Seeing how coy the man was, he didn’t look at this reaction as a gesture of declination and more so the reserved nature of the other, smiling sweetly at him in return. Waylon sure was a good person; a nice change for once after dealing such long and tedious moments with Miles. Despite the fact that the man before him wasn’t as flirtatious and seemed disinterested —- at least he never said anything bad to Valentino, or judged him. It has been a long… long time since he could have a conversation with someone who wasn’t out for bad blood with him. Almost feeling emotional about it, he held back any outbursts, meaning to keep his level-headed exterior.
“I really do like it, bambino. You have skilled hands… it’s quite fascinating.” Holding onto said hand, he toyed with his digits, curiously bending them gently to see how they moved and how they reacted; being this close to him almost made him remember of the good times, when Gluskin was still well and alive. But he’d rather not let his mind slip into that dark corner again, not wanting to have the flashbacks that were caused due to the radio waves Murkoff poisoned him with – the entire town – all those people; it was ugly to see the past, when all he wanted was to go back there.
Lifting his head off of the man, his gaze low in contrast to his usual flirty nature, knowing that he’d be declined —- and all he wanted right now was to feel home again, to feel as if everything was okay again. “I can make you one as well, unless you aren’t fond of them?” Eventually, he let go of the man’s hand, moving his fingers through delicate flowers instead. “Are you allergic to sweet maries?” He asked suddenly, being caught up with his past and a memory of his, remembering the face so clearly of the boy who was getting a reaction from those flowers in particular, so he couldn’t help the question. “Or any other plant?” The taller added, attempting to go back to the reality before him.
flirtation --- was not something that waylon was good at. he hardly put any effort into trying to be smooth with anything. in his own eyes, he was dorky && lame. he could fix a computer in the blink of an eye, but to offer a woman flowers would be a difficult feat for him. he’d rather just burying his nose into a book or a phone than take part in any sort of risky social interaction. with val, he was more calm than usual -- but he still shielded himself behind a ‘calm’, scholarly exterior ( even though, obvious signs of social anxiety ensued ). shaking hands and trembling lips were few of these uncomfortable signs his would display when talking to the other.
❝ i’m glad you like it. ❞ the blond replied with a soft chuckle; his hand falling limp in the other’s grasp. for once, his skin didn’t look deathly pale in comparison to another person touching him -- considering they both had a similar milky complexion. ❝ guess it comes from being quick with typing. ❞ waylon said, looking away from the other awkwardly. was this val attempting to flirt with him? he’d assume not, since the other just ( seemed ) to have a naturally flirty nature. every person he’d seen them talk to they seemed to show the same affection for -- even miles, whom he claimed to hate with some passion.
snapping himself out of his own thoughts, he stared for a moment. val was offering to make him one in return? he didn’t make the crown expecting one back, but he wouldn’t turn down such a kindness. ❝ i--i mean, if you want to make me one. i wouldn’t mind. ❞ looking at the other’s choice in flowers, he simply nodded. he wasn’t aware of any allergies, but either way -- he’d take his chance. ❝ no, i don’t believe so. ❞ general allergies, yes. but nothing that would kill him on contact. watching val’s fingers weave through the flowers, he was engrossed in watching them make a nearly perfect crown for him; enough to make him feel that his was hardly on par when it came to craftsmanship.
