@spressocup
i love men so much i feel like im going to puke
Just walked past a normal guy in a tshirt and i almost tripped
Are you sure you don't hate them? Sounds like nemesis behavior 🤨
cant stop thinking about this video
Man they don't make trucks how they used to anymore
Perhaps minimalist design is so prevalent because we no longer have anything to say.
The Cultural Tutor
@legendofthehiddenbbc and her “every renovated house looks the same” tag.
I also see a weirdly patronizing attitude towards decorated architecture and furniture
like. I was actually told by someone on here that preferring Art Nouveau design to modernism is a sign of immaturity. no joke
so there’s this strange idea we seem to have in the back of our collective mind now that detailed/decorated = childish?
(I agree, though, with the take in the notes that it’s less because we have nothing to say and more because a blank and unremarkable slate is easier to put up quickly and wipe clean as needed for Runaway Capitalism Purposes)
Of course it’s an IKEA bookcase world. Nobody gets to stay in the same place long enough to justify having a big, expensive, hard to move around bookcase like that second one! Nobody gets to plant roots.
Like the person above me said, they’re not building for clean slates, they’re building for easy erasure so the last guy can slide right off and the new guy can pay even more to come in and be told “it can be anything you want!”
They’re building houses they intending to knock down in less than 15 years anyway because communities don’t get to stick around that long. You’re just holding onto for the next owner in the hopes you’ll get more than you paid for it.
Same for businesses. Why stylize anything? It might not fit the aesthetic of whoever takes over that building when the current business can’t afford it anymore or some chain restaurant or retailer thinks it doesn’t mesh with their brand?
People aren’t wrong to see a problem with things like this, but the “we no longer have anything to say” bullshit is one of those “You got a mouse in your pocket, buddy?” type things.
Who’s this we?
WE, as a society, have plenty to say, but unfortunately the price of speaking is so far out of our range it’s criminal and the people who can afford speaking have only one thing to say and that’s, “Only that which is directly useful to me deserves to exist”.
this is literally the sweetest thing ever 🥺
They just don’t assassinate politicians like they used to anymore
I need everyone to know that 2 months after I made this post, Shinzo Abe was killed with the Splatoon weapon.
If we bring this back, maybe we can make the funniest possible outcome right before the US election.
You have no idea what it’s like to not have wifi for 6 hours only to come home to half your friend group DM-ing you and asking if you have an alibi with no further context and this
Radio Man
a dim and grim fantasy tavern but the drinks are very colourful and fruity with little umbrellas & curly straws
on some level, all digital art is pixel art cause like u got pixels up in there
me explaining to my grandma that the turkey tail and golden oyster mushrooms and birds nest fungi growing on her huge backyard tree stump are simply eating the dead wood to return it to the soil and they're cute and colorful and add to the whimsy of her landscaping and are not causing the weeds in other places of the yard or harming her little white dog
but why no photo of lovely decomposers?????
they put stumps like this in storybooks man
Super fucked up that I can’t be a master-level expert in knitting AND woodworking AND silversmithing AND embroidery AND soap making AND spinning AND -
“Who would ever want to be immortal? Can you imagine the loneliness, knowing that there’s no one else like you, cursed to outlive -” shut up!! Some of us have shit to do and aren’t cowards!!
Seeing a lot of people not from the uk not understanding who Larry the Cat is and his role in UK politics
Larry the Cat is no. 10’s official mouser. He lives at No. 10 and catches mice. He has held this position for over a decade
When shit is going down and all the news crews are hanging outside no. 10 waiting for something to happen he’s usually also hanging around outside so when there’s not much visual happening but they don’t want to cut away from the outside of No. 10 we all just watch Larry
He is often seen standing by the door waiting to be let in
He is the most competent person at No. 10
Prime minister come and go, Larry shall remain
Larry has been at Number 10 for about fifteen years. Larry has outlasted the Tory Government, and we love this for him.
He also has a neighbour in the Treasury Building! This is Gladstone, the chief civil servant:
