pushed her hair away from her bright blue eyes. Crystal could tell there was something different with the Hufflepuff standing in her presence when it hit her--This must have been the pregnant one, she thought to herself. Her smile only grew, knowing there must be someway she could use the girl for her own good. After all, that's what Crystal did--she manipulated people and used power to her advantage, always taking the right sides at the right time, learning what to say when and where and to whom. "I think we can all say that about ourselves," she said with a small nod. After all, as much as she hated to admit it, Crystal's life wasn't perfect either. However, when it came to tasks as simple as walking, Crystal had no problem gracefully making her way down the stone paths of Hogwarts, avoiding treading on people she needed and purposefully getting in the way of people she disliked.
