Day 4.

Passing the string of hanging apples was a small resting area that had two small chairs with a small stand between them. The pattern on the chairs contrasted the carpet. Among it’s dark gray color there are black and white stands equally scattered along the chair, almost like confetti. The chair itself was uniquely made. Earth could fit on a person, but unlike most chairs there was only one arm rest. The armrests that were next to the stand were normal height, but the other arm rest was as high as the backrest. This incurred the sitter to lean into the corner of the chair, facing diagonal. The texture of the fabric was smooth with little friction. It smelt like burnt crayons, but only up close. Overall it was a comfortable place to settle down and work.

Day 4.

I had dissipated to stay on the 3rd floor to do some catching up on some assignments. The entrance of the Teacher Education Department was decorated with a string of paper apples from one wall to the other. There were four apples on that string each with a printed on word in a fount that looked like a combination of cursive and regular english writing, “Teacher, Recruitment, Retention, Program”. The air was still, not even the guest from the air conditioning was present. Most of the time it was quiet. A soft humming from the air conditioner was the only constant noise. Ever so often a student would pass by, shifting a-cross the carpet, their backpacked crinkling against swaying arms. If someone went to get water from the water fountain the cooler fan would run, creating a loud rumbling noise throughout the hall.

Day 3.

After class I returned the Harry Potter Tower, the hallway seemed crowded even if you are the only one there. This floor was covered in carpet. The color was a mismatch of light grays and shades of dir browns. The texture didn’t look winery like most carpet, but compared, shaped into small flat balls. Within the pattern of the carped there were straight lines that went parallel or horizontal to the walls of the hallways, depending on which way you looked at it. At each turn there was a reflected half cylinder that was attached to the corner of the ceiling and walls. These reflectors are for security, so you can see around the corner from a distance.

Day 3.

On the third floor is the teacher education department. Entering from the stares the natural light coming from the glass wall behind me lights up the walls with a light blue tint. To the right is a map of the floor, it is color coded with patterns of dots and stripes. Directly across is a student lounging area. Tall dark gray circled tables, with two stools each, lined the small open room. On the left wall was a large flat screen TV that was about eye level. It was broadcasting CSU news of the activities on campus, but there was no sound. Bothe walls lead to a silent hallway. Taking the right hall, towards the teacher education department, the color of the walls turned from a blue to a light-tan. This has happened because there are no windows down this hallway so there is less natural light from outside and more artificial light, the tan color. Because the walls changed color so easily, I assume that the true color of these walls are white. Throughout the building, all ceiling lights were on. I didn’t stay there long because of an upcoming class.

Day 2.

In the left wing there is a hidden garden, tucked away by a spiral stares that is rarely used. In the morning the sky gives the garden a light blue hue that gives the rough gray bricked walls a soft feeling. Entering the small garden are four stepping stones that lead to a silver weird bench. Surrounding the bench are over ground plants, mostly clovers and a single white barked tree. The tree looked young and too weak, as if it wasn't getting enough sunshine. Amongst the green floor there is scattered litter, mostly small red ribbons and empty plastic cups. During my visits to the garden I try to clean up the litter.

Day 1.

Most students describe the Demergasso-Bava Hall, DBH, building as the Harry Potter building. It’s a tall gray tower with surviving arched walkways that resembles the fictional castle of Hogwarts. The walls of the arched walkway are glass. Most of the time you can see students walking above. Demergasso-Bava Hall is home to the Teaching Education Department and the Computer Science Department.
