Scanned image shadow, filtered, printed and placed behind the original physical object. process process process.
3D scan of the physical modelled shape with shadow.
Image taken of physical object in correlation with its digital image. Another picture to present the process we are playing around with in the studio at the moment.
A stage in the systematic process me and Steven Mills have been working on as part of a collaboration started in January. More to come.
COLLABORATION PROGRESSION: STEVEN MILLS/CHLOE DOWSETT HUMAN LENS - DIGITAL LENS - REPRODUCTION - HUMAN LENS - REPUDIATION This image is part of an unfinished accumulative series. This image is a digital scan printed onto a physical reproduction drawn from a digital 3D scan. A1 Fabriano paper print, Graphite.
COLLABORATION IDEAS - STEVEN MILLS/CHLOE DOWSETT
NOTES: IDEAS: SENTENCES FOR FUTURE REVISION: The mechanical lens replicates its physical counterpart within digital or etherial space. This process is not direct but an interpretation of circumstance, which consequently calls forth images and objects which have attributes of both physical and digital existence's. These floating attributes of an in-between object or image can be brought back into physical existence by mechanical and/or human reproduction. -Still life (prediction) -Art history -Difference between the two practices -Digitalising -Flipping and flapping between digital and physical space -Reversing effects of digitalisation through re-embedding a cult value HUMAN LENS - DIGITAL LENS - REPRODUCTION - HUMAN LENS - REPUDIATION More to come/watch this space.
