“Okay, no. I was there. Your book is wrong.”Â
“Give it a few more centuries and you’ll be there.”
“I might have to stock up on jumpers in the meantime, centuries seems a little bit too long,”Â
“I won’t apologize for assuming that that was your intention,” Cassia replied, turning, “I hadn’t noticed but you know something as simple as the weather doesn’t phase me anymore.”
“No need for apologies, one day someone might have that intention.” Clara responded, “I wish I was like that, less time spent dressing for the weather.”Â
“You should know better than try to sneak up on me.”
“I wasn’t trying- not this time anyway. Just needed a jumper. Have you noticed the chill, or is it just me?”Â
“But I am awesome and I want to be your friend.”
“Hmm, I’m sure. But the thing is, I don’t want to be yours.”Â
“Good thinking. They should save themselves before they go ahead and make the vow official,” Vienna joked along.
“The immortality certainly isn’t worth the work outs, they all must know that. They’re crazy if they still want it after knowing,”Â
“Which sibling?” Jack asked, disregarding the other girl’s question for the moment.
“Gods, I don’t know. Their name started with B, I think.”Â
“Cinnamon and honey.”
“They sound nice,” Clara said, “What one can I try? Any?”Â
“I was just asking if you’ve seen Vienna.”
“Last time I checked, she was in our cabin. Where have you looked?”Â
“I uh… well, I wanted to offer you some of these cookies. They’re fresh and I want to know how they taste.”
“I suppose I could try one. What kind are they?”Â
“Why so hostile?”
“I wonder why. Maybe because you’re talking to me without no clear reason. Do you want to hurry it up?”
“I said who said you could come into my forges?”
“I did. One of your siblings said they would fix something for me. I’m waiting. Is that a problem?”Â
“Because it looks like you can use a friend.”
“I have friends. I don’t need you to be one.”Â
“No need to be so generous, I only need one second. Is this yours? I think you dropped it.”
“I don’t think so. Where did you find it?”Â
“Do you think it’s too late to back out?”
“We might have to ask someone, and warn the newer girls about it. It might be easier for them to back out!”Â
“Immortality make come with a lot of perks, but somehow I still have to work out to keep my figure. Shame that taking the huntress’ vow never covered that too,” Vienna joked, taking a swig from her water bottle after just finishing a jog around the camp grounds.
“If I knew we still had to work out, I don’t know if I would have said yes,” Clara joked, opening her water bottle to take a sip,Â
“You have 5 minutes to tell me why you’re talking to me. I am really not in the mood.”
