A small scoff escaped Connor in response to her words, a brow raising and a smirk settling itself onto his tanned features. “Something like that,” he came to state with complete ease. “You should — sometimes they do firework shows at night. Not exactly very legal, but it’s like 4th of July up in here rather often,” he pointed out, as if a walking advertisement for Malibu beaches. “See, I’m cool with either. Sometimes it’s mixed as hell and I rather love it when it is. Quite fun, if you ask me.” Nonetheless, he quirked a brow in response to the girl’s story. “Figured, looked a bit too pale to be Australian — but that might just be me. Get where you’re coming from, surely, would prefer that a ton to my own pretending she actually likes the man she’s married to.”
"When you say 'they', who do you mean? Is it official or just random people? I'm not sure I'd be able to come out at night though. My mother's very strict about curfews." Curfews had never really bothered her back in England, she didn't have friends to go out with anyway, so they were never really applied. Malibu was another story though, the night life here seemed to be teaming with opportunities and it all seemed rather tempting to Crystal. "I'm guessing I know why you like gay people, but I'm surprised you like tourists. Most people don't, unless it's financially beneficial to them. And yeah, we do get significantly less sun than Australia does." She paused, realising that she wasn't the only one with family difficulties. "I don't know which is worse to be honest. They're both equally... Difficult situations to be stuck in."
