“Can’t survive five minutes without your other half? You won’t always be together you know.”
"I'm well aware of that, Cressida."
“Some cute mortal I met on a website.”
"Did you like him?"
“Really? What’s he like?” Isobel asked as they started walking.
"He seems nice enough, but I don't know him well enough to know for sure."
“Really? What kind of whispers?”
"I've heard you two have become quite...friendly."
“Adeline, Adeline… Nope, haven’t seen her since morning.”
Sighing, Aspen glanced around. “Thank you anyway. If you see her can you tell her I was looking for her?”
“What a shame, little one. But well, more for me.”
“Indeed. I actually came over to ask if you’ve seen Adeline. We got a letter from our dad, and I can’t find her anywhere.”
“I know. That’s why I’m here. You guys have always stuck by me,” Isobel gave her a small smile, “I’d love that. And as for Adeline, from what the gossip mill has told me since my arrival, there’s some guy… they were flirting. That’s all I know but from what I hear he’s also a player so maybe not. But I’ll join you on your walk and if we find Addy, we can ask her about it.”
“Ah, yes, I’ve heard the rumours too, and I’ve met the boy. I do hope Adeline is being smart about this, but we’ll have to wait and see,” Aspen sighed. “Wonderful. Let’s go.”
“I guess I could say the same to you. I must say, you’re almost as pretty as your sister.
“Not nearly, but thank you,” Aspen said. “I’ve heard quite a few whispers about you and my sister.”
“It wasn’t me, I swear. Perhaps you need to get your eyes checked, Perhaps they simply looked like me. It’s a common mistake.”
“If you say so.”
“Well that’s decent of you,” Kendall couldn’t help but admit. “I accept your apology.”
“Good, I’m glad,” Aspen said. “I’m Aspen, by the way. Daughter of Khione.”
“Oh,” Silas muttered, realizing she hadn’t heard him. “Just asking if you were alright? You seem a little out of it. Maybe it’s just my imagination or something.”
“I’m fine,” Aspen assured him. “I was just supposed to be meeting my sister here, and she’s no where to be seen. But thank you for the concern.”
“I’m sorry, what was that?”
“Perhaps you need your eyes checked, I was no where near it.”
“I know what I saw,” Aspen mused. “Whether you wish to admit it or not, you and I both know it was you.”
“Oh you know, I had a date.”
“A date? With whom? If you don’t mind me asking.”
“Want a lollipop?”
“No thanks, I’m fine.”
“Why yes, I much more prefer you to stick to your own body. Blondes need to stick together.”
“They certainly do,” Aspen said with a smile. “So where were you?”
“Hey- I’m telling the truth. It wasn’t me.”
“I saw you do it.”
