Hello~?
Hello. My name is Kyungsoo. And you are…?
Please reblog this if you are a literate KRP blog willing to interact with multimuse blogs.
Do not just like a starter you asked for and never respond to it. If you're unhappy with it then talk about it with your partner
It can get so frustrating when effort is put into a starter and it never takes off, especially if it’s plotted. If that Mun volunteered to write you that starter, chances are they have done so for countless others and quite likely, you’re not the only one to have done that exact thing to them.
That doesn’t make it excuseable, by the third time it gets annoying, by the fifth upsetting and by the tenth rage inducing. Don’t be too shocked if they don’t message you about it, if you never responded or asked for something else, you’ve likely been grouped with those who have done it to them before you. So don’t blame them when they unfollow.
Soon after he’s spoken, he receives a reply. He hears the man’s voice before he sees him, but when he does, he is startled by the dissonance between the man’s presence and his outward appearance. He looks so unassuming, like any other mild-mannered twentysomething shopkeep. But to eyes with the capability of seeing beyond that, he is overwhelming. Bewildering. He wears the weight of many years, many lifetimes, but that doesn’t make sense.
Woohyun gathers his composure before long. “Yes, well, I’m looking for a table. An end table, specifically, though I suppose anything similar would suffice. As long as it’s not too large. I don’t have a lot of space.”
He lets his eyes roam around the room, trying to look the part of a curious shopper, trying to ignore the many questions springing half-formed to his mind. There are many items to choose from – more than he could ever want, let alone pay for – and he’s sure the man has something that would work.
He’s less sure that he’ll be able to hang around long enough to figure out what is so strange about this man, this Kyungsoo. He’s usually so sure in his read of a person, even upon first meeting. He’s never met someone who confused him so.
Kyungsoo notices the man scrutinizing him, but he doesnt think much of it. Many people believe him to be too young to be a successful business owner.
"Ah, end tables you say? I have several in this room. If you would follow me."
He comes around from the cashier desk and heads forward and to the left, passing the young man in the process. Kyungsoo doesnt even bother to check if his customer is even following him before he continues on.
"I have four on display I believe and if these are not to your liking I can put in a request with some contacts of mine and see if there is one more suited to your style."
He points to the room in question. All four tables are set up by the wall: two have tea sets displayed on them, one has a stationary set, and the other holds a vase.
"I can clear these off if you would like to take a look at the tops. One of these tables is an import from Europe. Germany, if I remember correctly."
“what you can do, hyeri, is very, very dangerous…”
“don’t worry, papa. i promise to never hurt anyone. i swear i won’t.”
“i know, darling. but it’s not other people i’m worried about. it’s you.”

It starts with a quiet moment of sadness. A customer has come to him for help putting the spirit of her dead husband to rest. Woohyun assures her they can do it, together. She should come back on the weekend and they can have a ritual. She thanks him profusely, but before she can gather her child and leave, Woohyun hears an ominous crack from the next room.
His smile never wavers. She apologizes, but he tells her it’s fine, and he’s happy her child is unhurt. Only after she’s gone does he let disappointment show. A soft sigh escapes him, gazing down at the broken table. It had been his mother’s, and her mother’s before her. There is no replacing it.
He sets out the next morning to try anyway. True, his house is small and doesn’t need a lot to fill it, but it has always been sparsely furnished, so that the absence of any one piece quickly becomes inconvenient. He takes the train, watching out the windows as the coast dwindles away and the city in the distance grows closer. He never liked traveling into the heart of Seoul, and today is no different. He gets off a few stops short of the city proper. It might be harder to find what he wants here, but at least he can relax while doing it.
A little while later and he stumbles upon something that has him thanking the gods for his good fortune. At first glance, he’d thought it simply a mansion, albeit an impressive one that held his attention long enough to stop him in his tracks. When he gets closer, he sees the sign. Curiously, this mansion also houses an antique shop. He smiles. His mother would approve.
He pauses before knocking, realizing that would look a bit silly when the shop is apparently open. Cautiously, he steps inside, taking the time to admire the charm of the interior and the quality of its wares before calling out softly. “Hello?”
The whole morning was going to the dogs.
Kyungsoo woke up to find out he overslept and only had 40 minutes to get ready and open the shop down on the first floor. He rushed through his morning routine, taking the quickest shower he had ever taken in his entire life and struggling into his button up and slacks while he tripped down the stairs to maybe make some tea before it got really busy.
He managed to make it to the kitchen with 10 minutes to spare and he set the kettle to boil while he fed the cat, unlocked the front door, and changed the 'CLOSED' sign to 'OPEN'.
"Here's to hoping the rest of the day goes smoothly." He mutters to himself as he takes his place behind the cash register, tea in hand.
About 16 minutes after opening, tourists start to trickle in and the phone starts ringing with people asking about specific pieces he might have. It gets so busy that Kyungsoo hardly has a chance to breathe. Interestingly enough, everyone seems to leave around the same time, making the house go from noisy to deadly quiet in a matter of seconds.
Its almost 11:40 when Kyungsoo hears the front door open again. He sets down the book he was reading and plasters a sincere smile on his face. Just as he's about to greet the new customer, he realizes that they have already said something.
"Hello sir." he called out, leaning a bit to peer at what looks like a rather handsome young man. "Welcome to The Cabinet. My name is Kyungsoo. How may I help you today?"

It took a few seconds for the sound of the new arrival in the room to register in his mind, and when it did he turned his head to glance at him, greeting the other with a small smile and a very slight nod. He couldn’t keep his attention off the books for long though, as he’d just found one which he felt particularly drawn towards. He carefully drew it out from between the two surrounding volumes, and he ran his fingers almost appraisingly over the slightly dusty cover before opening it to peek inside at the table of contents.
Soon deciding he could find something of interest in this one (concerning the mythological and metaphysical lore surrounding various trees and plants, only some of which he was familiar with), he closed it again and held it at his side as he turned toward the other sections, drifting over to scan the shelves for words that jumped out at him. He glanced over at the man again, realizing it may be considered rude not to say anything.
"Hello," he started politely, his voice coming out quiet. His hesitant smile brightened a bit when he spotted the cup in the other man’s hands. "What kind of tea is that? I like tea."
"It's just some Darjeeling that I made a while ago." Kyungsoo shrugged one shoulder as nonchalantly as possible while he observed the young man observing him. He felt the corners of his own mouth turn up in some semblance of a smile as he got a better look at the book in his customer's hand.
"In that book you have by any chance, Botanical Origins Vol... 3?" He leaned onto the counter and stirred his cold drink in a lazy fashion, the action masking his true intent of further studying the man's appearance.

There were few forms of indulgence in Taemin’s life but that foggy morning he set out in search of one of them. With a pocket full of bills and loose change he sought out an antique shop he’d recently heard of, hoping to find an interesting old book or two and if he was lucky, some paraphernalia of his craft.
Coming up to the building, he spotted the sign that let him know he’d found the right place…The Cabinet, scrawled in ornate letters. It almost resembled an old residence; in fact, once he pushed the front door open there was no missing the distinctly lived-in vibe. His footfalls on the hardwood floor echoed slightly as he gave a look around, and off to the left through a doorway he spotted shelves of leather and cloth-bound books. A soft smile curving his lips, he drifted into that room without hesitating, eyes darting with excitement from one title to the next and fingers lightly landing on the ones that sparked his interest.
Kyungsoo had just left the front of house to procure himself a light breakfast, erroneously thinking that customers wouldn't begin to trickle in this early in the morning. It was only the filtered sound of the other's soft footfalls and general shuffling noises through the old air system that warned Kyungsoo of his apparent visitor. He finished washing his fruit and grabbed his cup of tea from last night off the counter where he left it last and made his way towards the register, deciding to use the servants door partially obscured by the large bookcase behind his counter.
He couldn't help but smile as he observed a young man rifling through the books haphazardly sorted on a smaller shelf near the window. He cleared his throat and patiently waited for the customer to acknowledge him, deciding that it would be less creepy to alert the other of his presence now rather than later.
