No update this week...
Mostly because Ghost is bad at working at a normal humanly pace. “orz
I’ve been spending every week procrastinating and getting *everything* done on Thursday, which isn’t really… ideal. It’s not a healthy way of doing things, either, so I’m going to spend the rest of May actually getting my ass in gear.
If you’re wondering how to work on your own comic whilst also having the dreaded executive dysfunction that comes with ADHD, I implore you to plan ahead as much as possible, and give yourself a lot of wiggle room.
This doesn’t mean marking things on a calendar- that’s not really doing anything. Especially when your perception of time works on a basis of “now” and the nebulous concept of "tomorrow or whatever.”
I mean actually writing out a skeleton of what you’re doing- describing panels, writing the dialogue, and then making a rough idea of what the page should look like if you’re doing traditional-style comics. Or if youre doing an MSPA-style comic like TNC, you’ve got to draw rough “storyboards” of what the panel looks like. (These roughs don’t have to be fully-realized. A stickman is good enough sometimes.) After you have a reasonable buffer of those roughs, you can start actually illustrating.
Then after all that- in my case- I have to code the new pages with every update, which sometimes requires some CSS wizardry that makes things take even longer. Blah blah blah. You get the picture! Webcomics are hard work!
Anyways, the next update will likely be on June 5th. We’ll be Zimming with a more realistic schedule then. In the meantime, why not join our Discord?
