I released my first album today. Wanted to share it on the site that started it all.

It’s been a long route. I had to deal with a lot of personal issues the last couple years. I wanted this to happen so so much earlier. But I took the time I needed. I’m super nervous for this show tomorrow too but I know it’ll all be ok.

I miss my parents.

It’s been over a year of no contact with them. With my sisters it’s been 2 and a half.

Part of me wants compromise. But I remember my mother telling me that she’ll always refer to my partner as a friend. The only thing I asked for really is to just acknowledge “my lifestyle.” I’m not asking for support. I’m not asking for her to come to pride. Just simply acknowledge and respect it. She can’t even do that.

And no contact with my mom just means no contact with my dad. Which probably hurts the most. He’s changed so much in the last decade. He used to hurl insults at me, used to give me that tough love, at one point he disowned me. But he worked on himself so much and when I became an adult I started understanding him so much more. Towards the start of the NC we were closer than ever. I can see him trying too, with the gay stuff. He was the first to invite my girl to family gatherings. Even invited her to his birthday, which was nice. The quiet exchange of words whenever we’d golf together, his ears listening to everything I had to say. He became someone I truly admire. But finding out that he was the first to yell at my youngest sister when she came out as bi to both of them……that felt like betrayal. That was years of work, years of understanding, years of building a respectful “adult” relationship with my parents….all of that came crashing down. I held on for another year after that but I realized it wasn’t helping.

When my Oma passed I think my mom thought that that was the tipping point to bring everyone together again. It wasn’t.

I miss them. I don’t know where to go from here. They message me a lot. I only reply when they -really- need my help. I want to golf with my dad again. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more peaceful in my life than on the course with him.

had to say goodbye last monday

the greatest creature I’ll ever know. an irreplaceable presence in what now seems like a too empty house.

my first memory of him was waking up in my partners bed for the first time and seeing him above our heads, and watching her reach out to pet him. right there a voice in my head went “i could maybe do this forever.”

he taught me so much. i never thought a cat could do shit like that. such a wonder, such a mystery, but had so much love to give.

i’m so lucky that i got to be in his life, especially in the end.

the vet last january said he had weeks left, not even months. then he went on to go for another 4 months. a fucking warrior.

Rest Easy Dolphy. Thank you for protecting us. Thank you for being the best ever.

hrngngngngnng finally got back to Studio Mir animation and it still feels wack. not trying to be all negative and stuff, and there’s a good number of things I like from this season....but damn it really got rid of any residual enthusiasm I had for this show

but LMAO book 3 is fucking phenomenal

I’m actually stunned I forgot about how much of a 180 I felt watching it for the first time....like....EVERYTHING is better. The comedic timing, fight choreography, dialogue, character relationships, PROBABLY THE BEST VILLIAN BESIDES AZULA, problems/themes/storyline feel more naturally developed rather than just pulling shit out of a hat....I can go on.

My partner and I are noticeably laughing more and going through it faster than book 2. Just...WOW.

Also I might be the only one but Book 2 had this weird thing where the episode breaks or ends abruptly/at a weird spot and lord that bugged me. Never felt that once in Book 3.

I have...too much history with that show and I’m having many flashbacks to a hopeful 15 year old me where that SHOW was the only good thing in my life at the time and now everything is so different and the only thing that remains with me to this day from all that is my ‘stage name.’

live-streaming tech issues really really suck and like, just when I started coping with my stage fright in a healthy way and performing felt more natural and easy to me NOWWW my anxiety is back to 100% because I never know what other issue will come up and how to deal with it cause all of this is so new to everyone

The last three live stream gigs I’ve gotten I’ve ran into issues and they never get corrected and the scrambling, trying to figure out what to do/what’s the next best thing to replace the setup I’ve been working on all of that week is just so frustrating and I gotta do it all over again each time is just....a little too much and I’m happy and grateful - so fucking grateful - that I have opportunities like this but for once I just want it to go without an issue?!!???? I would spend two/three days sometimes with my partner working really fucking hard to figure out the best way for my live set up to work so I can still somehow give a decent show but each time SOMETHING has gotten in the way and damn I will never complain about pre show anxiety again I miss normal gigs so much rn

It’s so ironic that performing from my own home is making me this stressed lmao
