Going to college, you didn't expect too much. High school by itself was hell, so you spent a lot of time studying. But you would often go to the occasional parties with your friends, but avoided drinking there. You were often the designated driver, and you were too paranoid to take drinks. Weirdos these days. But, most of the parties were hosted by "Childe".
Childe, or Ajax, was the most popular dude on campus. He was extremely rich, handsome, and even smart. You shared some classes, and you could verify. He was also known for not taking relationships seriously, and you took notice of that quickly at parties. Or just in general. He'd often just mess around with the girls, sometimes the guys, but nothing was serious. So, you never really payed much mind to him. You would rather have a more serious relationship, and Ajax was definitely not someone on your list.
But you were on his. You two shared some classes, and sometimes he would just stare at you whenever you weren't paying attention. While at parties, he'd try to sneak a few glances to where you were, making sure you were alright. When it came to others, he always felt bored with them, like it was never enough. But you seemed different, despite just being a normal college student. That was when he decided that maybe he just wanted you to himself.
You thought it was odd when Ajax would randomly come up to you to start inviting you to his parties, giving a small wink when he left. He'd get you drinks at the party, making sure it was something you'd like, and would spend some time with you. You assumed he was being friendly, but then he'd run after you when class finished and would give you food he packed. Listening to your little conversations, finding out your favorite meal, and learning how to cook it.
This went on for a while. It started to become noticable, people spreading rumors and such. You were one to mind your business, so you decided to call Ajax to your dorm, hoping for him to be able to stop this. He came awfully quick, looking as if he just threw on some clothes and ran out the door.
"Hey, what's up!" He sat at the edge of your bed, leaning back onto his arms. He seemed so relax while you seemed so...worried.
"Well, I need to talk to you about...everything." You let out a small sigh, Ajax suddenly leaning forward. "I know you're being nice, but...I think it's a bit odd. You kinda act like you have feelings for me."
You let out a small laugh, hoping to hear him as well but was met with silence. He simply sat there, most likely to try and find his words. He didn't think you were this dense.
"Because I do have feelings for you, [Name]."
You two sat in another moment of silence, you mainly being left in a state of confusion. Ajax, the hottest man on campus, confessed that he had feelings for you.
"Are...you joking? If you are, it's not funny. We're adults." You folded your arms over your chest, still processing this.
"Of course I do! Why do you think I did all that for you?" His tone seemed more hurt as he got off the bed, stepping forward to hold your face in his hands. "I've had feelings since we had our first class together. Why would I ever joke about this."
Maybe it was his tone, or the seriousness of the situation but you were in a bit of shock. You weren't insecure by far, but this was Ajax. The man who had someone in his dorm almost every week. The man who had half the campus throwing themselves at him. He was quote literally known for not taking relationships seriously, who would blame you for being suspicious.
You laughed, gently taking his hands off your cheeks and holding them. "Ajax, I get what you're trying to do but I'll pass. You're really hot and all, but I'm looking for...something serious."
Childe stood in shock for a second. You thought...that he was just trying go get into your pants? He wasn't sure to feel hurt, insulted, or both. He took a deep breath, quickly shaking his head to clear his thoughts.
"What, no I'm saying I have actual feelings for you. I want to take you on dates and-" He cut himself off, dropping your hands and going onto his phone. "Let me take you on a date! I actually want to...have something so just give me a chance." He smiled, seeming as if he was already making arrangements.
Maybe he wasn't lying, or maybe you just fell for his little tactics. Either way, you agreed and he hugged you tightly, repeating that you wouldn't regret this. You sighed, hoping he was right.
He gave you the time and place, deciding to make the date tonight to try and show you he was serious. He ended up choosing one of the more expensive restaurants in town, not wanting anything less for you. When you arrived, you were in shock. You were expecting a date, but this felt like another level of luxury. Childe grabbed your waist from behind, moving you forward to go inside. You jumped for a moment but quickly realized it was just Childe.
When you two entered the restaurant, you never realized how Childe looked up close. He had a dull color of blue, but they always seemed to shine when he looked at you. He combed his hair back, probably trying to look fancy but you always seemed to like his fancy hair. He had freckles peppering his cheeks, and would actually blush when he noticed you just looking at him. He coughed, presumably breaking your thoughts as he pulled you along to your table.
"So, do you like it?" He asked the moment you two sat down, seeming a bit anxious. It was very last moment, so he felt a bit worried you might not like it. You just smiled and nodded, looking at the menu.
"Everything's so expensive. Are you sure about this?" You seemed a bit worried as you glanced up and he smiled, shaking his head. You returned the smile, going back to figure out your order. Childe just admired you, wishing he could hold your chubby cheeks in his hands again. He'd often spend a lot of time admiring you, but you were better up close. He snapped back when the waiter came back. You ordered something that caught your eye while he simply ordered his usual.
The rest of the night went oddly well. You learned more about Childe, how he's actually a bit of a family man and how rich he really is. He seemed so sweet, so caring as well. He would happily listen to you ramble about anything, smiling. You would blush, apologizing for rambling but he'd simply reply with, "that's alright, I love listening to your voice". He really did love listening to your voice, the way you'd hum, or squeak, or laugh. Every sound you made was like music to his ears.
He insisted on dropping you off, knowing it was already late as it was. You agreed, hoping into Childe's car. It was a Tesla, an expensive one. Youd didn't know much about cars, but this was definitely just as fancy as the restaurant. The ride back home was smooth, making idle chatter as Childe drove you home. It didn't take too long to get to the dorms, but he wanted to make sure you actually got home safe. He seemed happy with the date, humming as you unlocked the door to your dorm.
"I hope you liked our little date. And that it actually showed you I'm serious." He smiled, leaning against the door frame. You rolled your eyes at him, throwing off a jacket or coat you were wearing on the coach.
"Well, just take a seat on the coach while I change out of these clothes." You muttered, already itching to get out. They were too tight, in a way that bothered you. When you came out with more comfortable clothes, Childe was still on the coach, sprawled out in a more comfortable position along with his shirt off. You didn't notice it before, but he seemed to have bags under his eyes, looking much more tired. He noticed you in the corner of his eye and patted the area next to him. You laid down next to him, a bit scared to fall off the edge. He used his arms to wrap around you, holding you tightly as he buried his face into your neck.
"You'll be fine. Goodnight..." His voice faded off, falling asleep rather quickly. You didn't mind, quickly snuggling into his chest as you also drifted off to sleep.
Ever since that night, it seemed you two were official. Childe would spend much more time with you, balancing you and his regular life at the same time. You felt the same way and felt rather happy to be with him. He didn't try to push you, which surprised you a bit, and would make sure you were actually taken care of. He would often crash at your house after parties, or sometimes games to just cuddle with you. It seemed this relationship was actually serious.
After some time of dating, several months passing by, Childe had called you back to your dorm for something important. When you came, he was seated on the couch with a smile as he patted the seat next to him. When you sat down, he took a deep breath, trying to find his words.
"How would you feel about meeting my family?"
A/N; Slightly longer, and I kinda wanna do a 2nd part where you meet his family & such. It'll go more into depth about how his family reacts to chubby reader and the relationship.
