Sexism in a Hardware Store.
You'd be surprised about how much sexism is present in the workforce...especially in a hardware store. Men openly tell you that they will not accept your help if you are a womyn because they make the assumption that womyn know nothing about hardware/tools/plumbing/electrical. But it goes even further. There are only womyn cashiers, and the men are not expected to clean. When the womyn are talking together, male customers assume that they are gossiping and tell them to get back to work. However, when the men are talking in a group it is always assumed as a staff meeting, when the men gossip equally as much as the womyn. The other day a man came into Ace needing keys cut. When I asked him how many, he replied, "I need a man to help me; womyn do not know what they are talking about." This is not a one time occurrence, every single day sexism is present, and is just shaken off and forgotten. The worst part is that the womyn at the store have begun to accept their position as inferior. They do not question the gender division in their expected jobs. When a customer enters the store and asks a question about plumbing or electrical, they say, "Let me get a man to help you" instead of trying to help the customer themselves. This sexism has become institutionalized through the expectations, jobs, and language present at the store. A few of the male employees stalk around the womyn, trying to keep them "in check." They try to assert their dominance. This male dominance has been created and reenforced by our society. Ironically, one of the bosses is a womyn who is a Mrs. Fix-it. She knows all things plumbing/electrical/tools and still gets sexist comments from both the customers and the employees. Next time someone says that sexism is not very noticeable in the workforce, or that womyn and men are becoming equals in the workforce, tell them to stop by a hardware store and observe this bullshit. It is so critical that everyone stops to question human behavior with a gendered lens. Often everyday actions will go unnoticed unless you stop and analyze what is going on around you and why. Otherwise we will continue to have more womyn like the cashiers, who just accept this discrimination long enough to the point where they no longer notice it.
New cover for Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. “The spine is screen-printed with a matchbook striking paper surface, so the book itself can be burned.”

This is by far my favorite tweet ever.
Girls aren’t “easy”, girls don’t have difficulty levels. Some girls like sex and some girls don’t. You aren’t winning anything by getting either of them to sleep with you.
Some girls only want sex after emotional closeness develops, but to call this “difficulty” says some really disturbing shit about what you think emotional closeness is for.

Never hate on another girl/guy/etc because they dress differently than you. You're not walking on water for covering up more or wearing less than the person next to you. Stop calling each other sluts and prudes based on the square inches of skin you do or don't show.
And don't let me catch your happy asses dissing on budget attire either.
