Hello!! Can I please have a Pearl x really clumsy Reader? Like I thought the other day that she would probably be annoyed with me if she met me irl or something because I'm very clumsy and I happen to cause a lot of accidents. It's been kinda making me feel very self conscious now because I now worry that my friends and family are annoyed by my clumsiness too. I would appreciate this so much if you could do this for me, and thank you so much in advance! Thank you for running this blog!!
Hello! I know the feeling very much I’m a pretty clumsy person too ;w; I hope this makes you feel a little bit better!
You and Pearl walk side by side, Pearl talking energetically about something new that she read about something or the other but as much as you enjoy her company you find yourself drowning her out as you’re paying attention to where you’re stepping. A sharp, “Y/N? Are you listening to me?” breaks your focus for one second as you look up at her feeling a little embarrassed, “Yes Pear-?”
The last syllable is lost as you’ve missed a step on the stairs leading down to the beach and you feel your body toppling over.
Pearl walks down fast to catch up with you at the bottom of the stairs, “Y/N? Are you ok?” and you feel all your usual apologies come rushing out, “Yes yes, I’m fine I’m just really clumsy and I’m so so sorry if I’ve spoilt the day or anything.” Pearl lets out a laugh, “Spoil the day? Y/N being clumsy is nothing to be ashamed about, why, ALL humans are quite clumsy! As far as I’ve seen.”
You feel your face turn a dark shade of red as you stare hard into the sand, you’ve expected that kind of reaction, knowing Pearl but hearing it was an entirely different thing. She didn’t mean any harm, of course. It still very much stung though.
Pearl spots your red face and kneels down to look at you, “I’m.. sorry, that… sounded… bad.” She pulls out a box of bandages from her gem and starts applying them to the scratches you got from the wooden staircase, “You know, some people are clumsy because they’re born with flat feet, and the number of accidents can be lessened with proper footware. I suggest we go check that out right now!”
She gets up quickly, pulling you up with her, “I wonder if Steven is capable of being flat footed I must check that when we get home..”
As she prattles on again, you notice that she’s gripping your hand pretty tightly as you both start walking, to stop you from falling again perhaps?
… It doesn’t really feel so bad.
