Where are all the COVID-19 fics?
1) Some boy has stocked up on food but didn’t think about buying toilet paper. Luckily the girl across the hall has plenty.
2) Girl and Boy both reach for the last bottle of hand sanitizer at the same time and when the touch it’s electric.
3) Girl and Boy both reach for the last bottle of hand sanitizer at the same time and girl punches boy and runs off with it not realizing the dispenser head thingy fell off. Now boy has to go door to door looking for her with the missing piece. A covid Cinderella story if you will…..
Guys, where are they???? And who has more ideas???
4) Boy is a ship captain and girl is a passenger on the ship and OH NO the ship is being quarantined, looks like they’re stuck together for two weeks…
5) Boy and girl live across the hall from each other, and they’re both compromised and have to self-isolate… the problem is that they both have roommates. Obviously the only solution is for them to share one apartment while their roommates share the other, for two weeks.
6) Boy and girl do not get along, maybe they’re even enemies… but now they’re stuck in close quarters because of quarantine, and have to endure each other for two weeks. Without falling in love. Oh no.
7) Boy has crush on girl and pines, girl has crush on boy but refuses to admit it. Now with social distancing they can’t hang out and have to stay at least 6 feet apart… and she realises that she misses him. Like, really misses him. Maybe she should give him a call. And maybe he’s not nearly as obnoxious over the phone, maybe his silly flirting is actually cheering her up…
8) Girl thinks boy is a selfish bastard until she finds him ranting about all the selfish idiots clearing out the shelves in the supermarket, and he joins her crusade to persuade the supermarket to institute a “only two of each item per customer” policy, and they really make quite the team
9) Girl threatens to tie her idiot friends down to prevent them from going out to the pub… boy is very into this idea.
10) Girl is in another country when the pandemic hits, boy goes to great lengths in order to get her home, she realises that he really does like her. A lot. In a committed, long-term sort of way. Oh.
11) Girl is planning to move to New York, out of her lovely little seaside town and away from her friends and family and bad-boy love interest, except whoops everything is on lock-down now so she has to stay… okay she technically doesn’t have to, but it’s probably safer, right? For the greater good and all, right? She can stay another few weeks, right? His eyes are really pretty…
12) Boy likes Girl and vice versa. Both are too afraid to admit their feelings. One day girl gets infected and boy brings groceries to her door. They write each other but suddenly girl doesn’t reply. He searches every hospital with no sign. Then he finds her at his home to tell him she’s not sick anymore.
13) Boy and Girl are together and in love. Both get infected but there is only one cure. Do they both live or die? Do they share the cure??
14) Girl and Boy both work in a hospital. He drives ambulances, she is a doctor. One day he has to rush to an severe outbreak of the virus. She doesn’t want him to go, but can’t tell him why to admit her feelings. So she comes up with the most ridiculous excuses.
15) Boy and girl finally get to settle down peacefully after a long series of traumatizing seperations. They’re happily married in their dream home. They changed careers to something safer. They have kids and pets. And then she gets sick; it’s Covid19 and she has to be quarantined at the hospital; he gets a call that she has taken a turn for the worst. Between the kids and the quarantine, visiting her isn’t an option, so he’s oh so worried about her loneliness on top of her illness; but he can’t risk exposing the kids no matter how much he doesn’t care about his own safety. Why does this always happen to them?
So many good prompts. I might try to tackle a few of these while I’m “working” from home next week
