i allowed myself a single tear in the mirror and asked a question that haunted my mind for days and my soul for nights: what do you mourn? where will the sky go when your shoulders give up?

and i thought to myself, i wonder if i will ever be able to find what i search for. a person to share happiness and love and sensuality in its. fullness. a time to show myself off and enjoy my life with lesser worries. a time where i am full and fully confident and staring fearlessly into the eyes of the sun. a job that i love and aspired to do. a world, a family who understands.

i wondered about hope in pandora’s box. is this what you meant?

i am the one you look away from. the one that you can't help but notice off to the side the first time, vaguely remember that i'm in the back the second, and completely forget i'm there the third. i am the one no one sees on the sidewalk, not until they bump into me. i am the one who's stories were never asked for, who never had a basket to give love, nevertheless collect. i am the one all of your friends have looked at from every direction going down. i am the one who seems to live where life does not really go, where the color is greyed and the happiness is dulled. you ask me who i am, but you know. i am the one whos heart is not cared for.
