beep beep Zach sleepy opened his eyes as his alarm blared he stretched, sitting up and turning off his alarm he rubbed his eyes before getting up and began dressing himself for the day after he was done getting dressed, he went to see if his brother Ollie was up. He gently opened the door peeking inside of Ollie's room to see his little brother fast asleep in his bed, hugging one of his stuffed animals while he slept. Zach smiled before shutting the door, he would let his little brother Ollie sleep for just a bit longer before he woke him up. He made his way to the living room, glancing over at the kitchen. there was his mom cooking breakfast with that annoyed look on her face like she always had like she would rather be doing anything else than putting food on the table Zach slumped over on the couch and turned on the TV flipping through channels until he got to the news
"Breaking news after many missing employees cases at the company C&A we just got an exclusive interview with C&A head, CEO right now"
the TV cut to a woman wearing glasses who has a bun in her hair Christine Walker, the new head CEO of the new game studio C&A and Zach's mom the reporters voice cuts
"Miss Christine Walker do you have any explanation for the several missing employees at your company?"
Christine spoke in a calm, professional voice
"I assure you, my missing employees will be found right now it's up to the police not me to find them"
Zach roll his eyes he knew his mom was a terrible liar. He knew exactly how those missing employees went missing after all he caught her in the act he saw her with that headset, the guilty expression on her face lifeless body of the employee. Every time he thought back to that memory, it always sent a shiver down his spine. His mom told him if he ever were to tell anyone about this she would kick him and Ollie out on the streets. Zach couldn't let that happen to his little brother no matter how much he hated his mom he couldn't bring himself to snitch so he kept the secret just between him and his mom his thoughts were interrupted, however by his mom's yelling
"ZACH GO WAKE UP YOUR BROTHER!"
Zack side, turning off the TV and heading up to his brother's room, He gently opened the door and turned on the light
"time to get up Ollie mom's made you breakfast downstairs"
Ollie began whining, pulling the covers over his head
"Noooooooo five more minutes" he winded
"sorry bud but it's time to wake up"
Zach side before pulling off the covers and helping his little brother set up
"When you get your clothes on, come downstairs and I'll help you all right"
Ollie Huff still grumpy from having to wake up he waddled over to his dresser and began getting dressed as Zack side again and made his way downstairs he saw his mother already finishing up the pancakes she had made them and then she looked at Zach. He could tell she was going to tell him something that he wasn't gonna like just that look in her eyes Christine spoke slowly.
"So... Zach, I was thinking about something..."
"What about" Zach asked curiously
Christine side I'll get to the point I'm getting rid of your brother
WHAT...?! was Zach hearing this right? He knew his mother didn't like Ollie. She had always been distant after.... his thoughts were cut off by his mother's Voice
"Yes, I want to get rid of him ever since he went blind, he's been nothing but a burden to us i'm tired of him bleeding my money dry all the stupid things he needs. I'm putting that headset on him and getting rid of him once and for all."
Zach stared at his mother speechless. He didn't know what to say.
Y-You can't you can't do this. He's just a kid...... Zach's words were shaky as he spoke
"I don't give a flying fuck if he's just a kid i'm getting rid of him and there's nothing you can do about it"
Zach didn't know what to say. Didn't know what response he could give to make his mother change her mind.
"You can't do this I will-I will tell everyone what you did that you-"
"And do you really think anyone will believe you?"
Zach went quiet, putting his head down She was right no one would believe him before he could argue further he saw his brother at the top of the stairs, looking down at them
Zach sighed deeply before going over to help his brother get down the stairs, he took one final look at his mom who smiled deviously at him before turning away to get the car up and running
"Now hurry up and eat your breakfast. We're going to my office today."
She said in a sickeningly, sweet voice Ollie cheerfully said OK before running over to eat his breakfast while Zach's mind was racing 1,000,000 mph what was he going to do? He couldn't just let his mom do this to his brother he couldn't then an idea struck him like lightning. what if he put the headset on Ollie and then put one on himself he had no clue what happened when someone puts on the headset he only knew they got taken somewhere, but anywhere would be better than with his horrible mother after about 10 minutes ollie finished his breakfast. Zach let him out to the car before strapping him up in his car seat. The car roar to life, and it began driving down the long dirt path. Zach looked at the window, trying to hold back tears. He knew what he had to do. He knew what he had to do to save his brother. he didn't know how long he was staring at the window for but before he knew they were right at the. C&N Office. Zach quickly helped his brother out out of his car seat and held his hand as they walked through the building. his mom grabbed his shoulder before turning him around.
"Zach do you mind showing your little brother to the game room?"
Ollie excitedly jumped after hearing the word game room
'Oooooo game room can I go? Do I get to play the new game? You're working on mommy??"
"yep" Christine said in a sickly sweet voice and padding his head
Zach nodded his head still clouded as he started, walking down the hallway with his brother. He hoped to wherever that headset took him was a better place than this. before he knew it, he was walking down a long hallway into a room that said staff only he pushed to open the door to find an old computer and a headset. He looked around a bit, finding another one he plugged the second headset into the computer. ollie began tapping, random buttons on the computer, giggling to himself Zach approached Ollie from behind holding one of the headsets. It seemed in that moment the world started to slow down. Zach didn't realize in the moment his voice was practically shaking on the verge of tear.
"H-Here Ollie let me get the headset on you"
Ollie didn't seem to notice his brother shaky Voice. He began asking 1 million questions on what they were doing. He didn't even notice before. It was too late as a headset clicked ollie, body froze up and then slumped over. Zach stood there, petrified, watching this all go down. Then he shook his head, trying to get the feeling out of his mind. He quickly grabbed the other headset and took a deep breath.
"This will all be worth it..." he repeated to himself before putting the headset on with a click
