The Heat
Language such a crude tool for describing the body's bent song Where does the heat in my heart originate Where does the firewood come from and who is chopping it My lungs two caverns that I insist on choking with smoke and smoke and smoke All of the worlds noise bouncing off my pupils unrelenting and I let a lot of it in All these thoughts laid out like a map written in some alien script And as I go along some words are revealed to me the glass on the compass becomes less foggy Torn between two worlds one production the other a sorry but glorious destruction but I know neither is right and like a retired magician my tricks are becoming harder to fake so I go on shoes velcroed tight and my perception of time constantly swinging from vine to vine where does the heat come from? The thought of having a soul is comforting but comfort doesn't make for an interesting life.

Noticing Practice.
The weird way her ass hangs just below her age inappropriate skirts makes me understand gravity. The grave it seems pulls us towards the earth. Time and soil are partners in this composting world. on windy days parking lots are crazy. seagulls hang in suspension, the paper bags panic. on these days I like to think the wind is the sensation of the earth spinning. The gusts are the invisible outer space blankets covering my skin and making my hair dance around on my silly human head. Every action is a habit being repeated, killed or created. To know this once is not enough. We must notice and notice and notice. To become this. We must show up every day for noticing practice.
i am not what my voice sounds like. I am not the words I write or think. I am an avalanche of actions. the lawn and the lawn mower, the time and place when rain becomes water. qualia. the colour red is red, unless its pink. but you wouldn't know that. you wouldn't know my red or pink or the colours i think i think.The goal is to lay down every night exhausted. to see everyday as a new mountain, to see a new mountain everyday. At night im wandering in lace covered valleys. . The body wants a routine and to be healthy. the brain wants to outsmart the body. the soul is a drunkard. The heart goes to work regardless of pay or conditions. walking is falling forward into the future.
This feels nice to talk like this, it feels good like a haircut two weeks later or warm dish washing water. when a horse dies it has to be burnt or buried. A fire seems insensitive but have you ever dug a horse sized hole? So Vanilla thunder goes up in smoke and her ashes rejoin the cosmos with Carl Sagan and all the stallions that were never tamed.
Somebody reached out and wrapped their arms around the daylight, this is how calendars were invented. Each square is a day. You get a bunch of squares and when you finish counting them they evaporate like horses into the sky. looking out your eyes. what a sensational extravagance. what a bold behavior for such a bald monkey. to be aware of this, is a new experience for the pink primate. we were given mirrors first, then reflections. and in the reflections a strange perspective was gained. the feeling of knowing we are knowing. to no longer be a wolf or whale. to know we are knowing.. what a privilege laced with eventual insanity

and in the fury of the before supper sun i feel the strength of my body as it proposes its thesis 'lets do another one'
